The last gem clicks into place, filling its hole perfectly flush within its carving, and the noise of gas filling into the room stops. The light haze that has formed slowly dissipates, and a creak announces the crypt door's reopening.
Brother Keefe's sigh of relief is cut off by a loud scraping that shakes the floor. The sarcophagus itself slides away, revealing a stairway down into complete darkness.
"Well," Brother Keefe says, "I'd like to see my colleagues laugh now."
Going over to the sarcophagus, he looks at the bone left there. He grabs one that is small but distinctly dragon like and tosses it Brother Keefe. "Show them that, after we are done and have a laugh at their expense." he calls out. He then asks, "Anyone got a torch. I say we toss one down there first then make our way...and check for traps maybe."

"Mm. Love being in a locked room with no escape as a most likely poisonous gas fills the room from an unknown source. Great. Fantastic. Lovely."Letting out a sigh of relief, Zelra takes a few steps down the stairs and peers into the darkness. "I'll go check it out first and see if there's anything down there. I'll light up a torch if all is good or I'm about to die and need help or something."She gives Uragum a cheeky grin before going down the stairs quietly and checking for traps along the way.
"Let's hope if there is some other gas in there, it will not explode from the fire", Ola looked at the new entrance in the floor with a great suspicion. "And it might be worth it at least to try fix that sarcophagus in place now with... I do not know - the lead from it? would not want to be locked under it."
"What are you doing?!" Sykyra as usual did not care to even announce his action yet again - explain. "Hope to lock us in with a dragon (if there is one alive in there) or expect workers of the cemetery to turn into zombies and attack?"
Brother Keefe assists Arnald with the moving of the sarcophagus lid. As Sylyra closes the doors to the crypt (there does not appear to be a lock on the inside), Keefe suggests, "I will stay here, if that is alright. Whatever is down there is likely more than I can handle."
With the appearance of torchlight, all can see that the stairs descend steeply, and then the passage continues, curving to the left and slightly downward in a spiral. Zelra moves first, scouting stealthily ahead.
For Zelra:
After curving around, the passage opens into a chamber. Three odd humanoid skeletons, topped with draconic skulls, stand at attention, holding swords. At the back of the chamber is a large throne-like chair, currently empty, on a mahogany dais.
The spiral passage continues through the chamber, continuing to curve and slope downward.
Sylyra glares at Ola. "What happens if someone comes along, finds the stones, and removes them? Are we then locked for eternity below this crypt? I'd rather not find out." The elf then descends the stairs, his head head high.
Indeed, Ola did not think about possibility of a robbery in the middle of the day out of the crypt on the cemetery full of workers and in presence of a cleric, no less. Though, to be fair, Ola did not think about robberies that often at all, if ever. She sighed, watching Sylyra's descending without waiting for Zelra's report, obviously. Well, it's not like the place can be trapped or something.
As Zelra sees the draconic skeletons, she throws a ball bearing at one of them to see if it reacts. If it doesn't, she'll try to slip pass then and continue further down. If it does, she'll quickly run back up and warn tbe others.
Uragum follows down below as well and stops short of Zelra by about 20 feet. "Zelra! Is it clear to come over there." He shouts out. From his angle he's none the wiser to what she is doing besides focusing on something.
At Uragum's shout, Zelra flinches and facepalms. "So much for stealth..."Sighing, she turns around and whisper-shouts a reply. "Not sure. Figuring out now. Stay back."
"Yes, I suppose it would," Keefe answers Ruik. He unfurls the scroll and hands it to the dwarf, but its lines seem to jump around wildly on the page, unintelligible to his druidic knowledge.
For Zelra:
The skeletons remain standing still as the ball bearing clatters across the floor.
The spiral passage continues until it reaches another chamber that has been set up as a small laboratory. Tables around the room are covered in beakers, vials, tomes, cauldrons, and pots full of alchemical agents.
In the middle of the central table is a note next to a blue clay pot.
Beyond this chamber, the spiral passage continues further downward.
Zelra heads back up to where the others are. "Okay so this place goes down pretty deep. First floor down is some sort of throne room with three humanoid-ish draconic-ish skeletons. Pretty sure they aren't undead but don't go near them just in case. Second floor down is a laboratory with a shit ton of equipment. For now, stay on the first floor until I say its safe to come down the second floor and then I'll go down to the third floor to check it out and rinse and repeat and blah blah blah. Good plan?"
Ola nodded - indeed, she learned the hard way not to believe even the safest looking places to be truly safe without checking. Though, Zelra mentioned undead... "Let me just look at them, would you? The skeletons, I mean". She made a few steps down (conssidering presence of Sylyra and Uragum it was getting crowded down there) and concentrated on the surrounding.

"I like Ola's idea. Let's see if we can use the lid to wedge the sarcophagus in place."
Arnald goes to attempt to do just that.
