Fae puts herself between Elyse and the spawn, eyes flaring with anger. For once, the cheerful, bouncy eladrin is cutting a rather frightening figure, eyes burning with anger and hands clenched into fists, although her short stature and messy hair counteract the effect somewhat. "Turn around. And walk. Out. The door. You've done enough." She turns the glare momentarily on Hadrian. "Both of you."
Enialis, dagger at the ready, get near to defend his sister if necessary as he says, "Stop being an idiot and fighting something that isn't your fight and a fight you cannot win. Leave now."(Ready Action: Step In the Way to take a hit if the spawn goes after someone.)
Fae has spent her turn making a rather firm call for a cease in hostilities and Enialis has made his call, as well as getting ready to step in front of any oncoming blow, should hostilities continue. Hadrian and Elyse are up, the Elves are calling for it to stop. What will you do?
Looking down at Fae, Elyse calmly begins to speak. "Child, you still do not understand. Look at that thing, it is no longer a person. The beast tried to feed on my and steal my vitality for itself. It is beyond hope, and if Hadrian and I couldn't deal with it imagine what would happen if it got out and attacked the men, women, and children of this village."
Fae crosses her arms, eyes narrowing. "I. Am. Not. A. Child. I am several times older than you, and duh it tried to eat you if you attacked it. If you'd left it alone, you wouldn't have been attacked." She points at the cowering spawn. "He's hiding from four of us, I don't think he would mount a one-man attack on the village. This isn't your life. You can't just barge into this man's church, when he's offered you a place to sleep, and kill his child. It's wrong, and it's arrogant to think that with one hour of time you know better than someone who has spent a year here with him. He hasn't hurt anyone in that time, and believing that him doing so is inevitable, and that there's no hope for him is just as short-sighted and wrong as someone deciding you were evil just because you had horns."
Elyse scoffs quietly at Fae's reaction to being called a child. However, her disposition changes as soon as Fae started talking about her and mentioned her horns. There is a clear sadness in her voice as she says "Fine. You win. I can see that I do not anymore have the strength to take this beast alone and you all will not help me. But I wonder. If you are so insistent, so sure that you know this thing's nature better than I, would you be comfortable being alone with it? Or do you understand deep down that if given the option it would steal away your life with glee?"
Elyse turns around and walks out, stopping only to pause for a moment near Hadrian to say "Thank you for your aid. I'm glad someone in this group is still able to see reason." She then continues to walk out and tries to get far away from this place. (Could she rent a room somewhere?)
Fae walks out too, storming past all of them and going to get her bag with the egg in it. She picks it up and slumps against the wall next to the door, blinking back angry tears (She would beat Elyse back because Unarmored Movement).
As you move to leave, you see the horrified face of Father Donavich, as well a disheveled Ismark and Ireena, and a very sheepish looking Phanuel. "I'm sorry, but you were too loud and I couldn't stop him from coming down." "I offer you eternal rest for the Burgomaster and a place to stay for the night and this is how you repay me?! By coming down here to murder my son, like some godless brigands! Get OUT! You are just as monstrous and cruel as the devil Strahd that did this to him!"The priest is very irate and is in no mood to hear any of you out."I am very sorry, Father."Ismark shepherds you all out and back into the village. "We will stay out my house tonight, before heading out to Vallaki."Between guest rooms, couches in the outer halls, and Ismark pulling out a cot in his room, there's enough space for everyone to sleep in the Burgomasters Mansion. Ireena pulls aside Hadrian and Elyse for a quick talk. "I have...mixed feelings about what you were doing tonight. On one hand, killing Donavich's son will bring him great pain. But on the other hand, he was getting no better, and they were both suffering every day. I pass no judgement upon you, but if the devil Strahd should turn me, I ask that you kill me quickly. But I wish that you did not choose to do it in the middle of the night, when I was trying to get some sleep." Ismark pulls aside Fae and talks to her, offering some comfort after the night's events. "You have a bright spirit. That is very rare in these dark lands and I hope that does not get extinguished by the darkness that has broken so many souls. I appreciate how you encouraged Father Donavich to not give up hope and I truly do hope for his sake that the Morninglord restores his son. But false hope can drive men mad and I pray that your bright spirit does not burn out. Sleep well, we will need you and your companions at full strength tomorrow for the journey to Vallaki."
Fae cradles the egg to her chest tightly. "I'm not a child," she just whispers angrily. "And I'm not an idiot. Being happy, having hope is not idiotic or blind." She shoots an angry look in Elyse's direction. "I'm so sick of everyone dismissing me just because I smile."
Enialis let’s out a deep sigh as the fighting continues as he comments aloud, “Why do people who barely live a hundred years think they know so much more? You say you know creatures behavior better than I but on what authority. Because all you’ve proven so far is that you’re so arrogant in your own strength that you just run into danger. Why can you not stop and think? What are you trying to prove? Because do far, all you’ve proven is that you need to be rescued and coddled and told you’re right. Or are you just going to continue to be in the bear’s trap and think your arrogant strength is enough to set you free.”
"Leave it, Eni," Fae says quietly. "Nobody knew what he would do. But that's not a basis for assuming the worst." Once they arrive at the house, Fae will try to sneak off to a room away from the others.

(Hadrian is aware of where you are, but the mansion is big enough for you to find of your own. Ismark will eventually track you down in 22 minutes to give the aforementioned peptalk.

Once they reach the mansion. Hadrian turns to Fae, his face full of sorrow, but finds that she has disappeared. Kicking himself mentally, he mutters “idiot” under his breath, and goes to find a room and a bed.

Before find a bed, Hadrian goes to find Fae, waiting a few minutes to enter the room. "May I speak with you?" He asks. "I fear my sense of obligation was misplaced. I saw it in the face of Father Donavich, and I heard it in your words, before we even descended to that gods-forsaken undercroft. You spoke truth, and I didn't listen; and for that, I can only say that I am truly sorry.
"Regardless of my personal feelings about Donavich's faith and the nature of his son's affliction, I am thoroughly ashamed at my involvement in what we just attempted."
Fae looks up after a moment as Hadrian speaks. She blinks, some of the angry tears in her eyes vanishing. "Thank you," she says with a small smile, still cradling the egg to her chest.
Hadrian nods. He turns halfway to leave, then hesitates. “I have never before been in a place as dark as this. But of this I have no doubt: that light you carry inside you will be needed again before we are done.”
If Fae says nothing else, Hadrian will go and find a bed to crash into.
