Genren will settle back in with the group laying down before nudging whoever is next to him. He whispers “Oy whoever there leader is, they’ve got a Nasty looking Hell Hound standing guard. Definitely a magic user of some skill. Second in command’s a drow with a coughing issue, he got 4 thugs in his room. And was spitting up some nasty stuff.”
He pauses for a moment looking back and forth before continuing to report
“there’s one crate in their store room I might want to take a peak or or just steal if anyone is up for it?” He grins awaiting a response.
"They're leader is definitely bad news... has a hell hound of sorts standing guard, almost caught me. I've got a pretty good understanding of the rest of the base so we can chat more later. Let me know when you're ready to make your move."
Genren whispers to the halfling, propping himself up a bit and going into his meditative state to recover his energy before the next stage of their mission. (I'll wait to see what everyone else is thinking before continuing on my end)
(Sorry for the delay on my end!! Crazy busy few weeks at work!!)
"How tough do they look? Think the four of us can fight them all in one go? Or will we have to try some sort of sabatoge or sneak attack over a couple of days?" Wakka asked quietly once Genren reported back what he saw. "And how nasty of a dog are we talking about?" He then proceeded to hold his hands apart and slowly expand them out until Genren told him to stop.
"It would be a risk since we're clearly outnumbered... but if we divide and conquer, take out the vice captain first then move to their leader? Might be worth a shot." he pauses paranoid anyone might be listening in "The hound was definitely powerful, but something we can manage. It was the first time in a while I thought I couldn't outrun or hide from something... Luckily I did. I'd be more concerned with who's powerful enough to keep one as a casual pet hehe. I'll move with you all, I'm at full strength."
Wakka closed his eyes in thought for a long moment before replying. "Okay. Tomorrow night we go after the vice captain. If we can keep it quiet, we wait another day or two before going after the leader. If that fails... well, we'll improvise..." as he spoke the last word, his face twisted into a weird mix of grimace and smile.
Tallow woke up as always with a big smile on his face. After being filled in on the night before, he said, "I'm up for anything. I'll make breakfast first. No big decisions on an empty stomach. You want me to wake everyone up?"
(I think so!) "Ay let's get food going and try to learn more about this crew before tonight." He equips his gear and peeks out to see what everyone is doing. 27 (Perception)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

After a quick meal, the few cultists who have taken a liking to you grab you and say, "C'mon. Best to be on our way before the boss comes looking for the slackers...It's a fishing day." The cultist laughs dryly and heads out towards the sea. Anchored just offshore is a dilapidated ship, looking more like a wreckage that barely floats. "There we go - you're rowing, plebes." They jump into a rowboat (wait...is this YOUR rowboat?!!?) and look at you, pointing to the four oars.
Genren squints his eyes gesturing towards the boat "uh we fishing in that boys? I'm better off walking out there haha" He reluctantly gets into the boat to not break his cover. "let's go get some lunch ey?"
Tallow excitedly jumps into the boat and grabs a set of oars. "I'm way stronger than I look." He chatters incessantly about all of his favorite fish. (OOC - assuming we set off, how far out are we going? How many people are with us?)
The rowboat is full, all of you plus six more. You are rowing out to a ramshackle ship where other pirate/cultists await. From there, you find out, you are going out further to hunt down a recently spotted merchant ship and lure it into the area where the seas got really rough. Then you'll capture the crew and take over the ship, bringing it in to the caves to be stripped like the other one. You'll also have to row on the bigger ship...The cultist in charge of this trip is a big dragonborn with scars all over his scaled body, and muscles under the scars. The other cultists snap to when he barks out orders.
At least Manfred's singing help pass the time, and give you a good tune to row with! (Anything you want to do before catching up to the merchant?)
Manfred will use Prestidigitation woven into his playing to try and convince the (probably superstitious) sailors the boat is haunted, to try and dissuade them from their nefarious goal. He’ll make the boat creak more often, will make the water taste like brine, cause the smell of burning to permeate the boat, etc…
The Talos cultists have been thoroughly desensitized to creepy occurrences, the smell of burning flesh, and screams in the night. In fact, you hear a few of the sailors on deck approve of the new sensations because it "adds to the effect" they're looking for...
Within an hour, the crew is underway and hunting for their prey. Before mid-day, they find her - a large wooden corsair with three 80-foot-tall masts with sails billowing in the light breeze, about three nautical miles away!
The Dancing Delight
"Look alive, ye scurvey dogs! There's our whale - let's harpoon her and bring her in! You new lot - go man the oars below decks and get ready to row like your lives depended on it. Because it does..."
(Sorry Aelas - I didn't see your post!) This is going to be a modified sea chase / combat. Stats on the ship are here if you're interested!
The ships will start 1 nautical mile (6,000 feet) away from each other.
Each 'turn' is 10 minutes long, and there will be a maximum of 6 turns (1 hour of game time).
Ships normally travel 5k feet each 10 minute turn. As an action (up to 3 times), the captain can exhort the crew to work harder and drive the ship forward faster.
As an action (up to 3 times), the first mate or bos'n can direct the crew’s firing, aiding in aiming one of the ship’s weapons.
On its turn, the ship can take 3 actions, choosing from the options below. It can take only 2 actions if it has fewer than twenty crew and only 1 action if it has fewer than ten. Currently the pirate ship has 25 crew and 5 officers, including the captain, first mate, and bos'n.
Fire Ballista
Fire Mangonel
Move
You can each take 1 specific action (and 1 potential bonus action) on each turn. You may take any of your normal actions (attack/cast spell/etc) and attempt to aid or sabotage either ship. (Write out what you intend to do each round and how you plan to accomplish it.) You have the element of surprise and may go first this round!

zzzZZZZZ zzzzzZZZZZZ
'Hrngh...' mumbles Manfred as he starts to wake up, having fallen asleep while Genren was away, Hell Hound's howling and all!
'Whdddid you say, Genren?' he asks, starting to sit up and look around. 'Was just having a quick powernap so as to be ready for action...'

So...is the plan to hang out with the cultists for another day, and then try to go after the Second in Command at night?

(*Gulp* Let's do it!)
"Alright, let's do it." Wakka agreed before preparing himself for another day of (presumably) hard labor.

Manfred eyes the oars, then the pirates, then his short stature. ‘Umm, sorry guys, I don’t row - I do provide entertainment though…’
He strums his lute, letting the tones resonate around his listeners… (Performance: 24)
