Scar- studying the sword you realize several things. The runes are only lit in the handle while you are raging, and it is obviously dwarven in origin. This is a Sword of the Hunter. I'll need a history roll to see you recognize the maker's mark on the blade (this roll is open to anyone you want to show the mark to).
I can't tooltip homebrewed items apparently.
SWORD OF THE HUNTER
Weapon (greatsword), uncommon (requires attunement by a requires attunement by a barbarian)
This great sword has a raging dwarf face carved into the pommel. While raging with this weapon glowing Dwarvish runes cover the handle and hilt. While raging, you can spend a bonus action to cast Hunter's Mark. Normal concentration checks apply. The spell ends if you are knocked unconscious, die, or end your rage.
Proficiency with a greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
Notes: requires attunement by a Barbarian, Heavy, Two-Handed
Bho- on your second trip through library, you start shuffling through some of the books and parchments. You recognize the arcane symbol of evocation pressed into a wax seal on two scrolls. They are scrolls of Scorching Ray and Melf's Acid Arrow.
To DM: Assuming its not too late(and if it is, the next part will follow the short rest for the party monk in the morn) to still do the before long rest interaction with the statue, Obsben would first take at least another few minutes pondering the hint “Let the sorcerous power illuminate my spirit.” before committing to anything. If things are not as first believed and casting fiery jazz hands might not be such a good idea, he'll try the other idea without much hesitance.
General Intelligence(?)(Plus Guidance): (1) plus 1).
If religion would work for the check, then add +1 to the roll instead of -.
But, if nothing else comes to mind, and he'll try to bend the weave to channel arcane energies into the runes, expending a spell slot if needed. And if nothing happens there, he asks for folk to step a ways back before trying to -- probably unwisely -- do the whole fiery jazz hands on the statue itself. Only after all that in frustration will he slap his forehead.
"The password statue from earlier! I remember! I think its the same, I do dare say!"He would exclaim to the others. "Though.. how do you answer a riddle like 'Let the sorcererous power illuminate my spirit'?" He would ask the others in the room.
Obsben is much the same way as Scar about passing out after any last minute experimentation at the bugbear's side. But come morning he reheats some of the fire snake stir fry from last for folk. Only after everyone is nice and fed will the busybody halfling go around offering at least two castings of Mage Armor along with re-applying his own. "So, uhm.. where to next?"He would ask after breakfast, rubbing his hands together almost excited for a change.

Geth, having discovered the transmutation aura around the circle, looks closer at the runes and digs in his mental repositories of arcane knowledge for any hint about what such a circle might be used for.
Arcana (advantage due to knowing the school, maybe?): 22
"Illuminate my spirit sounds like light to me," he says. "Anybody know a light spell?"
OoC: Hope my play for advantage is reasonable, since the first roll was an 8.
If both Geth and Obsben are standing by the magic circle when either of you say aloud the phrase "Let the sorcererous power illuminate my spirit" There is an immediate response from the statue. An illusory flame washes over the two of you coming from the mouth of the statue. It is not hot, nor painful. This effect will give you advantage on a CHA check in the next 24 hours.
Scar- (11d20 lol, thats quite the history check) You do not recognize the mark on the blade, other than to know it is masterfully engraved, A dethek D fashioned into the likeness of a hammer.

Obsben shudders as the magic washes over him and Geth. "Okay that wasn't weird at all, I do dare say! Maybe we stop playing with statues now and go fighty fighty fight more shadow things and so on." He rubs the back of his neck. Once everyone seems ready to go and probably following the path Boh scouted out last, Obsben make sure the dragonshield is good and strapped on tight again before following along.

Unless anyone wants to make ability checks along the way, we can cut back to the locked door, Bho encountered during his scouting. Nothing has changed at all in the scant hours since he has been through here.

The wooden door is pretty well made, definitely not of goblin construction. While locked it does not appear to be trapped in any way. Though, several moments of fiddling with the lock frustrates Bho, who just can't seem to find that last tumbler.

The door splinters under the weight of Anton's first kick and a long crack appears along the lock side of the door. The second kick does not catch the door as unaware as the first, but in door weakened condition it collapses.
The room beyond appears to be a study. A stout wooden desk and chair sit on the dirt covered floor. Several pale shrubs cling to life under the glowing mushrooms on the ceiling, which also illuminate books shelves lining the north and east wall. There is a closed door on the southern wall.

“You know Anton, i could have tried a second time before you got loud.”
I search the rooms for traps and hiden compartments first: floor, shelfs, desk and door. Then i have a look if i find something interresting within all those books.
I keep an eye on those plants, just in case any of them comes to live.

I pass both spell scrolls on to Obsben, before we depart. Then i lead them all down the coridors to the locked door.
First i check the door for traps, if i don’t find any i try if i can get a glimps of what is hidden behind the door, before i try to pick the lock.
