Tempest waits to hear from the others before acting, unsure whether to unfreeze the lever or leave it in place. "What's the plan?" he whispers to the group.
Ellis heard the voices bickers and fade away, not able to hear them and guessed that they had left. He listened to Daner's idea of opening the door and following them to Fenthaza. He thought about it as Tempest asked what is the plan. "That would be the best idea, following them to Fenthaza rather than risking the teleporter." Ellis had said back with a nod.
Darion looks up, his face looks rather drained and he wipes his hand over his eyes, though he looks pleased the deception works.
"I'd rather not follow them to Fenthasa - I was thinking maybe try and find another way out while they are hopefully either arguing or, at best, fighting amongst themselves! The trouble is, the teleporter either takes us back to Fenthasa - which is tantamount to suicide I think, or it takes us into a harem that will be swarming with the creatures I presume, or to this 'Fane' place that we know nothing about - and may itself be well guarded. I think trying to get out this way may be our best bet."
Darion slumps back against the wall, waiting to hear what the others decide.
((Apologies. I am working on a pretty intense assignment for work, (only getting about 5hrs sleep/night cause of it) and haven't been able to jump on. I am going to have 2 more days of this before I can get back into things.))
((No problem, Thanksgiving isn't it? Hope you all have a good time! My little boy obviously saw something about it on You Tube and was most indignant we didn't celebrate it over here!!!))
((Lol! Yeah, that’s the one. It’s morphed into this bizarre duality of man thing where on Thursday we eat a feast of thankfulness, but then that evening or tomorrow on Black Friday it is a shopping holiday of avarice incarnate. Very American.))
Daner moves over to the door beside the leaver hefting the greatsword, getting the feel of his new weapon. "We go this way. At least then we are in control of what happens to us. It was pure luck that brought straight here first try."
Ellis had heard Darion, thinking that finding another way out would be a good idea. Then Daner mentioned that they should go that way then since they would have control over what happens as opposed to the teleporter with how they got lucky bringing them here on the first try. "Yes, let's go out through the door then and try to get out of here." Ellis said back with a nod, moving closer to the door beside the lever as well.
Darion wearily pulls himself of the wall, waits a few moments for Tempest's ice to melt away than tries to gently and slowly pull the lever to create as little noise as possible.
Darion feels the mechanism operate and slide into place smoothly as he manipulates the lever... however, about halfway through the door makes a hideous grinding noise, and you can’t seem to make it stop. It continues to raise up making the noise. It would be quite obvious to anyone nearby that it is opening.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
With the door now open, Daner quickly steps through and assesses what he sees on the other side. Does any of it look familiar from their previous tour of the facility?

Darion looks embarrassed. "Sorry about that" he whispers. He moves forward to stand by Daner, trying to be as stealthy as he can and also looking around the room beyond, trying to see from it's layout if there are more hidden doors / traps and if there is any obvious directions that lead out!
As the door is grinding upwards, and before anyone goes out, Kanush the tribal warrior, beaten and limping, turns to Ellis. "You, fair one, please... take this." He removes simple-looking mantle made of strung-together feathers and beads from his neck and places it upon Ellis' shoulder. "I fear that I may not make it back home to my tribe and my family. Take this and keep it; you are worthy of most honor and have earned this. Go back and tell them what was done here."
The door grinds open high enough for Daner to slip through. Four pillars support the vaulted ceiling, and steps ascend to an iron throne carved in the likeness of a hydra. Painted on the wall behind it is a large blue triangle. You emerge from a door hidden in the middle of the triangle, directly behind the throne. A ten-foot-wide opening in the east wall leads to what appears to be a flooded cave. A couple canoes sit near the entrance to this cave. To the west is a broad, grand hallway that leads away from this throne room about 45 feet to closed double doors. You hear some movement from this direction, as if someone is headed towards the door, and you hear a general clamor as the entire temple has been raised to alarm.
Nobody recognizes this portion of the complex. Darion reveals no more hidden doors, aside from the one already discovered in Slithotep's chambers.
Ellis watched Darion pull the lever, covering his eyes as it made that hideous grinding noise and wouldn't stop as it kept raising up. Oh boy, this is going to get them caught. He was surprised as Kanush came up and told him to take the mantle of feathers and beads, placed on his shoulder. He listened as Kanush feared that he may not make it home to his tribe and family, wanting him to keep it and worthy of most honor, earned this and to go back to tell them what was done here. "R-Really? Thank you very much. I certainly don't deserve this though. We'll get you all out of here." Ellis said back to Kanush, nodding and smiling. He then follows the others out, not recognizing this area and guessed that this must be a throne room from the iron throne in front of them. He saw the flooded cave and the canoes, surprised. That's their way out! Then Ellis heard the movement coming toward the double doors and clamor, realizing that someone is coming. "They're coming. Let's take the canoes and get out of here!" he would whisper to everyone, quickly ushering everyone else to grab the canoes and start getting into them as fast as possible.

((All good! I’ve had my fair share of busy as well. Good luck on your assignment!))
((Also, it is holiday time here in the States, so I don’t expect to be active for the next few either))

(We’ll say someone can make a Strength or Sleight of Hand roll to see how quietly you can operate the door mechanism, should you so choose!)
