The Lurker carrying Tempest gives a muffled snarl as the bite hits home, though the creature's sturdy constitution fights off the poison effect. Angry, it slows down (i.e. takes it's move, then attacks rather than double moving) and tries to stop the wriggling food by biting down, with advantage.
Tempest feels the jaws begin to clamp down, wriggling desperately to try and minimise the damage. This creature does seem especially capable of finding the weak spots on trapped prey though....
As Darion picks up Tahvo and starts carrying him back he hears Kanush gasp and point: One of the Rippers is standing up, shaking it's head and snarls angrily at the party
"Oh, of course!" mutters Darion, and promptly casts sleep at second level at it "Just stay down!" Sleep: 41
Daner strides forward, taking a defensive stance, preparing to attack anything that charges at the party. He notices that the other three Rippers are beginning to stir
The Ripper starts moving towards the party, it's vicious claws twitching. Daner braces himself, then can swear that he sees it's eyes suddenly cross as it pitches forward, asleep again.
Darion grins, then calls out "That's the last of my stronger spells!"
“The bear spider man, what happened to him? Did that thing get him? We’ve got to help!” At this, he sees one of the ripper charge and fall limp nearby. “Oh what a mess.”
Erro will scan the jungle in the direction of the lurker that he skirmished with. Hunter’s Mark will grant advantage on his perception checks against it: 17.
For his turn, Erro will ready a melee attack against the first enemy that comes near, and he’ll take position beside Tahvo. If Erro is urged a different direction he’ll use his movement to trail Tempest, but he doesn’t feel confident to be the one calling the shots.
Ellis was sure that the dagger hit but knew that it wasn't enough. So he kept running after the creature taking Tempest and then threw his second dagger, aiming to hit the creature again.
Action: Throw a Dagger at the Creature holding Tempest
(OCC: Completely forgot about this, but with Faerie Fire, would Ellis's last attack and this one have advantage? If not, take first result)
Greenish black goo sprays into the Lurker's mouth as it chomps down on Spider Tempest. Still conscious and fighting Spider Tempest will bite down again aiming for the creatures tongue or mouth.
Attack: 15 Damage: 8 DC11 CON or take: 7 poison
(Bonus & Movement up to DM)
Since my spider shape is large and my humanoid shape is medium, could I drop my wildshape and transform into my humanoid form using the part of the spider body that was outside the jaws? If so,
After attacking Tempest will drop his wildshape form and run away from the creature as fast as he could in the direction of his friends.
Ellis - given the speed of the Lurker, your dagger attack would be disadvantage - but with the faerie fire that cancels out, so the dagger hits home, you see it stick in the creature's hind quarters just as it vanishes out of sight into the dense jungle. You can clearly see a blood trail though...
Tempest - clever idea, inspirational some might say (give yourself inspiration!). Concentrating for a moment, waiting for the jaws to stop crushing down for a moment you are able to choose the right moment and you snap back to your humanoid form just out of the grip of the jaws. You crash to the ground, and pick yourself up as the Lurker looks bewildered, shaking it's head confused.
The Lurker thrashes around, as you start to run through the jungle you are surprised when the creature doesn't try and grab you. Risking a glance behind you see that it is in a bad way. It's leg is hurt, two daggers sticking out, and you can make out the venom from the spider form infiltrating it's bloodstream.
Lurker's go
The Lurker gives a bellow, almost plaintive, it's whole body gives a shake, then with something that sounds like a wimper it sets off away from you into the jungle, cutting it's losses and to tend it's wounds. Tempest watches as the creature disappears quickly into the dense jungle, then looks around and sees a blood trail heading back the way they had come.
As Daner, Erro, Darion and the rest look on, two of the Rippers get back to their feet. Confused and unsure, they turn and see Daner and Erro nearby. Both start to move forward to attack, but don't have the movement to reach anyone this turn, so start circling unsurely, bewildered by where the rest of the pack has gone. It looks as if they are trying to work out whether to attack of flee...
Tempest will rush as fast as he can back towards the group following the blood trail using his movement and action to dash for a total of 60 feet. "Everyone okay?" Tempest says to the group as he comes back within sight of them then tenses as he sees the rippers standing to their feet.
(Hopefully he's within 60 feet of the group now. TY for the inspiration.)
Ellis saw as the dagger hit just before the creature vanished into the jungle, still worried about Tempest. But then he saw Tempest back to normal and run past, following him back to the others. "I'm so glad that you're okay, Tempest." he said back to him, nodding as he asked if they are okay. Ellis was surprised to see the Rippers standing up though, thinking. He'll then cast Sleep on the two Rippers, hoping to put them both to sleep again so they all can get away completely this time.

Erro will attempt to gesture menacingly at the remaining rippers, making himself appear as large as possible, and he will bang his sword against the front of his shield hoping to ward them off, or at least slow them down.
Intimidation: 3.
If able, he will still keep a melee attack readied as he stands on the front line.

Tempest is easily able to follow the blood trail, negating the need for any survival check! Fortunately he was not to far from the party and in a few moments is able to see Ellis and rejoin him, catching sight of the Rippers standing up.
As the Rippers start circling, Ellis fires off his sleep spell, and the nearest Ripper to him suddenly gets a confused expression on it's face, and slowly crumples again to the floor.
I think, considering everything that had happened to them Erro would have had advantage on intimidation, so I'll roll again for him: 1
Erro strides forward menacingly, though the effect is nearly spoiled when his foot twists and a root and he stumbles a little. Fortunately, it is at that moment the Ripper is distracted by it's pack-mate crumpling forward again. By the time it turns to Erro, he has recovered his composure and looks really menacing.
Rippers go
The Ripper already awake stares for a moment at Erro, then it's nerve breaks and with a snarl turns and runs into the jungle, making a strange barking cry. The final Ripper wakes up to see this, looks around in panic.... then scrambles to it's feet and, replying in with same strange noise, it flees away from the party following it's pack mate. As the Rippers disappear into the jungle, the normal noise of the jungle seems to creep back into the clearing, empty apart from two sleeping Rippers.
Lomar relaxes, and glares at everyone else, as if daring them to mention his attempt to run away.
Darion gives Erro a nod of thanks, then calls out to Tempest "Are you alright? For a moment I was certain you were due to meet your gods". He checks on Tahvo, whispering another quick prayer to Mystra and Tymora.
Kanush looks around "We have been lucky, but blood has been spilled and I suggest we leave quickly, before something truly big and dangerous finds us" As if on queue, somewhere out in the forest still quite a bit away from you, you all hear a deep roar that sounds like it was made by something really big.
Out of Initiative
Kanush will gesture to you all to hurry, eyeing up the sleeping Rippers nervously. Unless there is anything you want to do here, he will lead you into the jungle.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Erro feels quite proud of himself as he sees the ripper turn tail and run. He hears Kanush’s warning and mutters to himself, “Really big? Those weren’t big enough? How big does a lizard need to be?” Sign me up on the first ship out of here.”
”Let’s leave a present for our really big friend.” Erro will go over to one of the sleeping rippers and begin to attempt to quickly and carefully hogtie it. He swallows hard and sweat wets his brow even more as he eyes the vicious claws of the ripper.
Tempest will nod and say, "I was worried myself but Eldath apparently has more for me to do in this place. We should make haste and leave this part of the jungle."
Erro nerves start to get the best of him, as his hands keeps slipping on the rope. If he wants to tie it up he can, but it will take quite a bit longer if he wants to persevere....

Ellis' dagger does hit, striking surprisingly deep in the creature's leg. You do indeed wonder if this will leave a trail of blood.
Tempest's attack hit's home, the magical energy around the Lurker reveals a weak spot as the creature adjusts it's jaw. Lurker Con save: 21
