"Aaw, crap! Looks like we'll have to rematch another time. They've summoned us to the Granit Palace."
Team1 and Team2, the Granit Palace now awaits you!
You all make your separate ways to the High Peak, past the Temple of Moradin and the Grand Observatory. Finally you reach the colossal doors to the Palace, carved from the Mountain Peak itself.
Dwarven Defender Guards in full plate armor line the open Drawbridge, making a path for you to follow all the way to the Ancestral Halls, where Haræd Hammerthorn sits on an ornate stone throne. Around him are many people: Granit Clan soldiers, Human Knights, and the 15th Alliance Airforce Squadron, with Seleth Bylian, and Grolahk P'ar. Right next to Haræd Hammerthorn is a royal Messenger, bearing the colors of the Adamantine Clan.
They are all in the middle of a heated debate...Seleth Byllian is speaking to the Granit Clan Chieftain.
"I'm telling you, Jarl Haræd, there are more to these attacks than just Gnolls! And Sir Dauntley of Melassone is still missing. At this point, it's safe to assume he is dead...and there is no news from your 5th Platoon in Pinekeep...this is all part of a greater plan...someone, or something, is using these Gnolls to terrorize local towns...slowly weakening the Countryside around the city, therefore cutting off vital food sources and supplies...Jarl Harræd, if we do not act soon, they will starve us to death!"
The Chieftain of the Granit Clan stares unflinchingly at the Elvish Alliance Commander.
"It is a classic Ruse, to draw our Forces out into the open and out of the City. I will not risk the lives of Twenty Thousand innocent Citizens, or countless brave Granit Clan Warriors over such a brash decision, Commander..."
So, Edeleth thinks, not a social summons at all. He ought to have considered the fact that, since two different areas had been attacked by gnolls, it might be a wider-reaching series of attacks than the incidents the two Hanging Chicken teams had been involved with.
No doubt the Granit clan hopes to debrief them for more information on what they had encountered: and it sounds as if they do indeed know something the dwarves do not. It also sounds alarmingly as if the dwarves need a private army, and he hopes they have no strange ideas about forcing them into service.

Saerirra stood with the group, listening in to the Granit Clan leader talking with the soldiers, saying nothing. Looking between her companions, some seemed to be excited to be here, others a bit apprehensive. She felt closer to the latter herself, worried she might be pressed into a role similar to her parents but for a different military than her people's, The Silver Clan.
As the two at the throne talk of the gnoll attacks, Saerirra gave no expression of surprise. What she and the group she traveled with discovered was far more than a mere gnoll attack, and the fact that the other group seems to have their own run-in with a pack of gnolls seems far from coincidence.
Saerirra stood nervous and anxious, her arms crossed over her stomach. She had hoped to have appeared in a court, but as a performer, not a soldier. She also knew she was not going to let anyone else be harmed by more gnolls if she could help it.

The architecture was impressive or, at least, quite interesting and while the group was proceeding in to the meeting place, Laievis was trying to see as much as possible, comparing design and construction to those he already saw in other places he visited.
People, they were supposed to meet, already looked tiresome - caught in the heated argument. Laievis liked to think about himself to be an observer rather than a meddler. Oblivious to internal politicking of present parties, he could only judge their behaviour, a bit surprised by dwarven Commander's ignorance about the simplest rule "if you do not care about your farming lands and people - you do not eat". These were not his lands, sure, but two days in Meryn's Temple filled him, as usual, with desire to help every living being, even foreign to him personally. And his sympathy towards Elvish Alliance Commander had nothing to do with kin-empathy, he was sure about it!

Zyman joins his companions in making preparations for the invitation he received. He can’t help but wonder what all this is about, after all they must have made quite an impression with the whole hanging chicken inn debacle, but he didn’t expect that it was enough to get the authorities’ attention. And though by no means an expert on the local politics, he felt that the “saving” pf Oakfields was either not significant enough or too recent to be the reason for an audience. That pretty much only left the option of an unrelated task that the local adventurers would now be entrusted with.
He had planned to head East with the Gamily, but whatever this was might be a good means of training and keeping himself occupied with things beyond his studies. He had to remember to tend to the fledgling bonds of camaraderie with his friends. What a funny thing that was- that he would actually ever say that to himself...
