Stepping out of the parlor, Kate comments, "She is nice... much nicer than..." She looks around to make extra sure that Yuno isn't lurking around nearby before finishing the sentence, "The Champ."
Lucia then says, "So, Chief. Where to? Should we try out the Blue Lotus? The Golden Dune? Wherever Kate used to hang out? Or do we go somewhere new?"
Kate thinks for a bit and says, "Let's... go to the Golden Dune." It seems Kate was debating on whether or not she wanted to risk meeting someone they already knew like her old mates at the Dancing Weaver or Priya in the Blue Lotus. However she still wanted some familiarity and not walk around looking for a place. So the Golden Dune was what she chose as it was both familiar and she also didn't know anyone too well in there.
As soon as the party steps through the doors, they are hit with the very good performance of the band that's currently playing. This isn't some famous band or bard but their performance is still exceptional. They have opted to play tunes without lyrics to let people take in the atmosphere more. The long music score has long segments of high tempo and energetic sequence which is offset by a strangely high number of minor keys. This makes it the perfect track for people who want to dance or for people who want to quietly enjoy their beer.
As usual though, the place is not crowded. Though there is a larger number of patrons than there was the last night Tomoe was here. Gemini can be seen tearing up the dance floor with the armored human merc. The older female mercenary was exchanging stories of past jobs with Norbert. Frogger, the quiet half-orc merc was still in his corner. There was however one person that didn't fit with all the rest. Sitting at one end of the bar was the blue form of Seraph. The Cobalt Ironskin guard captain was sat alone, with a bottle of spirits in one hand that was a quarter empty. On his other hand was a shot glass. Tomoe would immedietly notice Lucia get worried at the sight of her friend like this.
If you are worries, go talk to him. I will stay with Kate and try to coach her into attracting some attention. We made a bet and I'll would prefer not to lose, but Seriph is important too.

The three approach the buzzed Guard Captain. Seraph hears them coming and sluggishly looks up at them, shot glass still in hand. Lucia begins the conversation, hesitating a bit as she's not quite sure what to say. "H-hey! Captain! You're drinking again?" Seraph responds, "Yeah. What of it?"
Seraph grunts before pouring himself another shot and quickly downing it. "Don't kid yourself. No one is ever concerned about me... and from what I've seen people who do care don't care for very long."
Seraph gets angry and stands up to be at eye-level with Tomoe, "Oh? So you think it's MY fault no one cares about me. I try my best but it's never good enough is it? No matter how much I train, how much I work, how much I exceed everyone else, as soon as someone stronger than me shows up, suddenly all my hard work means jack shit. No, it's still MY fault. I just didn't train enough." He slinks back into his seat and sulks, "I really don't know why I keep trying. I should just disappear since clearly no one cares about me."
Lucia isn't sure how to approach this. She says, "Seraph, what's gotten into you? Why are you saying these things?" He snaps back with, "Why? So you can tell me in how many ways I've ****ed up and I'm to blame for this? I'm tired of being told everything is my fault when I pour my heart and soul into everything I do. That doesn't matter does it? You just want to throw every small mistake I've made at me and use it to say it's why I'm a failure. When I do succeed, it's not worth talking about. When I make mistakes, I'm a failure."
Lucia quickly falls back to behind Tomoe. She whispers, "Chief I... am not sure what to do here. I can't help him if I don't know what's wrong and... I want to help him. What should I do?"
He feels vastly under appreciated and it seems like his accomplishments are being outshined by another's. In his drunken state I am not sure what to say either. Maybe you could convince him to talk more specifically? Maybe it is someone he works with ?
