"This needs to be a group effort. Let's get the details sorted with the others, first. Sending the familiar and using magic to scout would be a good idea," Sarah suggests. "That way we get a better idea of the risk, anyway."
Conor, feeling the mistrust coming from some of the group, speaks up "You are right to be cautious, it would be foolish not to suspect the PPA of sending their agents amongst you. I should know, I grew up in their midst, my sister one of their assassins until that one (he points at Sandra) sent her on a fool's mission that got her killed. I have no love for what the PPA stand for or have done, and I have made a promise to my sister that I will bring justice to those responsible for her death. I can help you in any action against the PPA, but any trust is to be earned, not blindly given. Test me with that Zone of Truth you have...you will see that I am not lying" Conor will willingly submit to such a test, choosing to fail any saving throw
OOC: Up to you guys to work out how you can utlise Conor's skills & motivation in the context of not 'knowing' whether or not he might be a PPA agent.......leave him out of any critical action that could leave you guys exposed if he did double cross you....or give him a task to do that is not in your plan so that his actions can be tested, but not impact on what you have planned if he is an agent of the PPA.....entirely up to you....hard to roleplay new players into the group but happy to roll with being tested...could be interesting.

"I don't blame you for hating the PPA, Connor and I am very sympathetic. Yachats has made a policy of making friends where we can. I'm willing to accept you. If we work well together then all is good," Sarah replies. "If the others feel a truth-telling is necessary, then I promise we won't pry beyond what's needed."
What she doesn't say is that Zachary is looking a little... shifty.
Max "Going at night probably means Lady Sandra and her pet assassin and other guards will be at their embassy (where the knight's family is kept). During the day they will be here. Unless someone can think of a way to have the family brought back here. Jumping them in transit could be easier."
"We could fake that our prisoner is in declining health and wants a last good-bye?" Sarah considers. "We'd still have to deal with whoever escorts him and the political fallout."

The political fallout falls into two categories. Does Corvallis stay neutral, join the PPA or join the Allies during the coming war. Does committing violence in the streets of Corvallis get you thrown in prison (they've got to catch you - or at least identify you first).
OCC Why don't we just try and snatch Sandra, cause a real ruckus, make it seem as though Corvalis tried to pull off the snatch. Shrug. Don't even have to be successful, just make sure the attempt is 'credited' to Corvalis.
Also, did Aleister learn anything about the questions he was interested in?
OOC: We need Corvallis to be friendly. Framing them will probably just piss them off. It's also pretty clear who would have the most to gain by such a move. Also, Sandra will be guarded very well, probably with her pet assassin. I think it's better if we either raid the PPA safehouse while Sandra and high level rogue are addressing the council or entice the family out or grab them when they are out shopping or something. If we're worried about these newbies, charm/truth them.

The PPA is at war with Yachats. But its a non-personal, we intend to conquer the world sort of thing. Doing anything to Lady Sandra would turn it into a burn your city to the ground and salt the earth sort of war. It would become the sort of war where your entire population is put to the sword.
The sorts of questions Aleister asks the Survivor revolve around what it is that Sandra feels he knows that would require his death to prevent that knowledge from seeing the light of day. No Comment Aleister will start his 'conversation' with the Survivor by pointing out that Sandra just tried to burn him to death, that Aleister and company prevented that. So what loyalty does he owe her, or the PPA? I am a Knight of the Protectorate What does he know about Sandra's sources of information in Corvalis? Nothing After all, somebody revealed not only that the Survivor was here, but where he was, at least generally. Does he have any knowledge of the long term plans and goals of the PPA? Conquer the Pacific North West Does he know of any 'influential' people in the PPA who might be 'persuaded' to share they concerns about the doings of the PPA? Traitors! Is there any resistance to Norman and his style of running things? More Traitors! Have any of the major players in the PPA been kept in line through blackmail, hostages, etc? No idea Would he be willing to renounce the PPA publicly? No, it would shame my family Did he realize that Sandra can not afford to let him live, now that she has tried to assassinate him? I have nothing else to say to the dying man.
"Have you considered my offer?" Zachary asks Sarah, as she seems to trust him the most.
"I say we do the rescue."
"Okay. When do you think I should leave?"
"And yes. There is more than one type of payment. A base of operations would be useful."
"This needs to be a group effort. Let's get the details sorted with the others, first. Sending the familiar and using magic to scout would be a good idea," Sarah suggests. "That way we get a better idea of the risk, anyway."
"Good plan. Shall we wait till morning then?"
"And I could scout as well. I did manage to sneak up on you all, and that was without using my invisibility spell."
Conor, feeling the mistrust coming from some of the group, speaks up "You are right to be cautious, it would be foolish not to suspect the PPA of sending their agents amongst you. during the night, when everyone is asleep, i will pull conner aside and take him to a different room.

The political fallout falls into two categories. Does Corvallis stay neutral, join the PPA or join the Allies during the coming war. Does committing violence in the streets of Corvallis get you thrown in prison (they've got to catch you - or at least identify you first).
