Sam arrives a little after midday and is ready to look after the shop.
Granny Naomi and Guilliame prepare for the trip to the Western End District, Granny is taking a large basket and asks Guilliame to bring his backpack.
[[Does Guilliame take anything else? The Western End District can be a rough part of town, but Guilliame knows that the guard would probably frown on his wearing his longsword.]]

AKA: Phillip Berrie: writer, editor and academic thrillseeker—a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
[OOC: Guilliame has a spell component pouch, which is easily carried on is belt. The backpack is empty and will be used to bring purchases home.]
Ask Naomi how much spending money is required. Take a little more but not much. Guilliame will have his pouch with money as stated.
[OOC: Naomi suggests a couple of Engles will be more than enough for what they will be able to carry.]
Leaving the shop in the hands of Sam, Guilliame and Granny Naomi head towards the bridge that crosses from the Scholar's Ward to the northern end of the Mercantile District [OOC: see the concept map of Inner Constantine on the home page of the world site; you should be able to click on it to make it larger]. After crossing the bridge, they make their way through one of the more affluent residential areas of Constantine to another bridge. Here, to the east, they can see Palace Island where Oran Maxwell Rafael III's palatial castle sits.
They cross the bridge into the Western End District and head further west passing by many of the lumber yards that handle the giant logs floated downriver from the massive forests that line the banks of the Lyr River. Once past these timber yards, they reach the area set aside for farmer's markets and wholesaler's warehouses. The farmer's markets are not the busy places that Guilliame is used to seeing first thing in the morning. Many of the farmers with fresh produce have already left, and the goods of those that are still there are showing some wilting after being out in the sun for a large part of the day.
However, this is not much of a concern for Granny Naomi and Guilliame because what they are mainly after are goods that have already been allowed to dry by the forest collectors and others who go searching in the wilds for plants and other medicinals to be used by the sage, mages and healers of the big city.
"See if you can find some fine animal fur—bat preferably—and some sulphur," says Granny Naomi to Guilliame. "I'll hunt out the Wytchwood and check out what Jartinal Weed is about. That supply we have won't suit everyone's tastes."
Then she adds, "I'll be needing one of them Engles, and I'll meet you at the Swillery in about a candle, okay?"

Guilliame looks around the collected stalls. It is not as busy and vibrant as the previous times he has been there, but that tended to be in the morning, when it was more crowded with people trying to find good bargains of fresh food and other produce.
Suddenly, Granny Naomi grips his arm.
"Guilliame," she says urgently. "I just saw someone get pulled into that alley over there."
Turning in the direction she is pointing, Guilliame looks beyond the collection of stalls to a row of nearby warehouses where hides and other non-perishable bulk items are stored. It is there that the only alley visible can be seen. However, there is no one in sight.
Had Granny imagined it?

Guilliame charges down the alleyway avoiding stepping on the fallen man. It would appear he has taken the two men by surprise as he is able to close to within 10' of them.
[OOC: Having moved, Guilliame still has an Action and any Bonus Action that he might to use. He also has 3 Hero Points. If you can't remember—or I haven't told you about—these, look up 'Hero Points' on the world site under the category 'Homebrew Rules'.
Attempt to grapple the nearest opponent in a way that gets them blocking the other (or at least limiting possible attack).
[As it is, Guilliame cannot grapple them as he has used all his normal movement and they are still 10' away. However, if you want to, I will let him use hisAction Surge(a once per short rest feature he has) to close and grapple one of the runners. Note that he could also cast a spell, or throw a weapon, which wouldn't use his Action Surge.]

[OOC: Unfortunately, no; not according to the current rules. In this case, it is the target who is rolling the die, and Hero points only add to die rolls, not subtract. Though let me think about it, as that is an intriguing idea.]
