OOC: How do I make poison? I have poisoners kit, but I can’t seem to find in in the rule books.
OOC:
Player's handbook on crafting items: "For every day of downtime you spend crafting, you can craft one or more items with a total market value not exceeding 5 gp, and you must expend raw materials worth half the total market value. If something you want to craft has a market value greater than 5 gp, you make progress every day in 5-gp increments until you reach the market value of the item. For example, a suit of plate armor (market value 1,500 gp) takes 300 days to craft by yourself.
DMG p 278: During downtime between adventures a character can use the crafting rules in the Player's Handbook to create basic poison if the character has proficiency with a poisoner's kit. At your discretion the character can create other kinds of poison. Not all poison ingredients are available for purchase, and tracking down certain ingredients might form the basis of an entire adventure.
Basic Poison apparently sells for 100gp, so it might cost 50gp and 20 days to make, unless Grotex rules otherwise. (I cut-and-pasted from internet discussions, don't have my books with me at the moment, so not 100% certain what I posted was accurate and up-to-date.)

At any rate, he hoped the strange smell surrounding Rosri was not a new cologne the halfling had purchased at Ruskors, because if he was going to smell like that permanently, Edeleth would need to keep upwind of him on their next journey. It was not a fragrance he thought he could get used to.

OOC: Sorry for the recent inactivity, but I'm currently in the process of moving back to Austin TX. Which means that I will be back with my main role-playing group of 15 years. I'm filling them in right now on what's happening in Talaveroth, so that I can have them help me expand the World and the Storyline. And since I will be moving in a nice big house with some roleplayer friends, I'm about to have a real D&D "home base" in the real world, which I plan to put to use for this Online Campaign. That means I will get access to more ressources, electronic and human, to actually upload maps/pics/artwork, and so you guys may be able to interact with the original Talaveroth badasses who helped shape the World such as you know it. So hold on to your butts, its about to get epic up in here...
By the way, I meant to ask everyone: Where is everyone from in the real world? We've been at it for at least 2months now, and I love the fact that we have people from all over the Globe. So far I know we have players from the U.S, Sweden, Swizerland, and Brazil (that I know so far). I myself was born and raised in France (Vive le Donjon de Naheulbeuk!), but I've lived in Texas for the past 15 years.
I love imagining the characters as having a few vague traits/accents from their player's homelands in the real World, it just adds perfectly to the atmosphere/cultural diversity of Talaveroth. Like how Game of Thrones has actors from all over the Planet.
Now, back to our Knights of the Hanging Chicken, and the City of the Three Peaks:
In the two days of Downtime, so far, this is what happens:
Everyone that goes to Ruskor's resuplies and gets all the mundane items they need, at the usual 50% off, as long as they can afford it. The official exchange policy is that Ruskor will buy any item from you at 75% of what its original value. In other words, If it is an item that you originally purchased from him, he will buy it back from you at 25% of its official market value listed in the Player's Handbook.
For magic items, well, I know all of you are way too broke to afford any lol But if you wish to exchange one of the items you got from Gavin, then just pm me and we can work something out.
Saerrira and Cade decide to go check out the Randal Styles Bard College in the Middle Peak's Tavern District (close to where the old Sleeping Goat Tavern was). Ellethy accompanies them, as she can cast several useful spells to enhance a performance (dancing lights, invisibility, polymorph). Does anyone else wish to accompany them?
The Randal Styles Bard College is a rather modest sized circular building, about 60 feet in diameter, rising roughly 30 feet up. Scafoldings still surround it, with Dwarven and Human masons, stoneworkers and Architects , Elvish and Gnomish carpenters and Glassblowers scuttling around, putting the finishing touches to the building.
The main Auditorium contains roughly 400 seats, and is divided into a main seating floor, two public balconies, and about 10 private balconies overlooking the stage, a 30feet by 15 wooden rectangular set of planks, with a small orchestra pit at its base, big enough for about 20 instrumentalists and a conductor. A15 foot high curtain currently open reveals the backstage area, where set designors are working on stage props, and costume designors are going through huge racks of exuberant outfits .
Sitting alone in the front row, shouting furiously at a troup of actors, dancers and musicians on stage rehearsing a battle themed Musical.
"One two three four! One two three four! Stooooop!!" He gets up his seat and storms the stage, heading straight to the lead actor playing Randal Styles during the battle of the Floating Isles.
"What was that? There was NO PASSION here! The audience must FEEL the terror as Randal Styles jumps into that rift in the Space-Time continuum!"
Grunda practices her drumming, which gets her noticed by one of the Carnival Gypsies (from the "Stompers" family) who leads a street marching drum band...they are all Halflings, and having a Goliath play with them would be very exciting. Also, they have an audition coming up with Althulius Gambles at the Randanl Styles Bard College, and they would love to include Grunda in the show.
Roscoe discovers the Three Peaks's number one Tatoo Artist: a Forest Gnome Sorcerer by the name of Pygmalion Zagat, specialized in infusing his art with arcane magic. He was originally a painter, and many of his works hang on the walls of his small workshop in the Lower Peak. His paintings are known to "come alive", and his tattoos may include color/light shifting effects, and animated designs. He takes a liking to Roscoe, and only charges him 30gp for an animated tattoo
Rosri makes contact with the Thieve's Guild, led by the Gnomish Mafia, and acquires a few dubious items from them. He then spends two days locked in his room...
Edeleth sends a message to his Family in the Westwoods, and acquires more seeds (from 15 different plants/fruit/vegetable)
Zyman, through his research, finds out more about the Shadow King (pm me for details)
Peshley resupplies at Ruskor's, finds a comfortable private stable for her magical pony, right by the Arcane University where she studies and copies down her new spells.
Laeivis goes to the Temple of Meryn where he encounters the two newest members of the Campaign(Team3): Vah'Lor Eisenhammer, a Dwarven Cleric, and Elwin Cold, a Human Warlock. Both of them are talking to Father William.
Uther resupplies at Ruskor's, and enjoys himself a bit in the City, playing cards at the Tavern and wandering around a bit. In his wandering, he stumbles upon a local Brawling League who meets in the Tavern district, in a small warehouse. There, he spotts the Half-Orc Alliance Eagle rider he encountered earlier. "It's not the Grand Arena in Dastarus, brother, but it's great entertainment nonetheless!"
Eventually, at the end of the second day, every PC receives a message delivered personally by a Granit Clan official messenger.
You have all been summoned to the Granit Palace up on the High Peak.
OOC: We will roleplay the Granit Palace meeting once everyone is done with their Downtime activities, and ready to get back into "Quest mode".
Upon entering and hearing the man shouting instructions to the performers, not wishing to interrupt, Saerirra takes a seat on the end of the second row.
Laievis stepped into the Temple with the same mixed feelings he had in tavern - as sacrilege as it sounds. The place was getting comfortably familiar and yet remain alien too in the same time, forcing young cleric to think about unpleasant matters like adaptation, loosing home sense, and desires to "belong". He shrugged the feeling off and joined the ever busy crowd of clerics, working their miracles for the glory of Meryn (and health of the citizens).
Father William was occupied with - presumably - important visitors, probably important enough to be remembered by forgetful grand priest. Laievis did not interfere of course: a humble travelling cleric was but a guest, not any kind of superior. And the letter Granite Palace did not change that fact.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Edeleth got up early in the morning and spent the first part of the day at the stables, learning what he could from the stablehands and making the acquaintance of the beasts that were available for sale. By the time he left, he had a good idea which animals he would purchase, if he decided to do so--a strong, healthy pair of mules with an easy-going attitude and the ability to carry on an intelligent conversation (for mules, anyway.)
He stopped at a few gardening, herbalist, and farm supply shops on his way back to the tavern. There wasn't a lot he could do with Druidcraft except for nudging a plant along bit by bit, so there was no point in planting an oak tree, unless he planned to spent the entirety of the next few years concentrating on its growth rate. He decided to buy seeds for plants that could serve as decorative flowers, but also had herbal and medicinal uses. Perhaps if he stayed near the Three Peaks long enough, he might even find somewhere to plant a small herb garden.
Arriving back at the tavern, he was pleasantly surprised when Gavin handed him a letter. It was far to early for his own letters to have reached Lomalos, let alone been answered, but he thought that something might have been sent to a previous location and just caught up with him.
The contents were far more disturbing. He was summoned to the Granit Palace. Edeleth quietly went to his room and climbed up onto the roof to consider the letter
He supposed that, as King Celairatar's emissary, he really ought to have presented himself to the local rulers before wandering around planting trees and shooting gnolls. But surely, the king had said something about writing King Thørnad and Queen Brie to let them know he would be in the Six Clans kingdom, and that ought to be good enough. Besides, if he had gone directly to the Granit clan castle, they might have felt obligated to entertain him with a round of court parties, balls, hunts, and other nonsense that nobody would have enjoyed at all. (Or anyway, Edeleth wouldn't have.)
This was sure to be awkward.
He had not had to fuss about politics for many decades now. Many very happy decades. Now he struggled to remember, if he had ever known, who the Granit clan leaders were, what political factions and conflicts existed in the court, and what subjects (or people) might be best to avoid.
(History roll 12 )
At least his clothes were in proper order this time.

Peshley opens the door to her room. The library was fascinating, but she missed being out on the road with the others. Sometimes all sitting around reading did was let your mind wander back to things you wished you could forget.
Carefully placed on the end of her bed sat a message seals with wax and bearing the crest of the Granit Clan. She sat down on the bed, picked up the message and studied it for a few moments before opening it. Peshley took a dagger from her belt and cast prestidigitation on it, warming the blade and allowing her to slip it under the seal and open it without breaking the wax.
She read slowly, even though the message was brief. She was summons to the Granit Palace. Father had tried for many years to get an audience with the quartermaster at the palace to open up trade negotiations. He was still waiting. Slowly a grin spread across Peshley’s face and the energy bubbled up until she let out a little squeal as she bounced where she sat. She was off to the palace.

OOC: I am from New Zealand. Peshley would feel right at home with the hobbits around 😉
That's awesome! Yes basically you're from Middle Earth lol. Also the land of the Maori. I always thought the Haka is the most intimidating war dance on the planet.
OOC: Hirangi, the name of my familiar, means blue in Maori. The same colour as beneath its wings.
OOC: That is so cool! ^^
I'm from Wisconsin, but please don't imagine Edeleth sounding like a Midwesterner! XD Lomalos could very well be a lot like the Northwoods, though.

Well Wisconsin is actually the Birthplace of D&D, and Gary Gigax, with Lake Geneva being one of the holiest of Holly lands for players around the world (the original GenCon back in 1968). So respect...
