Pouring over the leader's dagger, the professor senses a similar aura of divination magic he already felt from the jade amulet. After about ten minutes or so of studying the object, Snively notices how he seems to suddenly be more aware of the surrounding jungle, hearing more clearly, but somehow knowing whether a sound of rustling leaves was the wind, or a moving creature. Though alert, he is also calm, seemingly knowing whether the group was under threat or not.
Berrus, you quickly realise that the skin of the grung is poisonous, with a paralytic effect, as your fingers go numb. Putting on gloves, as you inspect the bodies, you find jade amulets similar to the one the Professor found just a couple hours earlier, though these represent snakes, apes, and bears. After checking with the Professor, you determine that the amulets are non-magical.
Shae meanwhile finds a couple of starchy roots, which, though bitter, could probably be consumed if cooked.
Will give Shae a more detailed overview of the medical status of the group, don't have my notes with me at the office, sorry XD )

Maxine, faithful to her craft, collected the poison from the creatures skin. She did not see much points in autopsy this time - doubtfully poisonous frogs eat the same thing humans/dwarves/gnomes do (though, it might be useful to know, if Faeking is taking as a food or needed alive to talk). Anyway, she felt too tired and clumsy to skilfully do anything, so, she tried to help with simple menial tasks like collecting firewood or digging roots found by Shae.
OOC: You would know that organical posions other than venoms quickly lose their potency, so sampling some grung poison won't do much good.
Inspecting the surrounding area nearby, Maxine notices no sign of water. Pondering this, she realises that these creatures must have hunted them from their usual territory, likely also where Faekin had now been dragged to.

Keeping the dagger for now, Professor S takes the jade amulet to Captain Thasselandra and gives it to her, saying, “This item appears to make one more perceptive in reacting to danger. I suggest you use it as you lead us through the jungle.”
To the others, he says, “We need water badly, but we have injured and exhausted people here. I volunteer to help go look for water in a few minutes if you more capable survivalists will join me.” Snively looks around hopefully at the others, wishing he had the ability to summon water magically. Sighing, he starts the ritual to summon the magical disc for transporting the water barrels.

Maxine left pointless work and returned to the things at hand. "Professor, I am afraid I will be useless out there. As my father used to call it - can not find your butt with the lamp and the map. I'll stay to help Shae with the injured and watch over the camp."
Shae managed to find some starchy roots to cook up for the group and this time she was able to prepare them better than her last meal. She'd sprinkle a little Prestidigitation on it to spice it up. The warlock would hand out everyone's meals, hopefully before they set out looking for water. She'd look up at the sky, "Do you think it could rain tonight?" her question was actually directed to Kam who had been silent for a while, but she would say it out loud so the others could hear.
"We wish. By the way, we might want to make a rain-catcher for the future. Can sacrifice a bedroll for that - better to sleep on the ground but with some water."
"Berrus, I would be glad of your company and protection," says Snively, adding to his capable porter, "Can you guide us to water, Cliff?" He would ask Bertrand, but the man looks half-dead after the battle and the journey.

As for the medical state of the party: Faekin has been unconscious before he was dragged away, Bertrand has come close to death twice and is barely holding it together now, covered in several deep cuts and partly paralyzed by the grung poison, though the sensation, and with it the pain, is returning. Beyond anything though, he is now deeply exhausted. Brax has suffered some serious wounds too, which, combined with his hurt leg leave him in a weakened and exhausted state. Cliff, even though in the fray of things, has only suffered superficial cuts, but some of them are still bleeding and need to be taken care of to avoid infection. The intense rage he felt is now counterposed by an almost catatonic state, coupled with deep exhaustion. Falx, suffered a slash to the stomach, and although not saying too much, his cut is rather serious. Luckily, his armour has held in the intestines so far, but Falx knows that his wound needs immediate treatment, and that he won't be able to do much fighting in the days to come. Thasselandra, though back to consciousness, still has a broken off arrow head lodged in her shoulder, and she is in severe pain. Berrus has suffered a stab to the abdomen, and though only a glancing blow, should still be looked at.
Zip and Berrus offer to go with the Professor to go and find water, while Maxine and Shae take care of the wounded inside the camp.
As the small party of three starts to explore the dark jungle, they quickly hear the buzzing of the Moskito swarms, stinging them repeatedly. Despite the fact that they are absolute pests, both Zip and the Professor know that they do only occur within a couple hundred feet of a body of water however, and , after another fifteen minutes of searching, you turn a bend in the undergrowth and see the torchlight reflected on the surface of a small pool of water. Just beside it, however, you spot the now familiar grung shape. One of the warriors seems to be laying in wait here.

Berrus, you notice that the creature is covered in blood, and likely dying. Though it has turned its head towards you, it is either too weak or too wounded to lift its weapon towards you.
Professor, your dagger does not seem to help you in noticing this creature particularly.
