OOC: Added half of Arnald's arrows back to his inventory.
Sylyra Investigation:5
The etching of the teleportation circle is far from permanent, and could be easily defaced. Uragum looks over the staff, but does not understand the sigils imbued upon it, nor its purpose. Sylyra works his way around the murals, but while they are quite intricate, he does not find anything special about them.
(OOC: Zelra also spent some time to retrieve her arrows before going to the pile of gold btw.)
"If they're protected, why don't we just shoot it from afar? If something goes off, we'll be far from it. I shot the glyphs and they all deactivated so maybe it's the same with the circle."
"Can I try something first?" There was an uncommon curiosity in Ola's voice. "Might be safer, if it works. Just stay away a bit." If was allowed, she splashed some water on the circle runes, then (from the maximal distance of 30 feet) pointed at the spilled water and made it freeze, burying 5 feet of the runes under the layer of ice.
OOC: Don't worry, Zelra's sheet was updated, just didn't call it out at the time.
Ola splashes water from her waterskin atop the teleportation circle, freezing it solid after a few seconds. Beneath the ice, you can see that the etching has been shifted by the flowing water, disturbing the flow of the teleportation circle.
"I don't understand the runes, but probably could if I cast the spell I might be able too." he says to the others. He then grips the rod and gives it a yank trying to pull it free. If it does come free he walks over to an area away from the circle and will cast Identify on it.
"That's embarrassin," he said out loud. "Hey, someone come help me wit this thing. I think we pull it out and it may help disrupt the circle." he calls out to anyone listening.
Just in case it was her fault and ice was to blame, Ola melted it (not forgetting to smear the runs on the flaw with now liquid and dirty water. "May be try again? Or I can try if you wish"(after all, she was a swordwoman).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Okay, one more try..." he said after the water was melted. He then rubbed his hands together, set his feet in proper form, grabbed the rod and pulled.
This time the rod comes free quite easily. As the water pools across the floor, you can see that the etched teleportation circle has been marred by it, its lines now wavy and disrupted.
Ten minutes pass as Uragum focuses again on identifying, but though the rod bears arcane sigils upon it, it is not itself magical.
Taking the rod he states, "Well the rod doesnt seem to have magic so I'm not sure its purpose, maybe it's a key or something so I think ill take it. We can now complete its destruction "
If it is the last room in the crypt, Ola suggests a retreat.
"I guess it is time to go? Brother Keefe must be worrying. Say what you want, the Lady in question still might not be a dragon herself, but belong to some cult worshipping dragons and trying desperately to imitate them. Though, this is for Brother Keefe to decide."
"Yes, gods please. I want to leave this traumatizing place." Zelra looks back at the fake pile of gold coins with absolute disgust before making her way towards the stairs.
OOC: This does appear to be the bottom floor. The spiraling passage ends in this room.
Added rod to Uragum's inventory.
The party makes their way up the curving passageway, returning past the laboratory and throne room to the staircase that ascends to Xandria's sarcophagus. Brother Keefe waits there still, his eyes calm as he sees your return.
"You were gone for some time. I suspect you found more than simple burial grounds beneath," he comments.
"There is something like an underground lair of a Necromancer down there," began Ola, "you saw the dragons bones in the sarcophagus here. There were and may be still are some traps releasing undead creatures once activated. And There is something like a Temple to the dragons. We fought some of the undead, and destroyed a teleportation circle that led somewhere - we do not know where. It looks, though, as if rooms down there are still in use.""Does it answer your question?"
"I took this rod from the teleportation circle," Uragum says as he holds it out for them to see. "Your colleagues can come see me if they want to see it." He then waits as the others supply anyninput of their own.
"Curious..." Brother Keefe mutters, "If this were only a matter of a strange crypt, I would have little concern, but I find it troubling that you say it is in use. Do you believe it to be safe for the moment? Could you show me what you have found below?"
"Certainly", Ola went forward, showing Brother Keefe the way. "Try not to touch anything: we disarmed," (she did not mention "by our bodies" part), "most of the traps, but there can be more".

Whether it is anchored to the ground or simply held in place by the water that has frozen around it, Uragum tries, but is unable to yank the rod free.
