Tori shrugs and tosses the vial back to Tamlynn. "It doesn't seem to be anything natural. I think it might be from another plane... it's not of this world."
"We can always dig the other one out of that sloppy drunk's eye I guess. I don't want to carry that thing around."
"Are we all in agreement? Should we head out, or did someone have a better idea?" she skips along backwards, looking at the group, wondering if anyone will follow.
Tam is a bit taken aback my the revelation. Here? In town? The underdark yes, but here? She wasn't sure why this was confounding her, as she had caught a glimpse of an outsider before everything went down. Hhhmmm
Tam shakes her head at Tori and moves along like a good sheep, thinking.
She looks up and shrugs her shoulders. Couldn't hurt, could it?
Tam takes a deep breath, focuses, and quietly says, "I see where worlds meet." Her eyes are once again not her own behind the green glasses. She sways a bit while walking slowly forward.

As the group moved forward for a few minutes, Elwin finally released his hold over the remote darkness, and relaxed a bit. He'd hoped they'd put enough space between themselves and the guards to not be followed.
He frowned as he processed what he'd heard. Two assassins, both... infected with these strange worms. Worms that weren't of this world, apparently? It all sounded arcane, and he hoped this wouldn't turn into something too complicated. While dark magic didn't normally bother him, that possibility that these things had been crawling inside the assassins' heads, forcing them to do... whatever someone wanted? He suppressed a shudder at the thought.
Ah!
The young man fell behind the group for just a second as he reached into his belt area and pulled out the map he'd taken off the halfling. Holding it up to read as he quickly caught up, he realized it was probably the exact same map that Tori was following, as they appeared to be heading toward one of two X's on it. As far as clues went, it further confirmed that the assassins were connected, but with one map already being followed, it was rather redundant.
"Looks like our assassin had the same map on him," he announced rather blandly. It wasn't exactly a surprising bit of info, and wasn't of much help, but letting the others know made more sense than just keeping it to himself. He folded the map back and put it into his pocket. Surely that wasn't all they'd managed to find?
That was right... fishing it from his side, he examined the assassin's silver dagger as they all continued to walk. "And he had this too, apparently," he added with a tad more enthusiasm.
Not sure what to roll for the dagger. If a check is needed, use whatever is appropriate:
Investigation Check:6 History Check:20 Religion Check:8
Tori casually strides up next to Elwin and glances at the dagger."The assassin I disposed of had a similar dagger."
"We saved an Alchemist from being murdered by the Elf who held the twin to your knife there and took him back to the Hanging Chicken for later" - she turns and winks at Tam.
"He also mentioned that the assassin looked familiar. Apparently, the Elf assassin was a famous bard actor at the Bard's college who was replaced by some of the famous nights of the hanging chicken. He mentioned that the Elf had a sister... was the assassin you bagged female by chance?"
She shows them all her map as they walk in what might by some good chance be the direction of the mark on the map -"This here looks like the tavern we visited to find the drunk who led us to the Alchemist"she says, pointing at the map"although we never went inside. I have no idea what the other dot is. Unless its where we are standing right now. Kind of hard to say. I guess I'm just terrible at reading vague maps" she says with a sigh.
"If this is a wild goose chase, let's head to the bard's college instead, maybe? I guess we'll have to start with trying to figure this map out."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Unfortunately, no, the assassin we captured was a Halfling male."
He listened while Tori explained their findings, pointing out the tavern on the map. As she finished, a thought suddenly came to him.
"You may be right about the other mark being a wild goose chase," he offered. "After all, if the one mark was where your assassin went after your man, then perhaps the other just shows where Quickblade worked, and was killed?"
Whichever check is necessary for Elwin to look at the map and discern if the second mark seems to be where he and Tam just came from, where Quickblade was killed:
Tori takes another look at the map and remembers a detail - "Well, it looks like these are actually entrances to the sewers, so in all reality, we probably have a network of tunnels to explore. We could start at either end I imagine. Maybe it would be best to remain above ground until we have a few more clues though... we need all the information we can get before stumbling into the Big Chip's lair. I have a sneaking suspicion that it's down there."
Her brow furrows in thought as she recalls one more thing the Alchemist had said -"Another name to keep in mind is Thardax the Murderer. Apparently he is a Green Dragonborn who tried to solicit our friendly alchemist for poisons and such, and may have just stolen the ingredients when he was turned down. Let's keep an eye out for this guy and be sure to be very careful when imbibing any drinks offered to us by strangers, well water, or anything of the like."
After a chaotic reunion, and a near arrest by local authorities, the Party pulls their resources/findings, and this is what they have so far in this Murder-Mystery/Wild Goosehunt around the City:
1)After further investigation of the map, Elwin deducts that the Gingerbread Man is indeed hiding in the sewers, deep within the bowels of the City....these assassins were MOST definitely working for him...or her...or it...
2)Tam senses a portal, deep within these bowels. Almost out of her magical reach, but a feint arcane signature tells her that YES, there is a portal to another plane...and the map seems to lead directly to it...
3)The Assassin that Tori took out was confirmed by the Alchemist to have been, along with his Sister, renowned Actors of the Bard's College, until they were fired and replaced, the day before the great Remembrance Day musical show extravaganza...there is no doubt that Altulius Gambles, the Director of the Bard's College, knows both of them very well, and may be under threat. A visit to him could definitely shed some light on that lead....
Also, the Alchemist now owes the PCs. Especially since he is staying at Gavin's for free, the Hanging Chicken's illustrious Bartender will make sure that he pays his debt in full, in the form of potions, which he can make at the Tavern. Every PC may receive 1 potion of Greater Healing (the last of his current stash), and may order any One potion of Uncommon level.
4) The (still) passed out drunk carried around by X does have something wiggling in his eyes...probably another one of those otherworldly Larvae, which the Mastermind most likely implants in his victims to control them...
SO, with that being said and done, the Team decides to go to the Bard's College, right?
OOC: I'm sorry if I've been very distracted recently, I will try and focus a little bit more
Tam comes back to focus, stops dead in her tracks, and expounds, "Hang on. There's a portal, a planar one, beneath us. Pretty sure that map is leading to it. Funny thing, I also felt the presence of an outsider earlier. Is the college really worth it or should be go straight to the source? I'm hedging that we find out more about who we're actually looking for, not those clowns."
Tori shrugs from half way down the street, still walking backwards waiting for the others to catch up and get moving. "I could honestly use some time in a dark tunnel..." she gives Tam a few quick double eyebrow raises and smiles.
"Let's just do it and get down there into the sewer. There's always time for sing-songy bard boys when after we get all grimey and need someone to wash our backs. Right boys?" she looks at X and Elwin, motioning for them to come along.
"Oh, and X, I still owe you a back polish. Sorry about that."
X looked at Tori and gave her what could be interpreted as a sort of sympathetic look “do not trouble yourself with it for now, we can always do it later”

Tam blows kisses to Gavin, as she busts into the door, then heads up to Tori's Room of Titillation and Alchemy to find a place to rest and refresh.
When she awakes, she introduces herself to the Alchemist, thanks him for the potions (greater healing and water breathing), takes a moment for a quick prayer to the Lady of the Moon (for safety) and Solonor (success in the upcoming hunt), then waits for the rest of the crew to head to the sewers.
Elwin graciously accepts one of the healing potions from the alchemist, then when prompted asks for another of the same. He then spends the first part of the rest preparing.
First step, rearranging his backpack, placing the potions somewhere easy to get while re-coiling the rest of his rope (about 30 feet left, by his estimate.) A quick, painful recount of his coins off by himself, then a final re-bundling of everything.
Taking his backpack, he finds a quiet corner for the remaining 20 minutes or so, sits, and tucks his backpack and shield into his lap, arms wrapped around the bundle. It's only then, with the completion of this strange ritual learned from a childhood spent on the streets, that he finally naps.
Tori shrugs and tosses the vial back to Tamlynn. "It doesn't seem to be anything natural. I think it might be from another plane... it's not of this world."
