Ooc oh shit.. forgot to roll a survival check earlier... 21

The Kobolts got a magnificent nat1 on their INITIATIVE, so everyone gets to go before them...

Edeleth casts Spike Growth down the 5foot wide Tunnel, and Kobolt shrieks of agony can instantly be heard, as dozens of them are running around in thorns, impaling themselves on them (2d4 damage for every 5feet of movement...ouch...Kobolds have 5HP each...). He remains hidden from them, dropping behind one of the beds

Rosri shoots two more in the head, also hidden behind a bed.

Zyman maintains his Hold Person on the Kobold blocking the entrance.  None of them seem to respond to any kind of social interaction...and Zyman may still take his actions.

Roscoe may take his turn.

Grunda may possibly jump in...

Seeing that he can't get a reaction from the Kobolds, and that many of them are being impaled by Edeleth's spell, Zyman decides to keep focusing on his spell to further block the entrance and maximise the effect of the spikes. Not wanting to expose him to more threats however, he gets into cover as well.

Rosri sits behind the bed where he took cover and looks over at the Kobolds. Seeing that they are traped within and taking heavy casutlies he relaxes a bit and jump over to the table  where Gaston hunkers down. "Does anyone know what they are saying?"

Then he reload his crossbow but hold off on shooting if Zyman would lose his consentration. He will shoot the one Zyman is holding if he break free.

Crossbow attack if needed:

"Not I," says Edeleth. "As a child I was given the choice of studying Sylvan or Gnomish, and since our gnomes all spoke common and often Elvish as well..." he shrugged. "If the Red Lord sets an arch fey on us, I will be happy to conduct the introductions."

"Fancy meeting you here," he adds as Zyman joins them in cover.  It is getting a little crowded behind the bed, but maintaining the spells are their best defense at the moment, and there's no point in risking a swarm of kobolds in the cave just for the bravado of standing up to take a possible arrow in the face. "So, I am thinking our best move is to find a way to collapse or seal the tunnel, then find some other place to spend the night.  Any thoughts? It's possible that a Thunderwave or two could cause a collapse, but I would not necessarily bet my life on it."

He tries not to think about the mass carnage he has initiated with his thorns.  If the kobolds had been an innocent band digging a new home or a mine, there would not have been so many of them. This is war, and any kobolds who survive would be a threat to his friends and allies.  Besides, they are not exactly in a position to take prisoners.

Roscoe moves out from the cover and charges toward the cave but doesn't enter it. He has a battleaxe in each hand and he smacks them together sending the sound of ringing metal down the tunnel.  "Come on then!," he taunts loudly down the tunnel and prepares for the horde.

• Move: to the start of the tunnel
• Action: Dodge (attacks against Roscoe roll with disadvantage this round.)

"On second thought," says Edeleth, "Thunderwave might bring the ceiling down on us, too."

He wonders how many kobolds are left...if any besides Zyman's prisoner.

Between Edeleth's thorns, Rosri and Gaston's arrows, Zyman's "mind controlling" and Roscoe physically intimidating them with his axes, what's left of the Kobolds quickly turn tail and start running away down the Tunnel, screaming in horror....

As he hears the sound of terrified retreat, Edeleth cautiously stands up. The only kobold still in sight--well, the only LIVE kobold--is the one caught in Zyman's spell.

"Well," says Edeleth.  "What shall we do about this one?" He drops his spell, and the deadly thorns dissolve into dust.

Edeleth doesn't like the thought of killing the little monster in cold blood. He is also nervous about leaving Rollo out of their sight for too long.

Zyman tries again, less menacingly: "Kobold, do you understand me? What did you want to do here? What do you know of this place?"

Can Zyman understand Draconic, or cast any sort of Language related spell? The Kobold does not speak or understand Common...

Since he can't help with the interrogation, Edeleth says, "I'll just check on Rollo and the animals."

He quickly exits the bunker, grateful for a breath of fresh air. The wind may be cold, but it doesn't reek of shredded kobolds.  He looks around for Rollo, half expecting that the dwarf might have taken the opportunity to sneak away, possibly taking the beasts with him.

Rosri stands up an hurries after Edeleth. “I’ll join you Edelth, it is safer if the two of us goes”.  He need to get out of there, with the kobold stench and the fighting, a feeling of claustrophobia is starting to set in. And if Rollo gets away, well that would just be bad.

Edeleth waits at the top, glad to have his friend beside him.

He wonders where they should go from here. Spend the night above ground? Return to the bunker and block the tunnel, even though the enemy knows where they are now? Part of him even wants to go investigate the empty tunnel, though it probably leads to a kobold army and certain death.

But securing Rollo must be their first priority.

Nope, no Draconic for Zyman.

Seeing as his attempt at interrogation leads nowhere, Zyman is looking around the room: “Any ideas what we should do with this guy?”

When Rosri exit the secret hideout he is hit by the cold. He has left his coat downstairs, but he needs to know if Rollo is okey. Once he has located Rollo and the cart he turns to Edelth. “We better get Rollo inside before he freezes. And then we need to talk about what we’re going to do now, I hate to admit it but I think we need to go through the tunnels. We’re the scouting team after all and we need to asses the threat.” He sigh and look up at the beautiful but terrifying night sky. “Also, That storm is looks like trouble to me.” 

"Scouting team?  Maybe. Or maybe Shatterstone just wanted us out from underfoot," says Edeleth as he checks quickly to see how the animals are doing. But he helps Rosri hustle the dwarf back down into the bunker. (OOC: Whoops)

Zyman and the others are looking at the Kobold prisoner with expressions of bafflement. He supposes none of them have been able to communicate with it. One more loose end to tie up.

"Well....so now what?" he asks.

(OOC: Not sure about that storm, Edeleth rolled a really, really low Survival roll when he predicted it! XD )

Zyman and anyone else who wants to may attempt to communicate simple questions/messages to the Kobold by rolling an Intelligence check DC 13.

As Edeleth and Rosri exit Gaston's hideout to check on Rollo and the mounts, Edeleth's fears come true: that useless rat bastard is gone! However, he did NOT steal any of the mounts...

Gaston peeks down the Tunnel..."Wow, it seems to be going on for ever...they must have been digging those for weeks...Pebbles was right....bloody Dog can sniff a nest of Ennemies out from miles, I should have listened to him and the other bloaks...and Shorgreg..."

As he realized Rollo is gone, he downs the last of the glass bottle, and throws it against the wall in a fit of rage, shattering it. "That sonofa*****! We need to find him before he gives our position away to that Gingerbread Man!"

He immediately sets out into the wooden grove surrounding the hideout, crossbow loaded, checking out every patch of moss, and every snowy bush....

Everyone may roll a SURVIVAL check DC16 to find Rollo....as the night falls, it is starting to snow, quickly covering tracks...
