"I am not assured that we did stop that creature in time..." Kurama commented as he pointed out towards the movement stirring in the water below; he kept his other hand pressed against one of the many wounds he received during the battle.
Perception (to see if he spots anything in the water): 14
OOC: If we're still in combat, Kurama will drink a potion of healing, if not he'll wait till a short/ long rest to heal.
As you look out, you see one of the creatures floating with its top half above the water completely sucked beneath the surface. Again, ripples extend outward from the point where it was taken down. The boat rocks ever-so-slightly.

Effort, not being hurt at all, will simply find a place to hide. "Pip, you should do the same. If something is going to attack the ship, you'll be best if you can catch it unawares with your arrows."
Stealth: 14(with guidance) (Ignore the sleight of hand check, that was a misclick nothingburger)

Lazar notices the second body pulled into the depths. He looks quickly to the remainder of his crew. "To the emer-"
Cadmael calls out to you in a panic, Effort. It's not even words, just a feeling of terror.
The ship lurches forward as something pushes on it from below. You hear a deafening explosion of water from the front of the ship as an enormous tentacle rises up, unfurling itself as it throws one of the dead creatures.
A second tentacle emerges from the starboard side, smashing down into the deck. Attack: 20 Damage: 20
Luck check: 1-Brask 2-Effort or Pip 3-Kurama 4-Crewman ... 4

You're partially hidden, which is why I paired your luck check with Pip. :) Kurama can have advantage.
Both blasts connect with one of the enormous tentacles, although the first sputters and the energy seems to evaporate as it hits the wet, slimy appendage. The second forces the beast to recoil a bit, but otherwise leaves no discernible injury.
Kurama was momentarily rooted in place as the massive tentacles emerged from the ocean and started causing mayhem! Only Effort's blasts woke him up and brought him back to the present. Unsure what to do, he decided to charge the nearest one and attack it while he wracked his brain for what kind of creature it could be; hoping to distract it enough to let the injured crew get away.
As the boat rocks, Kurama struggles to keep his footing while attacking. One of his blows does land, connecting squarely with the massive tentacle, but the flesh barely moves.
You can vaguely recall one of your monk brethen reading up on ancient creatures of the depths - he was really intrigued by the natural world - but you can't recall any specifics and certainly not any weaknesses.
Brask's adrenaline-fueled attacks break through the tentacle's surface, spraying bits of a viscous, dark blood onto the broken deck of the ship. The appendage recoils in pain as the other rears back for another attack.
It swings down at Brask:
Attack: 28 Damage: 15
Brask, give me a DC18 strength check.
Two more tentacles bubble up from the depths and smash into the ship.
Attack: 19 Damage: 21
Attack: 29 Damage: 20
Lazar regains his balance. "The skiff. Now!" The rest of the crew begin rushing to the front of the boat, attempting to dodge the tentacles and pieces of the deck jutting out.
Effort staggers as the ship shudders under the tentacled assault. She raises her voice. "Stop fighting them and follow Lazar!" she yells at the others, chasing after the crew. As she was, she waves her wand, feeling power flood back into her (and regaining a pact slot).
As the crew rush by, the rest of you turn to see that Brask has been picked up by one of the tentacles. It folds in on itself a bit, with Brask wrapped up at the end...and then it unfurls itself and launches the minotaur into the air. He soars off the left side of the ship and you watch in horror as he splashes down into the dark waters.
Effort, you realize that your small vessel - the one you were promised by Lazar - is still dragging off the back of the boat. The crew rushing to the front seems strange.

You have time to down a potion.

And is unsuccessful. The body catches him squarely across the chest, and they are both rocketed through the railing of the ship and into the sea. 11

Effort grimaces and blasts the tentacle attacking the deck of the ship. "Try using fire!" she yells to anyone who will listen.
Blast 1 with Adv: 25 (If not from stealth, then from Cadmael), 5 damage
Blast 2: 25, 13 damage
(If she had ADV from stealth, Cadmael will give the help action to Kurama next)

A couple questions:
Zoldier’s Curse of the Crimson Throne: DM/ Redii || Zoldier's Strange Aeon's: DM
It would be easy to guess that this thing is very sturdy, so any single attack probably wouldn't have much effect.
The one tentacle that smashed into the deck is still there, mid-ship. Kurama could get to that on his turn, certainly.
You can roll a history check since this would be something Kurama might have read about but certainly never encountered in real life.
DM - Above & Below
All of the above sounds good :)

Brask is up!

Brask's philosophy is that if you hit anything hard enough and often enough, it will die. He runs at the large tentacle and:
Attack: 25 Damage: 15
Attack: 23 Damage: 11
Re-roll that 1 damage die for a 5
So fifteen points each strike.
Brask's adrenaline-fueled attacks break through the tentacle's surface, spraying bits of a viscous, dark blood onto the broken deck of the ship. The appendage recoils in pain as the other rears back for another attack.
