Ireniana nods and has her swords drawn. "Let's do this."

The door opens into a twenty-foot-wide hall, the masonry walls of which are in poor repair. The far end has collapsed, filling the southern section with rubble. The western wall is in much better shape than the other walls, and it holds a stone door with a rearing dragon carved in relief on it. The door has a single keyhole, situated in the rearing dragon's open mouth.

Royan walks carefully into the room. With nothing obviously a threat, he makes his way toward the door. The dragon on the door does little to ease his mood, but it is the very thing that may have caught the attention of people coming to investigate the ruins. “It’s probably locked,” he says quietly to the others. Gently he tries to turn the handle, if there is one, without opening the door. 

The entire door looks like an elaborate stone relief of a white dragon. It's apparent that it's a door, but there is no handle - only the keyhole in the dragon's open mouth.

Upon seeing the door with only a keyhole in a dragon's mouth Kastix glances at Rhayna, remember the recent incident "I'm not putting my hand in there. If it's locked, my spell wouldn't force it open"  

Ireniana steps forward. "I'll stick my hand in the lock. I've taken some punishment today, a little more won't hurt me."

Ireniana places her hand in the dragon's mouth and searches for a switch or a chain to pull, something that might open a door. 

Investigation - 14

Rhayna will get close, but not too close to the door, and help Ireniana with her search.

"If we can't make it through there, we should hurry up and try the next room," Kastix slowly makes his way back through they doorway they can just in case. Nothing nice comes from dealing with anything dragon related. 

Even with Rhayna helping, nothing further can be found in or around the dragons mouth. 

Rhayna is miffed that they cannot figure out this door. She sits on the floor with her legs crossed and meditates some time. When she gets up. “Let’s try this...” She casts Detect Magic (ritual casting) on the dragon door.

Kastix peeks though the doorway from the circular room at the dragon door as they continue to investigate the dragon door "Can any of you pick the lock? If no, there is another door in here,"

Following Rhayna's meditation and ritual, she can perceive an aura of Abjuration magic surrounding the entire door. 

"It seems that someone did not desire that door to be opened. It seems to be  magically locked. Unfortunately I do not know how to pick a lock. Perhaps we should try the other door?"

Ireniana nods. "I think the other door would be a good idea."

“That’s fine. At least we know what is here. It is unlikely anyone else snuck through this way either.” Royan makes his way back through the circular room to the other door. 

"Can anyone produce a flame or fire in some way and touch it to the lock? Perhaps that will trigger it to open.  Or it would seem we must try the other door."  Kaylyn remarks while watching the others try to open the door. 

"Fine,. Move out of the way. Ignis!" Kastix casts fire bolt at the keyhole from the next room Attack: 9 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.

A searing bolt of flame flies across the room, slamming directly into the dragon's mouth and ... nothing happens. (Nice idea though - thumbs up)

The northern door that comes off the circular room opens into a 40-foot long, 10-foot wide corridor. A door can be seen at the far end of the corridor, as well as a door on either side about 10 feet from the end.

"I say we go straight" Kastix says but makes no movement forward. He will always say a direction but never will be one to lead being a little more durable than tissue.

“Friends. Go ahead, I should not take long.” Rhayna stays in the circular room. Sits down, legs crossed again, and meditates for another while. She gets up, hesitantly walks to the dragon door room, using her lighted pendant to light her way. Rhayna takes a deep breath then she touches the door. “Goddess, please grant me knowledge regarding this door.” She then casts Identify.
