Yeemik replies to Elra "well, there are still two Azzinax, ...somehow," referring to the dead goblin in robes they found back in the spider den.

To Arvel he replies "oh, you should, but you're going to stick around and help us deal with Targor and the hobgoblins, RIGHT?  Like you promised, so we can keep the castle?"

"Well just say when, boss.  We going now, or after dark?"

"Azzinax? Is that like a priest?"

Yeemik just puts his head down thinking of the dead goblin.  Fraac chimes in "he's a goblin."  "That's his name.  I guess he's kinda while you humies would call a priest.  Why?"

Yeemik then chimes in "Fraac, we found Azzi, dead.  Spiders got him."

"No, he's back at the castle.  I just saw him.  Plus, the spiders leave us alone."

"Exactly."

Fraac looks confused.

Elra looks just as confused. "Do you want help with this... Azzinax... Yeemik?"

Yeemik just shrugs and asks "how could there be two?"  Fraac looks complete confused.

"It might be out of line," Elra says. "But I can try to compel the truth out of him if we get the chance."

Yeemik sadly shakes his head yes, that might be good.

Elra smiles and nods, "I can't make any promises that it will work fully, but I can certainly try."

Arvel kneels down and his skin becomes green.

"Right boss? All I need in life is my trusty dagger and I can figure out an angle that works for me!"

"Wait..." Elra says, "Arvel... you can turn into the spider right?"

"It depends. Do you mean it in the 'Distract Grol so we can jump him all at once in an ambush' sense or in the 'convince the dragon to attack the castle' sense?"

Yeemik doesn't seem to love the impression and his companions just look on in awe.

"I meant more like, maybe ask the dragon to stop bothering these goblins. Or maybe get the hobgoblins to leave?"

"It's a good plan and I like where your head is at. I'm afraid I'm quite the corrupting influence on you. But we have to think of Gundren right now. The time we're wasting isn't our own. We're better off if I try to trick Grol.

Yeemik, what can you tell me about Grol? Specifically how they and the Spider interact?"

Ethan listens to the back and forth,

"If we could go in pretending to be guests of that Spider guy, maybe we could get in close to the King and get a surprise attack, when less super dangerous creatures and support are around."

"Assuming The Spider didn't already tell Grol guy who we are," Elra says.

"The Spider is most likely unaware of my capabilities as a mimic. If I were to pretend you were my prisoners, that might be the more believable lie. Our new goblin allies can help sell that better as well. Once we get close, I'll send Krikket in invisibly to make sure that Grol isn't speaking with the Spider at the same moment I'm trying to impersonate him."

Arvel's image shifts, his armor becoming robes and his new illusory ability turns his walking stick into the Spider's staff.

"How do I look?"

"Hmmm, true, he could have remote communications capabilities..."

Ethan looks at Yeemik and his friends,

"Yeemik, do you or any of your friends, know if that Spider guy ever sent magical communication to the King?"

To Ethan's question Yeemik shrugs and just says "don't know".  Fraac looks equally stumped, as does the silent goblin.

To Arvel Yeemik says "ah, well he just sorta showed up a while back."  "Thought the King would just smash em good and take his fancy clothes and stuff, but he brought Grol that weird cat as a gift and said he'd work for the King and make the Cragmaw tribe rich if we'd help him with some stuff, like catching that dwarf on the road.  He made all the spiders defend the forrest too, so no one messes with the King's territory, oh and he brought the orcs to work for the King.  He even had his spiders catch that big owl thing for him to play with."

Fraac says "he's just suckin' up to Grol to get whatever he's looking for."

Yeemik continues "yeah, he calls 'em 'Great King' all the time and stuff, but I bet he could send all those spiders in and get rid of Grol any time.  He's just using us to find something out there in the forest, I think.  Not sure what.  Don't tell the King that, though.  He thinks he's in charge, and the Spider told him we'd all be rich if we helped.  Funny thing is Azzi asked Maglubiyet and said it would come true, so we stopped worrying 'bout it."
