"Agreed," says Cyrus. He then turns to his personal assistant and says, "Would you give us a moment please, Haneena?"
Haneena's face faulters for a fraction of a second before she says, "Of course, Archmagus." She then turns and walks away towards one of the rooms near the entrance.
Cyrus then leads Brand away a few steps and says in a lowered voice, "I probably know more about you than you know about me, but what I know about you tells me that you might be the best person to find out what has happened with Minton. You said you wanted to help, are you free to do so right now?"

"Yes, Archmagus," says Eddard before hurrying away.
He then turns back to Brand and asks, "Are you willing? It will involve you being involved in some ritual magick."

Although a larger mirror perhaps, or someone with keen eyes." He says holding up the small silvered one he carries.

"Wait," says Cyrus, holding up a hand. "We will go to my rooms. I have things to prepare as well, and I cannot do them here."
He then calls out to his personal assistant, saying, "Master Brand and I will be in my rooms, Haneena. Tell Eddard to bring the item he is fetching up when he returns."
Brand sees Haneena nod in reply as Cyrus Black begins to climb the stairs.
The Archmagus's rooms include most of the second floor of the building and Brand is led through some more conventional rooms to a room specially set up for the casting of magic. Here there is a large mirror set in an ornate silver frame, but it appears that Cyrus will be needing to use that mirror in his magic, so Brand is directed to a small table in the corner of the room where he finds another mirror which he can use for his disguise preparation.
[[Make a Deception check with proficiency for the use of the disguise kit.]]
As Brand is applying the disguise, he is aware that Cyrus is also making hurried preparations for some sort of magical ritual. This preparation is interrupted by the arrival of Eddard, who hands over to the Archmagus before being excluded from the room.

Sorry can you clarify what I should roll? Advantage and proficiency? Deception makes sense I guess, but it's a CHARISMA check(?), so that would be +4...can I do anything to get advantage as well...I thought mirrors did that....anything else? Or does the mirror give me a Perception check afterwards....

[[If Brand is specifically making himself look like Dalshar, then the DC is 10. Brand would get his proficiency bonus with his Disguise Kit and would use his Charisma bonus (because it is basically a Deception he is practicing and a disguise is a lot more than just appearance). However, if he just wants to look facially like someone other than Alaric Brand by using the pieces of the Dalshar disguise that he has with him, then the DC would just be 5 (i.e., to make sure that his moustache is going to stay on straight, etc.) The mirror would allow Brand to know that he had failed the roll, if he were to do so. Without the mirror, he could very well walk through the streets with a lopsided moustache, uneven makeup, etc. Given the situation, I cannot see any justification for Advantage in this case, because of the clothing Brand is wearing, but he does have sufficient time to do the disguise, so he is not at Disadvantage.]]

[[ Sorry, no, although that would have been interesting to try! I don't think he has a pre-made disguise to look like Dalshar...I meant look like he did when he used to work with Dalshar...ie. his old persona; so he's just using the kit as he used to do, if that makes sense. [[ Edit: my expectations ragarding mirror were based around this link:
The standard rule for someone helping in any skill check is that, if the referee agrees the person's help is useful, then one of the characters rolls for the skill check with advantage, and either character can make the roll using their bonuses. This matches your idea above, but gives me the say as to whether the other person's help is useful, which could be useful to me for a number of reasons. With regard to using a mirror to help with disguise, I would be thinking that would also give advantage on creating the disguise and possibly not worry about the Perception check. However, just looking like a person and being believed to be that person are two separate things. Deception and perhaps even Performance checks might be involved, if a character is trying to disguise themselves as someone else.

[[Sorry about the Dalshar misunderstanding. So, if Brand is trying to make himself look like Al XXXX from his previous experiences he would be rolling against a DC of 10 (i.e., disguising himself as a specific known individual). And you were right, making the actual disguise relies on his INT bonus (+ toll proficiency) and the mirror gives Advantage and will allow him to know if he fails. However, trying to make people believe he is Al XXXX is where the Deception comes in.]]
