Zelra is in the middle of chewing the last of her meal as the stranger appears. She scrunches up her face as she swallows it all and takes a quick swig of water. Holding back a burp, she nods. "Yep. Adventurers for hire. How can we help?"
All questions were already asked, there was no need in even eyebrow raising. Ola just looked as the stranger, waiting for answers and trying to detect his occupation or anything about him.
Uragum, signals to waitress for a refill of his mug and waits patiently with the others. He looks at the man trying to size him up and gage the urgency in his voice and posture.
The man bows his head in returned greeting. "My name is Brother Keefe. I am a priest of Kelemvor and the Keeper of the Dead of Valhingen Graveyard. As such, I am charged with seeing to the interment of bodies and keeping records. I am the overseer of all permanent residents of the Valhingen Graveyard," he explains.
"I am also in charge of disinterment at the graveyard, and that is why I seek your assistance this afternoon."
"Evidence has been brought forth to the clerics of Kelemvor that one of the long-standing residents of the cemetery, Xandria Welltran, was not in fact human, but a polymorphed green dragon. It falls upon me now to enter the crypt and inspect the body to confirm or disprove these claims. I fear that there may be more to this than meets the eye, but my concern was met by laughter from my fellow priests. Therefore, I am looking for adventurers to accompany me into the crypt."
If there ever was time for hesitation - it was now. A Red Dragon egg in the docks (fake but still), a Black Dragon in the goblin's nest (dead, but still), now a Green Dragon in the cemetery (probably dead - but still!!!) By the Mother of the Ocean, what is wrong with this place?!
Ola was not proud of her thoughts, but she really wished she was somewhere else right now. Alas, she was not. She sighed to the sad admission of faith's cruelty and bowed to the cleric: "I can not speak for all of us, but I do promise my help in your endeavour."
Uragum was only mildly entertaining the the discussion when he began about graveyards. Then he mentioned dragons and his interest perked. Further yet he mentioned a scroll and that sealed it for him. "Dragon you say, and a scroll? My interest in piqueedt . Count me in as well."
Zelra's eyes widens at the sound of "100 gold pieces"and she smiles. "That sounds easy enough. Though, knowing luck, the dragon's probably going to be undead or the crypt filled with a shit ton of abominations."
"I am no adventurer," Brother Keefe answers, "And as I mentioned, I fear there may be more than meets the eye to this rumor. Since my brethren do not believe me, I would rather not venture into this situation alone."
Once satisfied with the explanation and terms of employment, Brother Keefe leads you across Phlan to the Valhingen Graveyard. When you arrive, you see that the graveyard is quite large, and is actually quite well maintained.
"Doomguide Yovir Glandon, my superior, personally sees to the maintenance of the grounds," Keefe explains. "He is the most senior member of the Most Solemn Order of the Silent Shroud. The Welltran Crypt is near the edge, follow me please."
Graveyard looked very peaceful, still, Ola kept her guard as if they were in the goblins nest, keeping close to Brother Keefe in hope to protect employer in case of sudden danger.
Following along, Uragum's mind was keen on an ambush. He had tales of other tribes calling forth ancestral spirits to help them in battle. His tribe never really buried people as the ground was to hard and cold to dig in. He could hardly imagine how powerful an ancestral spirit in a body might be. As he walked he found himself instinctually touching his spell book.
A few groundskeepers nod toward you as you follow Brother Keefe across the graveyard.
The crypt of Xandria is a nicely appointed stone and marble building, roughly 20 feet square. Brother Keefe produces a key to unlock it.
The interior is equally fine. The walls are carved and painted with various scenes showing a lovely human woman in different locales: looking toward a snow-covered peak, standing in the rain of a thunderstorm, sitting in a comfortable room by a roaring fire, holding a venemous snake in a garden, working with bubbling vials in a laboratory, and many others. The lid of the marble sarcophagus in the center is carved with the likeness of the same beautiful human woman in the prime of her life.
Zelra admires the fine architecture of the crypt before turning to Brother Keefe with a look of curiosity. "So, Brother, what can you tell us about this apparent green dragon and what made you think there's more than what meets the eye? Looks like she was pretty important judging from the walls."

Arnald sits up and eyes the stranger. "And just how small a matter are you referring to?"

"I can offer you one hundred gold pieces to accompany me, and if there's trouble, I'll throw in a scroll of protection from evil and good," he explains.
