"I'll help with the firewood," Burgee chimes in and he wraps both hands around the carved staff and mumbles a few arcane words. Then he lifts his right hand toward the sky and as his arm swings in an upward motion another handappears above his floating in space. He makes a few more motions and the hand begins gathering dried sticks and debris for use in a fire. He then looks around for a limb nearby that would be good for resting, and for watching. The ground being too open for his tastes.
Once they begin to settle around the campsite, Burgee makes an effort to learn more about the rest of the group by turning first towards Rose and asking, "So Rose, what brought you to cross paths, with these two?" He looks at Paavu and Lark, "Have you three been together long?" He looks over at Lark and then at Paavu, "I'm not so sure what we're in for here but I do welcome the company. I've been wandering a while too alone. Since..." his gaze moves off into the distance before shaking his head, "Well, I'm glad for the company."

Even without seeing the eyes due to the helmet and shadows, Lark could feel a glare answer his grin. "Paavu will not lie about what he has and has not done. And any who would try in his place, Paavu breaks them in half." He stated in tone that brokered no argument after an already gathering minded Lark. Whether the words appeared headed or not, the Goliath nevertheless turned his attention towards clearing a wide enough circle in the snow for both tent and campfire.
Briefly pausing during the job of setting up the tent over Burgee's words, he glances back to the birdman. "Day before is first time meet either of any. First time in Phanadlin too. But, Paavu has been in many places. Most up and down the Sword Coast. Some still in the Dales of Ice. But.... needed to head inland."Noone can see him frowning. But, the distinct feeling is there before he turns to finish up the tent. "Little ones make use of tent, Paavu thinks. More secure against night chills than just bedrolls."He comments absent-mindedly while staring over his work. "Paavu also takes first watch."

Rose sets up a place for the fire and once Burgee has gathered wood she goes about starting up a fire to keep everyone warm. Once a space is clear she also takes a moment to set up her Bedroll. "I prefer a view of the night sky when camping out, I'll be fine by the fire." she says to Paavu when he suggests the tent. Once settled she regards Burgee. "As Paavu said, this is my first time meeting everyone here. I simply follow Selûnes guidance. She has often led me to groups of adventurers who were about to partake in some dangerous endeavour, though in the past all these people were already acquainted and I the only stranger. But most groups are happy to make use of my skills, especially when the plan is to delve into some dark cave or ruin and I'm happy to help until Selûne decrees it's time to move on. This is the farthest west I've ever been. I'm hoping to reach the coast at some point, random lakes and the waters of the Evermoors I hear are nothing compared to the ocean. I hear the water goes on for miles and miles with no land in sight! It's quite fascinating if true." Rose then turns to adress Paavu. "You've been to Icewind Dale? Ever go through the Spine of the World? Ibe heard some of the tallest mountains in the world can be found there. I've only ever looked upon the Nether Mountains while in Everlund. But I bet they don't compare. I'd quite like to visit the far north one day. Oh yes the watch, I almost forgot. I'd be happy to take watch around midnight. The dark doesn't bother me so much and I like to do my prayers around then anyway."

Order of watch: Paavu, Rose, Burgee
The moon is mostly full tonight, several days having passed since, and the faintest shadow has begun to eat at the edges. Tonight was a clear, cloudless sky. The wind was at rest, and the sounds of the night permeated the camp. Crickets and other insects singing their litanies. Lark having gone out to seek firewood, not only finds enough for the entire night, but it was luckily enough, dry. The tree above having the fortitude to shield the log and many many branches that had fallen before.
Paavu clearing out an spot that was wet, but nothing beyond damp and quickly dried as the fire was lit and burned. Everyone having soft conversations as they enjoyed the warmth, a bastion against the heavy cold surrounding the camp like a dome. The area was a nook just off the side of the road, seemingly made for halting - likely part of some trade route.
The moons light shining down like a cool smile upon the entire region. Everyone seeming to refuse the tent, likely to Paavu's ire, as Burgee chose a tree, Rose chose the sky, and lark remaining undecided so far. The warmth that had bolstered Larks warmth earlier had finally faded and he could once again feel the cold where the fire didn't wash over it.
You may continue any in character discussions taking place at any point during this tri-post, just posting beyond it for the sake semblance.
Paavu's watch is calm when everyone else finally decided to turn in for the night. The night remains still, and calm, and cool. Serene. Eventually waking up Rose for her own watch and laying down for his rest.
Rose's watch is also serene, saying her prayers in peace, and calm, and cool. The world a blanket of white, to match Selune's face in a more pure fashion. Enjoying the warmth of the fire which still roared with all it's fuel being slowly eaten over the course of the night.
Rose eventually realizes it's time to awaken Burgee for his own turn. laying by the roaring fire as she once more takes her rest. Burgee, perched up on his branch, his watch too, is quiet, and serene, the ongoing theme of the night. Dawn is finally beginning to break, the faint, multicolored light of dawn a haze in the distance. Several rustles can be heard near him off in the distance. Accompanied by a long howl. The howl is soon answered by a chorus at various distances and locations, but none are too far off.
Again, feel free to roleplay the night in its sections. Any combat that may or may not start will wait until it seems everyone has had their turn/say :)
Burgee rests by the fire that Rose started. "Aye, the sea is beautiful," he started, and he rubbed one of the runes carved into his staff as he recalled the storm that almost took his life, "but she can have a temper. She must be treated with the respect due her and she will see you safe to shore." He recalled his fall into the furious sea and the visions that came over him before his visions went dark and he awoke alone on deserted shoreline. The travel back to civilization, and... his thumb traced the lines of the symbol... her. He looked back up at Rose. "I spent most of my life on the water or along the coast. It's in my blood. I'd be honored to accompany you to the sea one day. It's a gift we should all enjoy."
As the darkness continued to fall, he found his way up to his perch asking Rose to wake him for his watch. He slept lightly, keeping a cautious ear toward the night skies.

Rose looks to Burgee he starts talking about the sea. She waits patiently as he appears lost in thought, her own thoughts turning to stories of seafaring adventurers she had heard and as well as the many perils they faced. Of course those were stories, Rose had no clue how true any of them were. When Burgee finally perks back up she gives him a warm smile. "Well I sure hope you'll be there to show me the sea, it would be nice to have an expert nearby when I finally see it."
During her watch Rose ate one of her rations and did her best to keep warm by the fire once finishes with her prayers. Bored, she started to hum a tune to herself. A song a bard she was close with had sung to her when their group would camp out in the Evermoors. She allowed her thoughts to drift for a while remembering the fireside tales and songs the bard had to share and silently wished she were here. Eventually Rose regained her focus at the end of her tune and once it was time she woke up Burgee for his watch and went back to sleep till morning.
"Paavu only climbed them as much as he had to. The Spine of the World. Other.... Did not wish risk meeting others of Paavu's kind. Not if it can be helped." He replied to Rose, taking on a more somber cast. He refrains from saying more, and avoids speaking altogether as much as he can for the remainder of the night and quite possibly the full day after. During that time however, he still perks up over the stories overheard, and would occasionally either smile, nod, or chuckle at points. The last of which being whenever Rose appeared the most excited over things he took for granted over the years.
It is only when the stories turned to the outlandish to the point of being clear embellishments that he turns stern again. Before sleep inevitably claimed the Goliath, his thoughts drift back to Burgee's pause in thought over prior wandering of the land. Having seen the expression in the mirror before, he silently resolved to inquire... another night, perhaps.

Burgee was wide awake and aware when the hows rang out, announcing the telltale presence of wolves in the area. Burgee considered what to do, running his fingers over the staff he had learned so much about only to be pulled through the dimensions to this place.. perhaps there was a reason? Even though the wolves howling was likely warning enough, he opened his mouth wide.. taking in a deep breath, and perfectly replicated the loud, annoying sound of church bells, ringing and gonging creating a cacophony that would easily eake everyone in the camp up. The sun was rising, providing dim light everywhere. The wolves began to surround the tree that Burgee was in, with such a loud noise being made. (the encounter was inevitable so i chose what I thought Penguini would do, more or less :P)

(Hmm good call on the armor I shall be assuming the same)
Rose lazily opens her eyes, the sounds of church bells ringing in the air reminding her of her earlier days in Selûnes service. "Just five more minutes."She grumbles to herself before shooting up out of her bedroll to the sound of Burgees thunderwave. "Wait wolves?"As Rose notices Paavu running towards the hastily grabs her hammer and with no time to put on armor she grabs her little used sheild and rushes towards the wolves.
Lark looks around sleepy eyed. "Who is howling?" Realizing that something was amiss, He ambles to his feet. Grabbing up his crossbow and a bolt, he will step out into L15 and fire it at wolf 3 Attack: 12 Damage: 3. Without waiting to see if his attack hit, Lark dives back into the tent (m16) and tries to stay avoid notice (Bonus action hide stealth16. )
Resolving Burgee's effect to see if there even will be a fight.. lol

All but one of the wolves is instantly killed, as their heads explode from the sound, the remaining one whimpering in pain as its ears bled... a pitiful, pained wail from an animal with hypersensitive hearing. Within moments, the bodies of the other wolves collapse, finally realizing they were dead. After a moment, a shockwave of noise blowing out over the camp like the aftermath of an initial nuclear explosion, washing over the faces of the group. The tree Burgee was in shattering like so much detritus as the bark and needles splintered in a massive shower outward like a massive natural grenade.
Three of the wolf corpses fly away like ragdolls one of them smacking against Paavu's leg and stopping there, the other two flying by the rest of the group. The remaining wolf, ears still tucked back, and the whitest pelt of them all, tucked its tail between it's legs, suddenly feeling very outnumbered, and began backing away slowly, while letting out tiny, threatening snarls and gnashing of teeth, which only seemed to cause the pain in it's head to intensify, so each was followed by a pained yelp.
Lark, coming late to the party ducks out as one wolf corpse flies past, and the area is showered with splintered bark and pine needles, popping a shot off at the wolf as it retreats, hitting it in one of it's upper shoulders, bringing the wolf to the ground in a final cry. While not dead, the wolf appears unable to move, and is breathing heavily as it lies there, alone, and bleeding in the snow. Without waiting to see more Lark does a baseball dive back into the tent.
The wolf is too injured to perform any actions. Party is up.

(Posting soon. Time to see if Paavu can get himself a probably half-deaf Wolf friend)
Paavu, having half-expected the blast thanks to the warning, had at least got an arm up in time to keep the explosion of snow, dust, and tree shrapnel from getting into his eyes. He doesn't even if hear the tree itself fall, so deafened initially by the blast is he. Fortunately, by the time the debris cloud settles, it has mostly returned enough to hear past the ringing, and notice the full extent of the aftermath.
"Tch! Foolish pups. Should know better to not chase thing they know not."Paavu comments on while turning away, only to stop mid-way, noticing the still breathing wolf on the ground. "... Hmph. Make good pelt, but..."He comments on, but after a moment's pause, strode over to its side side, gingerly began tending its at least more visible injuries with a Healer's Kit kept strapped to his belt, stabilizing the critter.
"Better it dead without pack, Paavu thinks... Thinks too we try and keep, however. So, heal is 'preciated." He would say during the process, but wouldn't stop. Instead, he used that whisper soothing words and petting to try and keep it still and calm.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing Burgee annihilate the wolves almost in their entirety she stows her sheild and hammer muttering to herself Next time then. She then walks over to the injured wolf and draws her dagger. She cautiously kneels beside the creature and puts a hand on its fur hoping the creature won't try to bite. "Ssshhh it'll be okay little guy." She'll pet the wolf a few times to try and comfort it before looking back to Paavu. "Ain't got much experience with wwolves. What do you think? Better to finish it or should I heal him?" Rose holds up dagger in one hand, and let's her other reast gently on the wolf's fur ready to cast a healing spell.
If kill: Attack: 23 Damage: 9 (assuming advantage since prone?)
As the powder and shrapnel settles from the loud boom, the one wolf being the only remaining one alive, and knocking on deaths door... Paavu would approach it, deciding whether or not to kill it. As he approached it, it attempted to snarl, but, being too weak to even manage that. Its entire body quivering weakly. It tensed when Paavu touched it, expecting to be dealt the finishing blow, but instead he begins to pet it. Intentionally or not, the petting was as much a source of pain as it was succor... It whimpered more as pain shot through it's body at the contact.
Soon, as Lark hid in the tent, trying to prepare for another shot.. Rose came up and started doing much the same, though her hand was lighter, and caused far less pain than Paavu's massive, heavy one. It was in agony. It's head felt like it had been split in two, the arrow in it's arm digging into and tearing the muscle.
Soon, after Pav indicates he wants to spare the beast, Rose lays her hand on it, sending soft, healing magics into the wolfs form. But the healing was reluctant in some way, and only healed it so much. The wolf, however, stilled as it collapsed to the ground, offering a single lick to Rose and Ppaavu's hand before fainting from stress.
Lark peeks out from the tent. Gives a confused look around.
"What was that boom?" Seeing Paavu and Rose huddled over the beast, his demure softens a bit. "Was I.. I not supposed to shoot that one?" He will put the crossbow down and slowly approach. Peering around Paavu's shoulder just before the wolf passes into unconsciousness. "I have a potion I bought from some traveling merchants. You can use it on the wolf if you want."

Rose pets the wolf a few more times, never taking her eyes off the creature. Its okay Lark. He'll be just fine. After a few more moments she gets up and heads back to the camp. Well if everyone's awake I'd say we should eat and get ready for the rest of the day. Once back at camp Rose will start to put on her armor and pack up her bed roll, making sure she is ready to go at a moments notice. while waiting to for everyone else she will simply eat a ration and keep an eye on the perimeter in case any other predators decide to join the party.
Paavu just nods to Rose, as he was unable to look up from the wolf. By all rights, he should have just ended it. And yet....
"What's done is done. It is the way."He murmurs, as he carefully shifted the beast about for transport back to the remainder of his things. After rising, he'll give the remainder bodies one last long look, call out to Burgee to see if he still draw breathe, and then carried on his way. By the time Paavu is ready to move, the Wolf had been further bandaged up by the goliath, armor was donned, breakfast was had, and nestled in the crook of his usual weapon carrying arm is the wolf.
"We go now. See to castle. See to rescue. One known as Burgee! You have Paavu's thanks, but we go now." He calls out to the kenku if he had not already extracted himself from the mess.

(Hmm good call on the armor I shall be assuming the same)
Rose lazily opens her eyes, the sounds of church bells ringing in the air reminding her of her earlier days in Selûnes service. "Just five more minutes." She grumbles to herself before shooting up out of her bedroll to the sound of Burgees thunderwave. "Wait wolves?" As Rose notices Paavu running towards the hastily grabs her hammer and with no time to put on armor she grabs her little used sheild and rushes towards the wolves.
Action to dash to R14

Resolving Burgee's effect to see if there even will be a fight.. lol
7 - 2 - 12 - 16 - 4 - 6 - 3

Should know better to not chase thing they know not." Paavu comments on while turning away, only to stop mid-way, noticing the still breathing wolf on the ground. "... Hmph. Make good pelt, but..." He comments on, but after a moment's pause, strode over to its side side, gingerly began tending its at least more visible injuries with a Healer's Kit kept strapped to his belt, stabilizing the critter.
"Better it dead without pack, Paavu thinks... Thinks too we try and keep, however. So, heal is 'preciated." He would say during the process, but wouldn't stop. Instead, he used that whisper soothing words and petting to try and keep it still and calm.

If heal : 7

It is the way." He murmurs, as he carefully shifted the beast about for transport back to the remainder of his things.
