“Hmm something seems off... but i just can’t pinpoint what it is. I have a nerve-racking instinct that a rescue mission may not go to plan. We may be foolishly playing into the PPA’s hands.“
Blaize face’s scrunches up, his eyes closed and his face in deep concentration as to find out what’s bothering him.
Fire bolt- Shoot a streaking ball of fire towards a foe and deal a measly 1d10 fire damage. Use eldritch blast instead.
Fireball - Drawing magic from your inner reserves, you unleash a devastating nuke that explodes in a circle, hitting multiple enemies, and burning them to a crisp with a godly amount of 8d6 fire damage. Make your DM’s fights look like garbage. It’s also a nice way of TPK your entire party and have them triggered at you for the rest of the week.
The sorts of questions Aleister asks the Survivor revolve around what it is that Sandra feels he knows that would require his death to prevent that knowledge from seeing the light of day. Aleister will start his 'conversation' with the Survivor by pointing out that Sandra just tried to burn him to death, that Aleister and company prevented that. So what loyalty does he owe her, or the PPA? What does he know about Sandra's sources of information in Corvalis? After all, somebody revealed not only that the Survivor was here, but where he was, at least generally. Does he have any knowledge of the long term plans and goals of the PPA? Does he know of any 'influential' people in the PPA who might be 'persuaded' to share they concerns about the doings of the PPA? Is there any resistance to Norman and his style of running things? Have any of the major players in the PPA been kept in line through blackmail, hostages, etc? Would he be willing to renounce the PPA publicly? Did he realize that Sandra can not afford to let him live, now that she has tried to assassinate him?
OCC Since an interrogation is a delicate practice, these questions are not necessarily in any particular order; and maybe some answers might lead to different questions or one leading to further elaboration.

Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
"There is more than one kind of coin. Would a safe harbor in Yachats be worth it? Freelancing across fallen Oregon is all fine and good until you realize there's nothing to come home to. Or anyone to back you up," Sarah replies pointedly. "That said, the Lady Sandra is the politically adroit type. She'd smell deception a mile away. It might be less risky to wait for the assassin to be absent before arranging a rescue. We'd appreciate your assistance, Zachary, Connor."
OOC: :-)...there is a lot of assumed history in asking for assistance from Conor - outside of seeing that the woman & children are linked to the man that the party appears to have handed over to the local authorities to allow him to be questioned during the talks (please correct me if I am wrong) Conor has no idea why this guy is important. It seems that attacking a diplomatic party residence (if that's what is intended) in broad daylight would be hard to conceal, but of an evening when Sandra and her lackies might be being entertained at a dinner or other event, might provide a better window of opportunity. Whilst I have read back through a number of pages of the posts I must confess I am not clear on the motivations or objectives that are in play right now.
IC: Upon seeing Tiphaine and relaying that to the group you see Conor edging further behind the group and into any shadow that may be available making it fairly evident that he is somewhat concerned about being recognised before responding, still looking past the group as he speaks "As I said, while that one (indicating Tiph) is with Sandra she can't be elsewhere. If you are planning anything best make sure that attack dog is by her masters side. As for assistance, I have a few debts to settle so I am up for anything that will damage the PPA provided that it is not a suicide mission. It would make better sense to ambush them en route from here to the where the PPA are holed up if you want to even the odds....maybe sending Zachary after them now to see if he can find out whether such an opportunity might present itself" Conor leaves that suggestion hanging for the party to consider, not really knowing whether the PPA will transport the man's family back to their house/compound without the senior members of the PPA or not.....nor whether Zachary is in a position to follow the group that includes the wife and kids.

Persuading NPCs does require a check. But his family is in Sandra's hands, to overcome that requires more than just a good roll.
Questioning him in private before the meeting will (possibly) give you intelligence but does nothing for the political situation. Questioning him at the meeting may give you a political edge if you can get him to answer the correct questions.
I posted this many posts ago - he was captured by The Rangers leading an incursion into MacKenzie lands. This is a blatant breach of the current cease fire agreement. The idea is leverage this breach to convince the Corvallis Senate to join the war rather than sit it out. There's going to be a war no matter what happens here.
OOC - Thomas is assuming nothing about these conveniently appearing strangers, at such a critical time of building allies against the PPA. Also, never bother rolling skills against other PCs. It has no effect. Except combat, of course. :D Hell even NPCs can't be "Persuaded" or skilled to do something against their nature - it's not magic.
Thomas slips aside to discuss privately with his group about the possible rescue mission Popping up a Hut if needed for privacy, he'll say "The timing of these newbies is too handy. Suddenly proposing a resuce mission, when we don't even know where they came from? Sounds pretty damn much like a trap. Considering how callous and bloodthirsty being part of the PPA has made those people, I wouldn't be surprised if they offed the family, as soon as they suspected we were making a play to get them out, and if these 'friendly strangers' are baiting us, we'd be joining them in death. I say no to the rescue. After the parley is all done, THEN we could go and extradite his family, but not while they are expecting us"

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
“I can’t hear you, but I can see you whispering to each other. I am not an ally of the PPA, if that is why you don’t trust me. The main reason I am here is to wait for an opportunity to break into the PPA, because I think they have something I have been searching for for the past 7 years. Now, you want to break out this man’s family, fine. I only offered my help because I intend to break into the PPA.” After Zachary says this, he walks over to a corner and crosses his arms, waiting for an answer.
OOC - No one can see what's inside a Tiny Hut ( if that's what it takes to get privacy), otherwise - are you speaking out loudly as we discuss things, in order to make us hear you? :) The PPA isn't far, either.

"It's a coincidence, perhaps but if we don't get the prisoner to speak at the meeting, I'm not sure Corvallis will break its neutrality. I'm worried we're damned if we do and damned if we don't," Sarah replies. "We don't have to go now. Perhaps tomorrow? The PPA won't kill the family until their use as leverage is done."

The Senators get Zachary to cast his Zone of Truth until you get it to work then start to question the Knight. He exercises his right to silence when asked about breaking the cease fire.
The meeting puts this aside to possibly revisit at a latter date. It goes back to a long conversation about the sins of the PPA and the 'human sacrifices' of the MacKenzie pagans. That one almost starts a brawl. Lady Sandra knows how to push people's buttons (strangely that phrase is quickly falling out of common parlance).
Okay, if you are not going to do anything I'll wrap this up.

"Give us a moment to discuss it."
OOC: You might want to avoid using skills on fellow players. It has some nasty connotations. *grumbles*Bards*grumbles*
