Gil would smile back to the three of them before looking around the room. "Don't mind us, we are just looking around a bit. Can you believe this is my first time here?" He would say with a smile. "It is very beautiful in here." Gil would add as he makes his way to the northern door. He would then attempt to open the door.
You enter a small room occupied by a female human masseuse.
"Greeting, I am named Qurmilah. Do you wish a massage?" She says as you enter. But her look changes as she sees the rest of the group following behind.

"No thanks... um... we're ah, well we're new recruits into the service of our lord," Darvin says with a sheepish demeanor. "We were told to come here for an indoctrination session? They told us to make our way... inside here and then... down? I'm afraid they didn't tell us much more than that. I don't see any stairs though. Do you know where we're meant to go?"

"I think what my friend here is trying to say.." Gil would add pushing in front of Darvin, is that we were hired through a ummm.... contact... to collect information on the people responsible for killing our.. fellow brothers and sisters... in the warehouse on the outskirts of the city. We have collected the information as to who is responsible and were hoping you would take us to your boss..." Gil would say holding his ear in his hand, twisting it innocently. "Please?"
(OOC: I rolled first so I could RP my persuasion check appropriately bad if needed LOL )
The woman looks nervously at you and you see her glance quickly at the north wall and then look away.
You look to see where she looked and realize there is something not quite right with the wall.
"I don't really know what you are talking about" she says quickly but then moves past you to leave the room.
Examining the wall you find a secret door that swings inward when pushed. A foul, sewer-like stench greets you when you open the secret door. Behind the door, a staircase descends 20 feet. The stairs feature smooth stone steps and brick walls. Two sputtering torches in wall sconces illuminate the staircase, but the dungeon below is dark.
"Nice work Darvin." Gil would say with a smile. "Although I would have liked a massage... my joints have been killing me latley." The msll creature would say as he rubbed the back of his neck. "She must have left to take a lunch break but I am sure she wouldn't mind if we made our way downstairs.." He would say with a smile. "She seemed nice.. I doubt her wondering off will be a problem" He would say as he begins strolling down the stairs.
Darvin taps the glove on his shield-hand, and it begins to glow. As the group moves forward he holds his shield off to the side so the light can shine ahead, but if he senses movement ahead he will hide the light behind the shield.
Whistler takes note of the female masseuses voice but otherwise doesn't say anything. As they head down the passage, holding his sheathed sword in his off hand, he draws the sword slightly, to provide just enough light to follow by.
You make your way down the passage. The 5-foot-wide corridor has an 8-foot-high ceiling. The room at the bottom opens up to a 9-foot-high ceiling, braced with wooden beams. The chamber at the bottom of the staircase is empty, unlit, and flooded with foul-smelling water to a depth of 2 feet.
"UUgghhh... This stuff is practically up to my waist.." The small Verdan would say as he trudged through the stinky liquid. He would reach into his bag and activate his driftglobe to cast light before allowing it to hover over his shoulder. Gil would then make his way to the west side of the room and look down the small seemingly dead-end tunnel before looking to the others. "You all see anything interesting in here? I think we have to go the other way.." he would say with one hand on his staff and the other holding his nose. He would also snap his fingers as his spectral bat pops into existance next to him. "Hey, help me look for anything of value or anything that might be a threat alright?" he would ask as he continues to look around in the sewer.

Darvin stays close to Gil and his familiar, ready to protect the squishy wizard in case of surprises.
(OoC: Mechanically, we can't be surprised as long as everyone stays within 30 ft of Darvin, due to the rapier of warning: "you and any of your companions within 30 feet of you can’t be surprised, except when incapacitated by something other than nonmagical sleep.")
Gilbert enters the small room on the west side. He finds the room to be empty and is just about to leave when he finds a door hidden in the south wall.
"HEY! I found a hidden door over here!" Gil would shout as he makes his way closer to the hidden opening. The small verdan would prod the floor with each step through the foul water with his staff, making sure not to stumble or step on anything that might hurt him.
Whistler slowly pushes the door open and it makes small waves in the pungent water. Looking inside he sees something floating in the water in another flooded room.
The bathers smile at the small verdan and the man gives a hearty laugh. "Yes, very much so."

Tibi just wipes the moisture from his feathers and fans himself with his hat obviously a bit uncomfortable in all the humidity.

Tibi looks at the water with distaste and immediately launches into the air flying slowly above the party until they reach the other side.
