Belzo grimaces more so over the sight than the story. "A grim tale, to say the least... And one of no doubt many other chapters of the same book in regards to this Strahd."He shakes his head, and with some effort looks away from the scarred elf(?). "So back to this Amber Temple. Which way are we to go?"

Belzo rubs his chin. "Hmm... Doubt prices are much different here than elsewhere, least I seek out a potion of healing somewhere." He chuckles mirthlessly. "Be that as it may. I, at least, am good to go at a moment. "

"Prices here are actually the best we have found thus far in Barovia, however we have not found potions or any magic items available to purchase as of yet. I am ready to go as well. We could acquire a cart and horses for the journey, but I am also content with walking."
“We still have the horse and cart, do we not?” Hadrian asks. “Let’s see if we can offload the throne before we go. Perhaps the Burgomaster is in need of one?”
And after a quick return to the tavern to bid farewell to Ireena, you depart Vallaki for the Amber Temple.

The first day of your journey passes without incident.

The second day of your journey passes without incident.
On the third day of your journey, there is a very uneasy quiet as you pass through the land of Barovia. The wolves are silent and the ravens are nowhere to be seen. As you continue to travel, the sky gets more overcast than usual, with dark grey clouds coming in to cover the sun. All of you, even the ever-optimistic Fae, feels some sense of foreboding, as if something bad were to happen today.
And it does.
In the middle of the day, you see a tall man standing in the middle of the road. He ignores all of your attempts to call out to him and as you draw closer, your horses get increasingly scared until they stop and refuse to move any further. As you exit the cart in an attempt to get your horses to move forward, the man approaches you all and you see the dark, hateful visage of the devil Strahd, flanked by three direwolves.
"So, you are the foreigners that have entered my land. Let's see if you possess more mettle than the other fools that have entered Barovia and tried to take what is mine."
OOC: As Strahd is a legendary opponent, with legendary actions that allow him to act at any moment, we will not be using block initiative for this fight.

"Tattered strands of Limbo lost upon all, heed my call." Belzo chants and pantomime's taking a pinch from it. Seeming to accept the motion as truth, a part of it rises up like some senous, liquid glob that starts maniacally shifting through various colors before being hurled forward at a direwolf with a casual hand gesture. Immediately after if he hadn't already, Belzo steps just a little ways back if doing so puts more bodies or the cart between him and the wolves.
Action: (2nd level)Limbo Shard Attack: 15 Damage: 9 ??? at Dire Wolf 3.
Even as it hits(if it hits), seeing it rapidly decay in intensity the sorcerer snaps a finger, seeming to cause the warbling mass of energy to suddenly explode.
(Spending one sorcerery Point for Empowered Metamagic to re-roll the 2d8 and one of the d6s(2) for a new rolls of: 5, 4, 5. New damage total: 17 Force Damage on Direwolf3)
Belzo's blade takes a sizable chunk out of Direwolf 3.
Strahd uses one of his Legendary Actions to move up to Fae without provoking an Attack of Opportunity and looks at Doremor. "I am no mere man and these are no mere wolves, fool."
Direwolf 3 is going to attack Doremor.
Attack: 15 Damage: 7
If it hits, make a DC13 Strength Save or fall prone.
Fae's eyes go wide. "That's so sad..." she whispers, hands tightening on the straps of her pack.
