While Zack prepares his spell, Ankor looks at the two beds, "would you rather sleep by the Window or Door?" He walks over to the window and looks outside, are there any other buildings or something anyone or anything could use to climb the building? , ( Investigation Check: 12 ), After looking around and satisfied with what he sees. Ankor takes the bed closest to the door and goes through his own ritual like routine placing his weapons, shield and body armor out on the chest at the foot of the bed. making sure to keep a hand ax within reach

Ankor checks the windows and sees that even the adjacent roof of the shorter building is hard to see in this fog. It appears to be a little lower than this upstairs building, so potentially simple enough to jump across to should they need to make a hasty escape from the room.
(Ready to move on tomorrow, if you have more bedroom chatter etc. feel free to do so tonight.)
After Zack is finally finishes whatever it is he finished writing, he takes this book and puts it under his pillow along with his spell book. Nobody's going to be slick enough to touch his spell book without him waking up since he was literally resting his pillow on the two books.
The group rests up for the evening. As they hide under their blankets, they feel chill shivers, the rooms somewhat cold even under the freshly made bedding. The wind lightly howls on the windows, causing people to wake up occasionally. However, they are otherwise uninterrupted. Tefkae, standing watch at the entrance to the building, doesn't see anyone pass the inn during that six hour gap. The faint lantern lights around the street just about keeping the fog from impeding view completely.
Everyone benefits from a long rest, and you gain a level (level 6)!
The next morning there is a knock at each of the doors to the rooms."I hope I am not interrupting." The elderly man's voice comes forth. "It is customary for the innkeeper to prepare food around this hour for guests."
Zack wakes up and says, "Thank you. We will be right down." If Ankor hasn't woken up yet, he would wake the paladin up. "Looks like the innkeeper has prepared breakfast."
"AHHHHHHHH" Ankor screams as he grabs his handaxe and Zack, being startled awake and jumps to his feet after their long day yesterday. "Oh sorry Zack, Didn't mean to... You said food was ready?" Ankor puts Zack down on his feet. "Go ahead and gather the others I will be down in just a moment." After Zack leaves the room, Ankor sits on the bed head in his hands elbows on his knees and contemplates what just happened and how it's happened before, these bouts of terror when he awakens in a new place. after a few minutes, he turns and gathers his belongings, saying a quiet prayer as he puts on his armor, cleans his sword before securing its sheath to his belt. As he walks out of the room, he will check and knock on Victoria's door and the Captain's door to see if the group has indeed gone downstairs or is together in one of the rooms.

Around the six hour mark and the end of their 'resting' period, Tefkae sat down and began rooting around in her pack. Among the various bits and bobs they pull out are small vials filled with strange liquids, stones bearing strange sigils, and small metallic junctions that looked to possibly be replacement parts. For them. So focus on the task they had become that even Ankor's shouting, announcing the awakening of others by extension, failed to even register to the warforged.
After one last discharge of what appeared to be electricity into one of their creations, it is not long before people hear the sound of.... Well, noone actually 'hears' the construct coming. But their synthesized feminine voice calls over to Ankhor, "Good... Morning. Are you awakening the captain?"They ask, just as Ankor had started knocking on doors. Soon as they had their answer, Tefkae wastes not a moment more with pleasantries to stand at the ready by the door it with some strange u-shaped contraption in hand.
(You lose a level of exhaustion when you complete a long rest.)
"Of course we are awake."Cpt. Obaysch calls through from his room. "We shall be down once morning routines are completed." There is some creaking of floorboards from beyond door #6, perhaps the giff is doing morning stretches. Sailor lazily opens his eyes, then wags his tail as he sees Victoria come and collect him. He yaps a couple of times, then runs around her legs and follows her downstairs.
Headed downstairs, there is the smell of a cooked breakfast and the sound of sizzling fats can be heard coming from around the corner. Heading into a side room, there is a room with three tables set up for groups of six. On two of the tables there are clean platters and glasses placed out. A pair of double doors at the end of the room presumably lead into the kitchen, as the sizzling noise comes from beyond.
Tefkae hears the others coming downstairs and through the main foyer, it appears they didn't die in the "night", though there has been no change in the shade or light since the group arrived, so it is difficult to say it is really day or night.
After a few more minutes the double doors open, a trolley being pushed through slowly by the elderly man. "I apologise if this is not up to snuff. We've not had visitors in... well..."
The breakfast looks slightly overcooked, but a meal nonetheless. Eggs, bacon, sausages, potatoes, toast, it appears to be a hearty protein-focused breakfast.
Zack leaves out the bacon and the sausages. He didn't care much for pork. He does enjoy the toast and the eggs though. He always did like his eggs a bit. As for the toast, it wasn't the worst he's had. It'll do.
As the party tuck into their food, the elderly man looks to Tefkae. "Oh, another traveller!" He says surprised. "I am sorry, I did not realise there was another customer. I will need to put your name in the ledger."
Ankor sits next to Zack, waits until Victoria has taken her plate. He's a bit if a big eater and wants to make sure everyone has their share. Also looking at the captain as if to see how much would be left between the two of them, being as big in size compared to the rest of the group.
Closing his eyes he mutters a small prayer. For Zack if he's listening or anyone else can only make out parts of what he says.
"I....thanks.... strength which....delivers...by your honor."

Tefkae did not sit at the table, but stood close enough to the edge to listen and be loosely sat by. A re-summoned Mr. Pepper had less compunctions, and more than happily walked along the table looking for bits of meat to snatch up from plates if not given one himself.
"Unnecessary. As there are no current plans to rest or live inside this establishment. If it is however required to enter then.... you may proceed."The dwarf-sized construct replied, sounding wholly unsurprised by the man's surprise. Their attention soon turns away from the rest to stare off in the direction of the stairs, even if that meant staring at a wall. If they caught anything Ankor said it never shows in action or... expression(?). But after the prayer is done, the warforged does turn to him and say while holding out to him what looked to be handcuffs at a glance. "Here. For your hand axe. Attach to handle, and it will return to you upon being thrown."

Ankor accepts the chain from Tefkae. "Thank you, This will prove very useful in battle, I usually have to go searching after a fight. Can this be attached to any weapon?" He then grabs a plate after everyone has taken their food. After finishing the breakfast he asks the group, "What is our plan for today, we have to finish talking to the mayor, this scholar, and huntress to meet and possibly talk to also. That beast that came from the mist, I have never seen anything like that, when it fell is spawned those winged creatures from within. When I kill something I like it to be dead, no surprises afterward, and I usually have a few tricks up my sleeve for the undead. that thing at first almost looked like a mirage. Not to mention whoever these people pray to, helped them out by blessing their weapons, an unblessed weapon didn't seem to do much damage to it."
I am assuming that it is a chain of returning, no added bonus to attack or damage, but for mechanics in battle, will it be an additional action to pull the weapon back, or is it an automatic thing after the damage is calculated. Guessing like Grog had in campaign 1 of Critical Role. or like Mjolnir for Thor.
I think we're working with the Returning Weapon in artificer.
Returning Weapon
Item: A simple or martial weapon with the thrown property
This magic weapon grants a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it, and it returns to the wielder’s hand immediately after it is used to make a ranged attack.
The elderly man takes notes of Tefkae and adds him to the ledger underneath the others. He notes that the "duration of stay" has not been recorded yet, possibly as the party haven't given a select amount of days they intend to stay.
Breakfast continues without any disturbances. Captain Obaysch speaks to the party about what they should do next, while Eight-Bit stands similarly to Tefkae, in a robotic and vigilant stance. Sailor the pup snaffles any food sent his way happily, jumping up at people's feet under the table, mostly staying near Victoria.
"So we need to speak with any carpenters we can locate today." Captain Obaysch mentions. "An inland town like this will make it less likely to have a shipwright. The earlier we leave, the less about these mist beasts we have to worry about, what-what?" The giff taps the box of matches open, counting how many are remaining. "Hmm, yes, I think a morning smoke should suffice." He says to himself, before looking to the group. "Now I'll leave the finding of the carpenter to my jolly crew. The first mate and I shall go see what else we can find, like extra provisions and armaments." The modron stands a little bit more to attention upon being mentioned.
