Tomoe grits her teeth but knows her resurrection potion should make this a non issue. Fine, but her body, all of it, is mine. If you wish a trophy, then her weapon is yours to keep.

King says, "That is fine. You can take her body back. However, I feel that it is my place to warn you; Romel the God of war in whose name the deal had been accepted, is a god who looks for the spirit of the conditions more than the literal conditions. Should you try to resurrect her, you shall be cursed."

II would think her death, regardless of resurrection, infact does convey the spirit of the agreement. You will have killed her. She will have died. And, by your logic, Kate and I should have killed you a long time ago. There is honor in mercy.

King shakes his head and says, "At that point, it's not my call anymore. I am simply warning you of what happens next." He looks up and says, "To the death, means to the death yes. However, Romel believes in honor in martyrdom. Resurrection though not dishonorable, takes away the title of martyr. Thus, resurrection will lead to his displeasure."

Then, what would I do, aside from permanently killing my friend, to rebalance the scales? 

(OOC I'm not sure how to transition this from Him killing kate and me resurrecting her, because I will. Gods be damned. It's kind of awkward now since we have been chatting. And I would like to have Kate back and not have disfavor from a God who may not even care but is it really worth the risk?)

((Well... there is one thing you can do but it is an out of character decision you must make. It's kind of like choosing an option in a video game which is out of character but still a decision that you make to effect gameplay.

Option 1: I have Ingrid attack King and then it devolves into a full battle. For heresy reasons, the curse doesn't work. However then you'll be put on a time limit to wake Kate up - must use resurrection potion on her within 10 rounds.

Option 2: Look away as King kills her and then drag her body and also her parts out of the place and end this sub-quest line.

I think option 2, prompting a curse breaking sidequests is appropriate.

King says, "I can't help you with that. Though would bet that the people in a church of Romel will be able to help you."

Tomoe sighs and runs her temples, getting a headache. Very well, let us get this over with. She turns her head just long enough for king to do what he must.

King grips his sword in his hand and uses it to decapitate Kate, killing her without any chance of survival. He says, "You can take her away now and leave." ((Potions will still work to resurrect))

With Ingrids help, as Kate is likely to heavy, Tomoe collects all of Kate's body and proceeds to leave, making sure to use the resurrection potion and reassemble her friend as soon as possible and out of Kings view,  if possible.

They will leave the rats nest, probably forever. 

As Tomoe goes to revive Kate, Lucia says, "Wait! If you do it, then you'll be cursed. Let me be the one to pour the potion. That way you won't be cursed."

Tomoe looks her beloved in the eyes. She as quickly grabs her hand and places it on the potion bottle with her own and says. Then let us be cursed togather. And before Lucia can react, uses the potion on Kate while Lucia and Tomoes hands are on the vial, sharing any curse there may be.

The gods work in mysterious ways. As touching as that action was, it seems Romel did not find it very amusing. Only Tomoe was cursed.

As you head away from the Rat base, Kate stretches her shoulders and says, "Sorry. I choked hard on that battle."

The Curse: This curse will get worse the longer it is left untreated. At this stage, Any time Tomoe scores a crit, there is no rolling on the crit table.

(Well, as far as Tomoe knows, she and Lucia are cursed, cuz f Romel. And yea, it was a bit romantic in a dark way wasnt it)

Do not worry about it. You are still with us, and  I believe this may have been the beat we could have asked for.

Tomoe looks to Lucia. We will deal with what comes next knowing that we do not have an entire gang hunting us. 

Tomoe and Ingrid will help Kate on the way back until Kate is able to walk on her own power. 

Kate is covered in cuts and bruises but the potion restored enough of Kate's strength to let her walk and even fight if it came to it.

You meet back up with Priya and Jamaica for debriefing. It is very late at night and you're in the forest. What do you do now?

Probably not a good idea to camp so close to the rats nest. How long can we travel before we have to camp to avoid exhaustion? 

It's late at night but you if you camp late and wake up later, you can manage to avoid exhaustion. Sleeping in late in the forest is generally risky though because cultist attacks.

What's the risk if we push through the night back to town?

Town is 1.5 days away. The risk is that you will get 1 level of exhaustion.
