“Very well. Just keep in mind every minute we sit here we increase our chances of losing the vampire... but... it seems like you care about this place and the people here. Hopefully we can end all of this on good terms with each other,” Claire says, though she turns nose up at the end and seems to busy herself with inspecting a stain on the cell wall.
She nods in acknowledgment before leaving the room. A few moments later Narz hears a knock on the door and Chalaska enters the room. Once though this time she brings the two other with her. A man in his 40s with salt and pepper hair dressed in heavy armor and a young woman in the robes of a caster, both decorated with the guards colors. Narz right? Chalaska takes a seat. So let's hear your side of events. What exactly went down at the inn?
Narz quiet muttering of a countdown of some kind came to an end only after Chalaska sat down. It's then that he looked up, considers the pair the woman had brought with her, and then slowly nods. Whether that was in acknowledgement of the questions or of something else however is hard to say. Regardless, the hobgoblin straightens up further in his seat, clears his throat, and in formal tones began to speak. "Things went as followed. The tortle created an illusory Sun accompanied by holy symbols to reveal the vampire in the Inn. Which was quite effective. Unfortunately, we were not able to fully capitalize on the moment as effectively as desired, as conspirators of the vampire stood to... ward us away from ending the creature, and departing without further fuss. Personally-" Narz catches himself there, and with a faintest hint of a frown to touch an otherwise neutral veneer.
"Sorree 'bout that there. You wanted details of the events themselves, and not idle commentary and so forth. So, I will try to keep from such flavoring of the events with tangents, important as some might actually be. Now, where was I.... Ah. Yes. So, the Inn Keeper claimed to be the forgiving type, and have us depart under the condition we left town that instance. While I cannot speak on behalf of my... let's say compatriots for the time being, Claire was... disgusted and aggravated upon learning of their Alliance. Which I had w-.... Mn... Sorre again. Sticking to the event."
"She was disgusted by her tone, and I believe might've started to question something at the time. But... I cannot be certain. Most of my attention had been on the Vampire and the conspirators. By the time I caught hints of her reciting a spell, it was already too late. At which point the conspirators with crossbow fired and combat ensued. I barely managed to get into a defensive posture for what little good that did me. The Vampire had rightly singled me out as a prime target to dispatch, grabbing and biting me once-" At that point, Narz tries to pull at the collar of his top to further expose the injury, and any flesh still dark from being necrotized by contact with the undead.
"Before I managed to struggle free... It.... drained me of not just blood, but seemed to almost revitalize itself. For my compatriots had done a fair bit of harm to it before that point. Afterwards, it fell back, allowing some other conspirator to engage me. Fortunately, it was around then that I got my bearings again. And upon realizing not only where the Vampire had fell back to, but its next intent for the bystander near it, there would be no opportunity to keep the inevitable from happening. So, I chose to be... efficient. The vampire would badly burned or destroyed. The building would burn, removing its cover from the sun in time. And a few of those Bashaba cursed tavern goers... some would die. Painfully so. But far quicker death than the what the vampire and its conspirators were going to deliver had they came out on top... or had we left."
At that point Narz paused as much to let the words sink as it was give Chalaska a moment to interject. If Narz held any remorse for such brutality, it hardly if ever showed in his veneer. And likely if it did, the more insightful in the room might register it as less a remorse for having killed innocent bystanders, and moreso the sort of regret a cold-hearted dragonchess player who was not quite satisfying in the execution of minor move. If in any event Chalaska showed approval for him to continue, either in her silence or tacit remark, Narz does so in that same formal tone. "Afterwards, I shouted a general warning to all, before stepping outside. The others would be able to further elaborate on what happened next. But eventually I returned to the door, and in barely making out the mist, again held nothing back. A released another fireball assuredly catching none but the vampire in the blast, before preparing myself to deal with any conspirators that came running out of the blaze. That is when you and the rest of your unit arrived on the scene."
Chalaska listens intently, taking notes here and there before giving you a cold glare at the callous remarks towards the killing of innocents. I don't know if I should be glad you're being honest or concerned at how little you seem to regard the lives of those around you. You admit to the killing of two innocent bystanders and the maiming of one as well as the destruction of the towns namesake inn then. Chalaskas tone makes it clear this is not a question but merely a statement of fact. With a wave of a hand towards the female guard she says Suzanna check the wound. I want your appraisal on its source. The woman nods and approaches. In a quiet voice she says Please tilt your head, thank you. She inspects it for a moment with a few "hmmms" to herself. You see her pull out a metal measuring stick and feel the coldness of the metal on your neck briefly. Diameter of the punctures and distance apart are consistent with fangs. The wound itself its clean and precise, not likely made from an animal or any regular humanoid who happened to have sharp canines. I've never seen a vampires mark outside of medical textbooks but its certainly consistent with those diagrams.
Chalaska nods and makes a note though you can see her visibly pale at the thought of the vampire. Well, that certainly complicates matters, but unfortunately it doesn't resolve things. As I said to your cleric friend, if you had good reason to believe a vampire was lurking in our town you should have come to me or one of my Lieutenants instead of taking things into your own hands. She signs and puts down her pen and glares at you. You can sense the internal conflict within her as she considers what to do. You adventurers, you travel from town to town with no regard for the people who live there. Always acting brashley and on your own without any care who has to clean up the mess when you leave town the next morning. Who cares if you kill a few innocents? Who cares if the enemy takes a hostage? Just fireball them and call it day. You don't have to pull the charred corpse from the wreckage. You don't have to tell the widow their fate. You just do whatever the hells you want and move on to ruin someone else's lives in the next town over. She pauses and sighs. Maybe you were right. Maybe the vampire or the Zhents would have killed them anyway. It doesn't give you the right to kill those people. You didn't even try to consider another solution.
The room falls silent for a moment before the man in the heavy armor clears his throat. Ma'am, not to interrupt but if that vampire is still on the loose...Chalaska nods her understanding. Look, let's make this quick then. Narz, you'll be brought up on charges of murder and arson. Any of those alone are hanging offenses. There are no judges or juries here, this is not Waterdeep afterall. All decisions of what punishment to issue and all executions are handled by me personally, however, that's all on paper. Though I am in charge if the town in many aspects the truth is far more complicated as you probably can guess. The Zhentarim hold on this town is strong and the merchant council holds a fair amount of sway as well. Beyond that half of my guards are corrupt and in the pocket of the Zhentarim and I'm powerless to stop it. The only people I fully trust within my own organization are in this room right now. As long as the Zhentarim have a grip on this town, they hold sway over both the guard and the merchant council.
I'd like to say you acted in self defense. But after speaking to you, I'm not sure your actions would have been different even if you hadn't been bitten. Burning down the inn, the towns biggest money maker, is going to anger the merchant council and they will demand I take your head. The families of the dead will demand I take your head. The Zhents will use their influence to demand I take your head. If I don't, I'll find myself replaced, likely by someone more malleable to the Zhents goals. I'd like to say we can help each other here. If your vampire fled underground, I suspect I know where he is hiding and I doubt he'll leave anytime soon. If you and your companions can join the three of us here in this room, we can wipe out the Zhentarim leadership in this town along with the vampire in one foul swoop. I'd like to say that, but honestly I'm not sure I could help you in return. As it stands, your friends, the cleric, the monk, the merc and the frustrating turtle, are all likely to face some sort of punishment. We really don't have a need for hard labor, so corporal punishment is usually what we rely on. If you all help, I can give them some leeway, maybe even get them off entirely without angering the entire town. You however, will not get off so easy.
As it stands however, I cannot let a vampire run loose in my town. The three of us here will have to form a plan of action, but if you're truly hunting this creature then I would eagerly accept your aid. In return ill do my best to see your friends get off lightly. Your weapons and equipment will be returned to you. When the deed is done, assuming we all make it back, I'll expect you to turn yourself in to face the charges I laid before you. If you're lucky, defeating the vampire might earn you enough goodwill that I can get away with mercy without starting a riot. Can I trust you to agree to that?

In spite of Chalaska's obvious distaste in him, Narz remained a model prison. At a request to check the wound, he had done so without a word. And when presented with increase in hostility and insult -- however unintended it had been, both of which were grounds any upstanding hobgoblin would've met in equal measure, the wizard kept calm and met her gaze. If there was moment at all that calm began to show any hints at fraying, it was the implied declaration of a lack of consideration on his part before the room went silent. That one he met with a slight narrowing of the eyes in disapproval for just a second, before against protocol, he closed eyes altogether and quietly sighed through his nose.
Only once the quiet ended and there was more to be said on Chalaska's part did Narz open them again to respectfully listen with his full attention. Then, there is silence once more. During which it is clear Narz appeared to be weighing the 'pros and cons' again with a small frown of dissatisfaction before eventually sighing again. "Time is of the essence. But, seeing as how this might be last opportunity to do so, and out of respect for position -- a respect you seem to think I lack -- I would ask for at least a chance to speak candidly for a moment." He requests, and upon receiving it, gratefully nods.
"What I am about to say is in no way some last-minute attempt to curry favor or as an act of goodwill. Merely a setting the record straight, for what little that matters at this point... Contrary to your misconception, it is not that I'm not concerned for the lives around me. I'm not some monster, after all. Nor had I not considered other solutions. From the moment we walked through those doors -- the moment I failed to curb the plan to hunt at its root in fact, I accepted there would be consequence. And when I was proven right about how deep the corruption went -- even if only the tip of the iceberg of this city's madness, as it turns out -- there were no results that did not assure the death of at least some of those people. At best, they would've been food for the creature. At worse future minions."
"As for us, even if the decision was somewhat taken from me as far being allowed to 'accept' those conspirators -- those Zhents offer, there was no guarantee, no promises, no assurances that we would not suffer consequences. So, between a protracted fight and temporarily sparing walking corpses -- the 'people' I had no right to kill, but assuring the demise of my compatriots OR... making sure they lived and most of the fallout would be directed upon me, because I had no intention acting like some 'craven' adventure who'd have fled or tried to weasel out of responsibility,..." He pauses there, appearing to consider his next words. And then looked to Chalaska. The hobgoblin's expression actually softening just a bit for the first time. "You don't strike me as naive or as much an idealist as Claire. So, what would you have genuinely done in that situation as an outsider if you were in my position? Would have let your men die and possibly be turned for the sake of a clear conscious, or accepted your own inevitable demise by execution even had your team succeeded, knowing someone would have to take a fall? Hate me, if you wish. I will not fault you, for again how very little that matters. The fact of the matter is that I have far more respect for you and your position than what you'll ever know or accept. And had an Iggretchin not been at the heart of this matter...."
Narz sighs and shakes his head. "I've spoken too long... I accept your terms, and look forward to working with you."
IF however not granted that earlier permission, he still nodded in acceptance, but would instead simply say, "Very well. Going forward then, as a gentlebeings agreement, I will adhere to your request of assistance. But if this is to work, I ask for two things. The first is honesty. You and I both know that no amount of "goodwill" will be enough. Not for the bereaved, the merchants, and not... for you. So, when the time inevitably comes, all I ask only to be allowed to die in the method of my choosing as compensation for services rendered. Publicly still, if you insist, and with your hand involved as befitting your station. Otherwise, there's really no reason why I should assist you. Not even for my compatriots. Though, I doubt they won't be able to muddle their way through despite their shortcomings."
SR Healing: 21. (1st two rolls would've been enough, so deducting that.)
Narz is granted the time to speak so feel free to ignore the later half of that post. Also everyone gets a sr as I mentioned to Narz. Will respond properly later.
Chalaska doesn't respond otbernthan a nod here and there as she considers your words. However once terms are accepted she stands and packs away her things. Good, then I see no reason to continue questioning the rest of your compatriots. It would waste time and it would be unfortunate if I learned anything else incriminating them further. Lieutenant, please gather the five prisoners and have them escorted to my office, see to it that their weapons are returned as well. I want some privacy while we discuss our plan of attack.
Narz is led out with Chalaska while the rest of you are eventually escorted out by one of the two Lieutenants. Soon you are all sitting in her office along with Dakkurz. The Lieutenants take off any bindings and return your weapons and materials back to you. Alright, I'll make this quick for the rest of you but Narz and I have come to an agreement. The wound on his neck is proof enough your claims of a vampire in our town is true. As I explained to Narz and to some extent to Claire as well, the Zhentarim have a stronghold within the city. They've been using the inn you burned down as a front and unfortunately have bought off several of my guardsmen as well as the merchant council. With the inn burned down and several of the Zhents already dead inside, I believe this would be an ideal time to strike back at the bastards and restore some law to this town. Narz has agreed that your party will accompany me and my trusted Lieutenants here in an effort to destroy the vampire and the Zhent leadership protecting it. Your cleric was able to determine it fled underground which if that is the case then I can almost guarantee its still there, hiding in the Zhent hideout below the town. I believe I know where another entrance is and can escort you there. Once we are below we may have to split up. I'm led to believe the small cave system below has been expanded by the Zhents and the leadership may be split up. In exchange for you assistance I can see that most of you are absolved of any charged in relation to burning of the inn and the killing of innocent bystanders. Narz here has agreed to return himself into my custody once this is finished to answer for those crimes.
I'm sure you have questions so I'll give you this moment to speak up and ask now.
Torsus' face had been one of stoic frustration. He'd had planned to give this little ***** a stern talking to, one she would likely have found very insulting, along the lines of 'your kind ((weak to worrying about every little thing, instead of focusing on the greater threat, etc)) don't live long in an actual fight' and so forth, among a myriad of other things. He was surprised though at Narz actions, though not entirely. However the last sentence gives Torsus the chance to vent some of his frustrations. His hands are put behind his back and cusp eachother in as close to an 'at attention' pose as he can get considering his shape.
So if Narz here will be put up on charges after this is all over, I assume you will as well then? For the moment you stopped us from pursuing the thing in the first place, every death caused by him or his allies is now on your hands, and it was you who allowed him to live longer, recuperate his strength, convert more to his cause, ... speaking of which I don't recall if any of us ever mentioned this to you, but this entire escapade was caused by him killing one of ourown allies, and turning him into a monster as well. And that ally is very strong.. likely stronger now, and because of this delay, is likely now going to be forced to defend his new master, a master we were attempting to free him of. I have a particular penchant of dislike for masters, for mine own reasons.
And by the time we have assailed him, it's been, what? At-least an hour, if not two? They have readied their defenses, whereas had we not been hindered, they would have been in dissaray - at-least moreso than they will be now. They've had time to setup their defenses, as well as any traps, of which I'm sure you're willing to prove me wrong by leading the way. his face still stoic, in a seething fury that only an older being could muster.
So I ask again, when will you accept your own charges should any innocents come to harm in the process of all this, or should the vampire escape, yet again, to harm others elsewhere due to your naivete? Or will you tell me that you are above the law yourself, proving yourself to be a hypocrite, child?
The last word bleeding with condescension. Taking a slow breath in and out then, before adding Before we came here we saved Goldenfields from a giant raid. From what I have read in a note (zacks), this group had originally saved a town from Zhent control, before killing the one whom had caused some plague I, myself, had not heard of but, apparently had been sweeping through towns, and killing in days. And had saved the duchess of daggerford from captivity. All in the span of a few months. While you sat here bloviating. Regardless, I am ready to go. I was ready to go, a long time ago before a guard who has saved no one decided to interrupt. So lets be done with it.
Claire facepalms as torsus goes on his tirade. Not only did he out Rollo as a vampire spawn to an authority figure, he was further damaging their groups rapport with the woman on whom their fate essentially depended. She scratches her head then speaks quickly, hoping the comment about Rollo was lost in the rest of the word vomit. “I mean, from her perspective a bunch of strangers showed up and burned down an inn without any reported probable cause. She had no more reason to believe the rumors than we all did when we first came... and innocent civilians were lost in that fire.” Claire keeps her eyes on the ground up until this point but then lifts her gaze to Torsus. “These last few hours also may have been saved if you had tried to help Aeyd and I convince her to help us rather than spend your words challenging her to a ridiculous duel, and we will only waste more time if you insist on bickering. As far as investigations go, the fact that we’re already out here, have our weapons back, and are about to head out is nothing short of a miracle.” Claire turns to Chalaska. “Thank you for your speedy resolution and willingness to work with us. Please overlook Torsus’s complaints. We should be off.”

Chalaska looks to be trying to keep herself from doing something rash while her two Lieutenants seems to be looking at each other with worried expressions and hands on weapons. Finally Chalaska takes a deep breath and looks to Claire. You are right and I won't even dignify his insults with a response. We should go but first there is one last bit of preparation. Dakkurz, I know your goblin mercs are in town. I'd like you to go fetch them and have them join us. We'll need all the help we can get and I dont know which of my guard will turn on us if it seems profitable so this seems like my only option. Lastly, there are three leaders we are looking for. Female halfing named Dawn, A human male Akiyama, and a male half elf Cameryn. If they are there defending the vampire as I suspect then that is proof enough of their guilt. No need to take them alive. Of course the vampire is priority. Are there any further questions?
Claire, it does seem Chalaska either didn't hear or chose to ignore that information on Rollo. The two guards in the room seemed to worried about a fight starting that they seemed to have missed it as well.

While in her waiting cell, Aeyd could be seen pacing around, and when she wasn't, she would be sitting down shaking her leg in anxiousness. She feared the creature making an escape as the time kept ticking down. She also feared that her compatriots (mainly Torsus in this case) would jeopardize their mission in some way. If they came in to question her, what should she say? What was okay to talk about? The monk would sit in silence to wait for her turn, if it came.
And thankfully, it didn't.
When freed and when Chalaska speaks of what the plan was now, the monk listens intently. Her lips part to speak at the end, only to be clamped shut when Torsus begins his speech. Aeyd understood his frustrations, but she knew now wasn't the time to air out complaints, and thankfully Claire speaks out in hopes to assuage any irritation Chalaska may have garnered from it.
"No questions from me. Let us be off."

Narz lofted a brow. Although not exactly surprised by the Tortle's action itself, his coming to the hobgoblin's defense, even if only tangently so due to alternate motivations, was not something Narz knew how best to process, let alone react to. By principle alone however, he kept his expression fairly neutral throughout much of the airing of grievances, mutely debating whether to step in or not in Chalaska's behalf. But then something said has the hobgoblin doing a double take before squinting a bit at Torsus.
'Dislike for masters, is it...hmm... Perhaps he's not so "unaware" as he-' His thoughts trail off there with Claire's counterpoint (and sparing the hobgoblin from interjecting by extension) draws his attention fully onto the discussion at hand. What followed after, he listened to attentively, nodding his head at the occasional point, before ultimately at least starting to raise a hand. But then when he went to speak, he hesitates for a second frowning, and then shake his head. "None... Dakkurz." He turns to the hobgoblin mercernary. "Come what may, I will keep my word for services rendered before, and... compensation for this added variable." He says, making an offhanded gesture at their surroundings. "And if you happen to see my Worg, Vigo, before I do. Let him know that I've given permission for you to may make use of him for this mission, if you think he will be of help."
With everything more or less settled Chalaska escorts you out the room and out the back of the barracks. Whilenwalling Dakkurz nods to Narz and says Eh, don't worry about it. If we are truly taking down the Zhent hideout I'm sure ill find a way to get paid. In a whisper she then says But where is Spaz? Perhaps he could give a message to Vigo? I mean, you're not really going to stick around to be executed are you?
Dakkurz sticks around long enough to quickly finish her conversation with Narz before having to leave and go fetch the rest of her mercs though she soon rejoins with them in tow. Finally Chalaska leads you to a small warehouse and once inside she orders her Lieutenants to search the room. While waiting she explains she knows this warehouse to be connected in someway to the Zhents. Almost on cue Suzanna calls that she found the.hidden entrance, a small wooden trap door that was hidden behind some old rugs. Checking for traps and finding only a few that are easily avoiding once you know where they are Chalaska leads you down and into a man-made tunnel that opens up to a natural cavern. You finally reach a cross roads and Chalaska stops you. Alright, up ahead looks like natural stone and these two off shoots look like they were dug out. So I'm guessing straight ahead is the main chamber but we can't rule out the other passage ways. Dakkurz, take your mercs and head left. Suzanna and Rickard you both head right. The rest of us are going straight. Remember, priority is the vampire, if he's located he must be destroyed. The other targets are the three leaders I mentioned earlier. If you can engage and take them out then please do. Now let's go,prepare any spells you want ready now.
She gives you time to cast or prepare one spell before moving forward. Eventually you come to a small open chamber about 30ft across and 25 ft wide with a similar tunnel almost directly across from you. You can hear several voices, including one you all recognize as belonging to the vampire though you don't have eyes on him just yet.
In the room itself there are several wooden platforms raised 20ft off the ground with crates and barrels stacked on top of them. Under a platform to your left is a desk lit by a lamp with a half elf standing over it and looking frustrated. To the right are several bunks and chests with a few people sleeping and just behind them are some wooden tables were a group seems to be playing cards.
Narz started to furrow his brows, realizing just then that he had not quite taken Dakkurz' measure as fully as once thought. But just as his lips are about to part, the questions to give him cause to look away thoughtful for a bit. Within that same instance, he reached out to Spaz and insure that not only would he'd be able to pick up the arcane focus on the way out, but Vigo would after have the familiar as his guide. Together the pair would eventually track down the hobgoblin (and by extension, the party) by the time they reached the warehouse. At which point Vigo's job would be to play lookout, and snap up any foe that might come fleeing out of the warehouse. Unless Dakkurz wanted the Worg as the mercenary hobgoblin suggested, then at which point he stoically follows along...
But before things quite progress to that point, Narz uses the brief window allotted to whisper back in [goblin] to Dakkurz, "I've alerted him. They'll catch up. Eventually. And... The agreement was to return to 'her' custody at the end of this. A lot can happen in the intervening time. Battle can get confusing. Evidence supporting my demise can turn up if an opportunity presents itself." Alongside the last part, he clutches his left arm, glances down at Dakkurz' blade, then to the hobgoblin herself with a meaningful look. He then switches to common and calmly adds, "Suppose we'll just have to see, eh? Because, at the end of the day, a deal is a deal. So long as the rest of motley crew makes it through and fixes the Giant problem, what's one cast off's life?"
Unless there was more from Dakkurz at that point, Narz contented himself with putting the rest of his focus on the mission. Which later on would mean Vigo being given his orders, Spaz is left with Dakkurz' crew as well to provide assistance/possible communication, and when it came time later to prepare a spell, the hobgoblin made [action]ready[action] to bent the world's hold on Ayed, figuring her to make the best use of it.
When the make it to the next room, the spell is immediately released alongside a quiet but sharp to the others, "Now. Before they notice."
(To Urben: Don't know if Narz could do more than the above, so cutting it off there. But if he can, how large a clump of people could he get with Almighty Pull?)
Torsus had said what he wanted to to quell his personal outrage for the moment. And had luckily been more or less saved by Claires interjection. He had accidentally let slip about Rollo, but he wasn't fond of people like Chalaska, who's heads were so in the 'rules' that they couldn't see out their own asses. Besides, Torsus had reasons to be as mad as he was. She was interfering in something he couldn't risk losing now that it was within his sights. So he kept his mouth shut as they walked, and moved throughout the area towards, and eventually into the place the vampire may or may not even be at...
When the 'room' makes its appearance, Torsus quickly goes through his list of spells, while he could Hadar, and damage all of them easily, that would be as much of a detriment to himself and his 'allies' in this case, as it would be a benefit. And the vampire could simply escape. Putting them to sleep would likely result similarly as last time. Fear, while effective, likely wouldn't be the best course of action, but an idea did pop into his head. He will wait until he can confirm where the vampire is, and once the vampire can see Chalaska (Mainly so I can't meta and say 'he mentally seeks out the vampurrs mind hurr durr') and laces his mental voice with a spell as he speaks. Speaking to the vampire, Torsus suggests a target.
You should focus on that ***** Chalaska, she will forever be a thorn in you side otherwise. You can turn her as well, you need to focus on her before worrying about the others.
To clarify, Torsus will wait until he can both 'see' the vampire, and knows that the Vampire 'can/could' see Chalaska, before casting suggestion that .. to simplify it 'he should mindlessly focus on her and ignore everyone else. Taking her down is his top priority, etc. But again he will only cast it once the vampire can see Chalaska, otherwise his 'suggestion' would make no sense, so this is a 'held action' he will move as close to the vampire as possible after Narz spell is cast.

Once spotted, spectral wings unfurl from her back and she flies right to him with her finger tips burning red.

Torsus doesn't have time to worry about what the infinitely strict by-the-book-with-no-flexibility ***** had to say. And he wasn't about to let her kill Narz over her ignorance nor her stubbornness. In the end, this worked in his favor regardless of the outcome as far as he was concerned. he made his way to the center of the 'room' , as unconcerned with his own damage as he usually was, trusting in his shell to protect him, for all the good it did against Urbens Dice. Raising his shield arm just in case, as he whipped his wand out. If there was anyone in the 'loft' or otherwise 'high' area, Torsus would focus on them, though he wouldn't hit the vampire just yet. If there was no one on a high place, he'd instead target two of the 'sleepers' on the bunks. This time, however, that aura appeared around him immediately, with a deep, dark shadow outlining his frame before melding in with the deep purple shades.
He was impressed with Aeyds skill as she performed her attacks. He sent a mental projection to everyone that was part of his 'official party' for once, including Narz... I have compelled the vampire into action. My spell has sunk into his mind. He should be reckless... atleast for a while. Take advantage of it. However, let him bring himself to danger.
As before, if he found someone atleast 20ft above him, preferably farther other than the vampire and an ally, he will send both bolts at that person, the first one to hit (if any) will pull them from their 'perch' but not push. If no one was elevated he'd send a bolt at two different targets 'on a bed' one pulling and one pushing.
Come, mortals. he says aloud to the zhents. Death has come to claim you.

Ma'am, not to interrupt but if that vampire is still on the loose... Chalaska nods her understanding.

For the moment you stopped us from pursuing the thing in the first place, every death caused by him or his allies is now on your hands, and it was you who allowed him to live longer, recuperate his strength, convert more to his cause, ... speaking of which I don't recall if any of us ever mentioned this to you, but this entire escapade was caused by him killing one of our own allies, and turning him into a monster as well.

Ready.

DC 15 WIS save, or he must follow the suggestion the moment he can see her.

Aeyd patiently waits for her compatriots to ready themselves up for the upcoming battle, though once she hears the sound of the vampires voice, her ears twitch in anticipation. Once Narz gives the order, and with his and Claire's spell running through her system, she darts right into the room, her eyes seeking out where the vampire is. Once spotted, spectral wings unfurl from her back and she flies right to him with her finger tips burning red.

In case you need the description of Wings Unfurled:
When you use your Step of the Wind(BA), you can unfurl spectral draconic wings, gaining a flying speed equal to your walking speed until the end of your turn.
She then lands herself nearby him (if possible, if not she'll try to remain as close as she can to them).

Aeyd charges in with intense speed and quickly catches a view of the vampire in the small loft above. Wings unfurl from her back and she quickly closes the distance before anyone realizes what's even happening. Thanks to Claires magical blessing Aeyds fists are guided to her target, sending sparks through the air with each punch. The vampire resists Aeyds first two attempts to stun him but the final blow to neck leaves him stunned and open for attack again. With the vampire and party revealed Toraus quickly utters a magical suggestion to.the vampire, drawing the ire of Chalska as she hears what's being said but still managing to sway the vampires mind.
With that done he is able to take the inative in combat.

Torsus doesn't have time to worry about what the infinitely strict by-the-book-with-no-flexibility ***** had to say. And he wasn't about to let her kill Narz over her ignorance nor her stubbornness. In the end, this worked in his favor regardless of the outcome as far as he was concerned. he made his way to the center of the 'room' , as unconcerned with his own damage as he usually was, trusting in his shell to protect him,
for all the good it did against Urbens Dice.Raising his shield arm just in case, as he whipped his wand out.
