Having come to a stop and cast his spell, Guilliame calls on the man he has charmed to stop his companion.

Both men stop moving and turn and look at each other in confusion, the charmed man lifting his hands as if to do something but not going through with it.

Then the uncharmed man says, with obvious fear in his voice, "Blacky, I think he's a magus trying to hex us."

The man who Guilliame has charmed then turns to his criminal colleague and says, "Who's a magus?" Then, looking between Guilliame and the other man, he adds, "Come on! The three of us should get out of there right now. Before someone find that merchant and sets the guard on us."

[OOC: Having spent their turns not acting because of confusion, it is now Guilliame's turn again.]

From where I am say:

"Wait here Blacky. There are guards at the other end of this alley. Make sure our friend doesn't walk into a trap."

Do a Charm person on the other person.

Guilliame tells his new friend to wait and then casts another Charm spell at the other villain.

[OOC: Thug #2's Saving throw versus a DC of 12: 16

[OOC: Do you wish to use more hero points?]

OOC No Hero points.

Yell "Run away."

If they keep going then go back to the man on the ground. Otherwise react to what they do.

In response to Guilliame's shout, Blacky turns to look further down the alley where Guilliame says there were more guards.

However, the other man's eyes stay on Guilliame and he speaks in native Stemian, saying, "I don't know what you've done to him, but stop it."

He then rushes forward and swings at Guilliame with his fist: 16

Which connects with Guilliame's chin doing 2 points of damage.

Blacky turns and now speaking in Stemian, says, "What are you doing, Will? We all gotta get out of here."

Blacky then moves up to Will and pushes him him away from Guilliame.

[It is now Guilliame's turn and he would know that attacking Blacky would definitely break the charm on him, but attacking Will wouldn't.]

"Will's gone mad Blacky. Restrain him."

Meanwhile step back and try to avoid any further blows from Will.

[OOC: The best way to do this is to do the Dodge action, which among other things means that all attack against him are made at Disadvantage. I will assume this is what Guilliame is doing.]

Even with Blacky trying to stare him down, Will seems intent on attacking Guilliame. He pulls a knife from under his jerkin, causing Blacky to step back. 

"You're the one that's gone crazy," Will shouts at Blacky and then he lunges at warily watching Guilliame: 12

[OOC: I am going to assume that Guilliame is wearing his leather armour, which with his Defence fighting style gives Guilliame an Armour Class of 14]]

The knife comes close, but misses.

"Will! Stop it!" shouts Blacky as he rushes in and tries to grab Will: 11

Blacky grabs Will around the chest roughly with one arm [OOC: doing 2 points of damage] and also has Will's knife hand restrained.

[OOC: Will is now Grappled.]

[It is Guilliame's turn again.]

[OOC: The rules disarming don't quite cover this situation, so I'm going to rule that Guilliame's attempt to grab the knife from Will's hand will be a contested Athletic check. As Guilliame has proficiency in Athletics, he get to add 3 to his roll making for a total of 22. Will also has proficiency in Athletics and also gets to add 3 to his roll, but because Blacky has him in a Grapple, he will roll at Disadvantage.]

While being grappled by Blacky, Will attempts to stop Guilliame taking his knife: 10

With Blacky's assistance, Guilliame is easily able to twist Will's knife out of his hand and now has it in his.

[OOC: Guilliame has used his Action in this move, he can still Move and use any Bonus Actions he might have (None are relevant) He can even use his Action Surge feature to do another Action. I will also let him throw the knife away as a free action. What do you want him to do?]

Point knife at Will. "Don't hit me again. Why did you attack this man?"

[OOC: Although Will is held, he can try to break free, which means we are effectively still in combat and the above doesn't really use Guilliame's action. He can hold that action in case Will tries to do something. For example, he could try to Attack to subdue with the hilt of the knife if Will attempts to break free. Specifying this sort of thing can help speed things up.]

No action unless Will escapes his grapple in which case try to avoid him retaking dagger and step back.

[OOC: Based on what you said above. This would equate to holding the Dodge action to use in case Will escapes from his grapple. This will give make all hits against Guilliame be at Disadvantage until his next turn.]

"He's got you under some type of spell," snarls Will, who then tries to break free of Blacky's grip.

[OOC: This is an opposed Strength (Athletic) check against Blacky's Strength (Athletic) check

Will's Check: 16

Blacky's Check: 10

However, Blacky definitely seems to have the upperhand and Will's attempt to break free is unsuccessful and he is still incapacitated.

Blacky starts to drag Will down the alleyway towards the fallen man who was their victim, saying, "I don't know what's got into your Will, but we've got to get out of here before the guards grab us for robbing this guy."

[OOC: It is now Guilliame's turn again and the two men are now 15' from Guilliame heading back in the direction of the market.]

OOC Would I would recognise Will as in son of the lady with his items? Or is this just a different Will?

With knife at the ready, Guilliame follows the two struggling men down the alley.

The man named Will turns to other, and with a note of desperation in his voice, says, "Blacky? You've got to stop this. We'll get arrested by the guard, and my mother will never live down the shame."

[OOC: This will give Will the chance to use Persuasion (at Disadvantage because of the situation) to change Blacky's mind about what he is doing.

Will's Persuasion roll at Disadvantage: 14, 4 (Adding the second roll because I forgot to make it at Disadvantage.)

Comparing the lower roll to Guilliame's Spell DC of 12 means this is a failure.]

"You should have thought about that before you pulled a knife on my friend here," says Blacky, as he manhandles Will further down the alley with Guilliame close behind. 

They have now reached the fallen man, who seems to be stirring.

[It is now Guilliame's turn again and he can hear people approaching this end of the alley.]

"Let go of him Blacky. You two just run." 

If noone tries to attack then drop dagger and head back to man on the ground.

The two men freeze at Guilliame's words and then Will turns to look towards the sounds of approaching people.

Blacky lets go of Will, who then takes this opportunity to bolt past Guilliame down the alleyway [OOC: With a held action.]

After a quick look at the entrance to alley, Blacky starts to follow Will, grabbing Guilliame's arm on the way past and saying, "Quick, you've got to come too."

[OOC: It is now Guilliame's turn again.]

Shrug off Blacky. Let him go. 

If they go turn to approaching men and tell them "They ran that way."

When Guilliame shrugs Blacky off, the man looks undecided for a moment and then says, "I've gotta run. Don't tell anyone you saw me."

Then the villain turns and runs away up the alley.

[OOC: We are now out of combat.]

Guilliame moves past the man on the ground, who is groaning softly, and approaches the entrance to the alleyway.

He can see a few people in the farmer's market on the other side of the street taking some interest in what is happening, but most are going on about their business. Then, three men dressed in farmer's clothes and carrying cudgels turn the corner.

Guilliame turns and points down the alleyway and says urgently, "They ran that way."

The oldest of the men, says, "After them lads. Go and teach them a lesson."

The two younger men dutifully run off down the alley in the direction that Will and Blacky went.

"And who might you be?" says the older man, his gaze switching between Guilliame and the man lying on the ground.

[Guilliame has gained 100 XPs for successfully surviving this encounter and now has 1,120.]

"Just someone doing some shopping. Are you alright?"
