Wall Nut Performance checks vs DC11: 10, 11 NAT1 (oh my!)

With a last hit to her opponent's head, Kate dazes her opponent and all but secures her victory. The Arena owner's voice calls out, "Finish Him!" Kate, not wanting to make the crowd any more pissed off at her than they already are, obliges. However, she is not one for theatrics and would rather be efficient with her kills. She simply swings again and chops Wall Nut's head off. Simple, effective and swift.

Kate's fire is put out and she is taken back into the arena hall. With the adrenaline having died down, she has gotten really conscious of her lack of clothes and the humiliation, embarrassment and sadness begins setting in. She is congratulated for a well fought battle and is rewarded with 5,500 GP. However she still feels like a loser.

When she joins back up at Tomoe, she looks down at the floor and says, "Just... Can you hand me my old outfit again?"

Tomoe smile as she pulls Kate's back up outfit from bag of holding. She struggles to not make a comment regarding her still thriving intrest in Kate, she made a promise after all. You should not be ashamed, but i do understand the desire for modesty. You fought well, despite the crowd testing my desire to not slaughter everyone who harms my friends. Tell me, what can I do to brighten your mood.

Tomoe would turn around out of politeness to allow Kate to redress in her old clothes. She will send Mystery out later to buy a few replacement garments in Kates new and old style, just to make sure Kate always has something to wear. 

Kate doesn't comment much. The battle has soured her mood and she just wants to get out of there. She asks, "Do I have to fight again? Do we have enough money for what we need?"

I do not think either of us needs to step foot in that arena for a while. Thanks to you, we should have more than enough to accomplish our next tasks. Maybe even some left over for a good meal.

Tomoe would escort Kate to meet back up with their friends. When Lucia is back with them she will ask to the group. Ok, i believe we have enough to send mystery with an escort and hire the sniper to leave us alone. If I recall correctly that would run us about 15000 gold. If I counted our coffers correctly, we may have enough to start building a base of operations outside the main city. 

Lucia nods, "Sounds about right." She then moves closer to Tomoe and asks, "So what now? Do we take it easy for the rest of the day? It is like 8 PM so a bit too late to go into the forest but a bit too early to go to bed." 

Tomoe leans in to Lucia I think we should do something to cheer up Kate. She won but was naked for most of the fight. She us a bit down about that. So, maybe we get your guard captain to join us if he is free. 

Lucia says, "Sounds like a plan. Let's go get Seraph and then head to the Golden Dune again. We can have some drinks and hire a merc from the same place."

Lead the way. Kate, we are headed for our favorite place for drinks. We are going to get a friend to join us. Do you want to come with us or meet us there?

Kate says, "I'll... I'll come with. No point in splitting up."

Lucia leads the group to Seraph's office. Inside Tomoe sees various people in guard armors of various kinds. They are getting files, looking through evidence and even maintaining their equipment. Seraph's office is further inside. Being the captain he has a separate room. Lucia knocks on the door and is greeted with Seraph's annoyed voice, "Don't waste time! Come in!"

Walking in, Seraph looks up from his papers for only a moment to see Tomoe, Lucia, Kate, Mystery and Ingrid. His eyes pause at Kate for a bit and then go back down to working on his paper. He's wearing what looks to be a Dark Purple gi made of a special spider silk that Tomoe had only seen on the nobility of her country. This outfit is very expensive but it provides as much protection as Leather armor while sacrificing none of the mobility.

He says, "Lucia, I didn't know it was you. Kate, what happened? You look worse for ware." Kate responds, "I got into a fight... a merc gig. You know how things are." She doesn't want to tell Seraph what happened to her in the arena or that she was in the arena at all. The dragonborn seems to pick up on this but doesn't press. Perhaps he doesn't want to force Kate to tell him something that she doesn't want to. He then addresses Tomoe, " So what brings you here? You want to help me out with some Guard work?"

Does it pay well?

"Depends on what kind of job you want to help me with." He then sighs and says, "Judging by that question though, I'm going to take a wild guess and say you're interested in the Wanted Criminal variety. I have a few people that could use either locking up, or burying 6ft under."

That sounds like our kind of work. However, todays visit is not work related, though I am interested. We are going to spend the evening at The Golden Dunes and wanted to invite you to join us when your shift ends tonight. 

Seraph doesn't answer immedietly. He looks up from his papers and looks at Kate again. Then the gets back to work and says, "Sure. I'll come. Give me another hour or two and I'll meet you there."

Excellent. I look forward too it. And we will come by later about guard work you need doing. Tomoe leaves Seraphs office and follows Lucia out. When out of the guard office she asks Lucia. Seraph does not have many friends does he?

Lucia shakes her head and says, "He does not. I tried to get him to be more social but... actually I stopped because I had to go to the City of Haze for Inquisitor work."

We might have to do it ourselves then. He does seem to fancy Kate.  Tomoe continues the conversation on the way to the tavern.

Lucia says, "Didn't they already hit it off last night? Or was I too hungover and I misheard what happened?"

Back at the Golden Dune, it seems to be a much more quieter nigh. Low amount regular patrons, though the mercs are still there at there usual places. The half-elf merc with the white fur coat that was there the morning is no longer here. He clearly wasn't a regular so maybe he met up with his guy and left. Gemini is having a drink with the human ladies' man merc though she doesn't seem drunk yet. The half-orc is at his usual place. The older human woman and the dwarf are discussing some gossip.

A different, more amateurish band is playing. Their playing is low energy and kinda forgettable. They're nowhere near as good as Mercy or the other band that played the previous day,

Tomoe confirms with Lucia that the two did hut it off and Kate never came home last night. It would be good for us all if we can get the Captian in high spirits.

Tomoe looks around at the available mercs. Business first? Or shall we relax a bit ?

Lucia says, "Let's finish up business first. Then we can have some uninterrupted R&R."
