The crying Gnoll fails his Wis Save for the 3rd time (9), and his head explodes! (Saerrira definitely has jokes that KILL lol)
The other one takes a final firebolt from Peshley and collapses on the ground, right as he was about to reach the door...
Uther peaks into the room, and sees quite a terrifying scene:
A large circular room (80 feet diameter) with a high vaulted ceiling, full of torches and an eery red glow, at the center of which a dark Altar has been erected. A large, muscular and highly decorated Gnoll stands by the altar, chanting and butchering the body of an adult male Dwarf (probably those blood curling screams you heard earlier). There are piles of bones and gore around the altar...
Btw he is chanting in Abyssal, if anyone can understand that language.
Around the altar, a pack of 6 Hyenas (looking alot like the ones you fought earlier) are gathered around him, licking their chops and looking starved...
About 20 feet away from the altar, a group of 7 Dwarven villagers (including 4 children) AND a mysterious male Fey are chained to a stone pillar, held at sword point by two Gnoll Cultists, who are watching the door very carefully...
The Villagers are visibly terrified, and bare the scars of several days of Gnoll captivity on their faces.
The Fey, on the other hand, is loudly shouting insults (in Fey) at the Cultists, and furiously trying to get out of his chains, placing himself in front of the children...
The Leader continues chanting, and starts tossing severed body parts to the Hyenas, who immediately start devouring them. As they do, the red light glows even brighter, and pulsating dark energy starts filling the room. The Leader shouts "Yeenoghu!!!"
The feasting Hyenas start to violently mutate. Their very bone structure shifts, sending them through horrible, obviously painful spasms. Their bodies grow, slowly turning into...Gnolls...
EVERYBODY MAY STILL ROLL A GROUP STEALTH CHECK DC13, WITH DISADVANTAGE, TO GAIN A SURPRISE ROUND AGAINST THE ENNEMIES...
(You must be homebrewing, because otherwise I would highly doubt a simple cantrip can make heads literally explode. Also, i finally roll decently well and of course when there's disadvantage.)
OOC I personally picture heads exploding "scanners" style whenever someone dies from psychic damage. But you are welcome to describe it anyway you see fit. Both Gnolls had very little HP left, so that cantrip was enough to finish him off.

(Fair enough. I had just imagined it more along the lines of a terrible migraine, or just simply an indescribable "mental damage" that inflicts pain without actually showing any scars or the like.)

Saerirra whispers, "Well, the gnolls should be quite weakened from our last encounter, or if not, they may recognize us and sees us as the powerful enemy we've shown ourselves to be. We definitely need to get the captives......what's left of them, out of here. I'm thinking if I can get to them and show them this teddy bear maybe whoever owned it knows how to use it and can help us with it against the gnoll and hyenas. Also I can give a few of them a bit of a headstart should they need to run immediately. And then I can give that same boon to all of you afterwards, so we could just rescue and scram if that is the plan."

Saerrira and Cade immediately recognize some of the family members from the painting in Turniptown...and the little girl (the Teddy Bear's owner) is among them...however, both parents are missing...
Cade - Seeing the ritual taking place and beyond the ritual he sees the dwarves he closes his eyes as he recognizes some of the faces, but unfortunately he doesn't see all of the faces that were in the painting. He will cast Comprehend Languages so that he can know what is being said by the leader.
Saerirra would start moving, skirting around the alter against the wall towards the Dwarves and elven captives, and seeing all the hyenas huddled around the big gnoll, she casts Crown of Madness on the gnoll, Wisdom Save, DC 14
OOC: I know I am late on the initiative list but may not be available when it comes around. Hold this until then. If the head gnoll I somehow dead or clearly affected by crown of madness then she will target one of the guards by the prisoners.
Peshley, once she sees the scene, will raise her staff pointing it at the lead gnoll and shout. “No more. Fire Now!”
The magic missile spring forth and steel toward the Gnoll.

Cade casts Comprehend Language to hear the Leader say "Yeenoghu, Watch as your Followers feast upon the remains of these souls I offer you. Make them Strong and fearless. Make them GNOLLS!"
Then as Laeivis's spell hits him, he shouts to the other two in Gnoll" Aargh! A servant of Meryn! Kill him now, you idiots!"
Laeivis casts Hold Person on him, and he rolls...an 8 on his Wis Save. With the Power of Meryn Almighty, Laievis extends his hand and the Gnoll Fang of Yeenoguh is paralyzed! A Divine Ray of Celestial Light pierces through a crack in ceiling, illuminating Laeivis as he focuses intensely on his spell.
Uther needs to take his action before I can move on to the Gnolls/NPCs. Then Peshley gets to shoot at the Leader with magic missiles.
OOC: sorry guys I have a huge day for work tomorrow. I am helping run security for an international rugby game. Will try and post before work and hopefully I get a lunch break (maybe) sometime during the day when I can post. At work 7:45am to 6:00pm NZ time though.
I have provided DM with 3 more rounds of combat rolls and intentions in PM to use after the actions I have already described above. This way, if I am not available when needed, he can have my character act as I would intend for that time.

However, his two minions start running towards Laeivis at his command, so Uther gets an attack of opportunity on one of them.
Regardless of the attack result, they both take a swing at Laeivis with their serrated longsword. One rolls a 10(miss), and the other rolls...a Nat20!(crit)
Laeivis takes 12 slashing damage, and must roll concentration to maintain his spell!
The Gnoll Leader rolls a 4 on his Wis Save at the end of his turn, so he is still paralyzed...unless Laeivis fails his concentration check...then the spell dissipates.
Peshley hurls 3 magic missiles at the Leader, causing him to growl and curse.
OOC Peshley I hadnt even noticed you took a level in fighter...nice! I guess after the Tavern Monster episode, and Peshley being able to lift Grunda the Goliath, she started working out

Uther walks towards the Dwarves to make sure they dont get attacked (if they are close enough he stands between them and the Gnolls)
He the takes out his crossbow and lets an arrow fly at the leader.
