Badger listens intently to Kasaaptu's retelling of her dreams. He ponders them for a minute, asking the occasional clarifying question and seeking details that may have been left out, before offering his interpretation.
The dreams are separate. The first one confirms his belief that Kasaaptu is destined for great things. Terrible, but great! The dream essentially means that the source of her dread power is unfathomable, and threatens to overpower her, but with the help of her friends she will overcome. However, there are some aspects of the dream that Badger has difficulty with. Clearly, the words on her skin represent personal power, and the green light in eyes represents possession by another, presumably the demon. It is equally clear that she will ultimately shake off the possession but retain the power. The part that makes it unclear is that the demon scooped her up with a goblet. This almost suggests that the demon was jealous of her possession. It could be that Kasaaptu becomes possessed by a different power, but that the demon (with help of friends) may actually be the means of her escaping that possession and retaining her power.
Second dream refers to the immediate mission. This may have actually been an epiphany of sorts, a direct message from a higher power, which most commonly follows a normal dream. The meaning of the message is cryptic - it may be symbolic, or it may be literal. If symbolic, the number 'nine' usually represents the universe, encompassing the four elements plus time, space, mind, soul and ether. These could be the nine 'gods', in which case the message could mean that the order of the universe is treatened but can be restored, which sounds like their quest. Alternatively, from what Badger has picked up in his observations of this culture, 'nine' is more a representation of Xibalba, the underworld, so the message could be 'nine times under', meaning they would either have to go underground nine times or underground nine levels. It could also refer to the lords of the Nine Hells of Baator. If the message was more literal, it could refer to nine actual gods, but Badger couldn't think of any groups of gods that came in nines.
(That's before Azaka mentioned the legend of the nine trickster gods)

(OOC: Badgers interpretation was very close to mine, but I figured the demon was a different demon then the one my Patron represents. The people, first as zombies were legit targets and then became criminals and then regular people and represents the fact she may have been willing to killed them all without discrimination in order to protect the mission and Sir Darak. That she would have crossed over the line into the realm of evil that she has to skirt. But, with the help of her righteous and wise friends, she can thwart the darkness and gain the freedom and power to defeat the demo. That seeks to capture her. Who that demon is isnt clear, but all she knows is it isnt the one in her line of patronage. A mystery to be solved someday when she reaches her peak of power...)

The group leaves Azaka, Gregory, Boris and Sedrik at the south gate with a bunch of their equipment and head back into the city, finding Tairo in the Grand Souk. On the way, Barty you spot some mini-saddle bags that would fit Indiana and purchase them. (4 gold).
You were given 20 days of food for Indiana, it weighs 3 pounds per day. Indiana can carry a maximum of an additional 100 pounds of gear.
Tairo looks at the six people plus a dog that have come his eyes wide. "This debt shall be easy to collect now! Come, follow me." He leads you back down south the way you've just come from and directly out the Tiryki gate into Tiryki Anchorage. You wave at Azaka as you pass by your group into a small alley between buildings. He leads you through the patchwork of buildings eventually arriving at a blue painted wooden door numbered "17". He knocks. A dark skinned man, wearing only a pair of shorts, and rippling with muscles, a body covered in scars from countless battles, opens the door. His red rimmed eyes look at Tairo. He then looks past him at the crowd of people in the alleyway. He frowns, clearly confused. "Tairo what is this?"
Tairo speaks confidently, "Taban! You owe me 500 gold for your lost bet on the runs yesterday. I've come to collect. These fine folk are here to ensure you pay up."
Sir Darak stands near the rear, frowning slightly. Sickle also stands near the back, looking less than pleased. Kasaaptu stands at the front meanwhile, her Yklwa in her hand, with a small smile on her face. A rather threatening smile.
Taban seems to realize his predicament and his shoulder bunch, his lip firms up in anger, "No Tairo. Those were not fair results. If the soldiers had not pulled those pins the man I'd bet on would have gotten away! He had one hand on the ledge and the guard stepped on it until he let go! No, not fair. I owe you nothing. That was botched, and all bets are off!"
Tairo's face curls into a snarl, "I don't make the rules. You bet, you lost, and now you owe me the money. Pay up or me and my friends will make you pay up!"

Kassaptu put her hand on Tairos shoulder, hoping to calm him a little and she speaks in a soft, creepily gentle voice to Taban. " Dear friend, the mighty Badger is correct, it was fate the lead to your man's failure to escape in time. Punishment by the Gods for your betting on human lives being wasted in that travesty of an event. It isnt Tairo's fault and as the honorable man I can tell that you are, you shall pay your debt to him. If you fault the guards for interfering, you should go to them and collect in turn, or perhaps when we complete our vital mission, we can get you an audience with the merchant Prince. We are here with an important woman and I am sure in her gratitude for our efforts, she will get you and audience."
She looks him directly in the eyes with an honest smile, hoping he sees reason so he doesnt be one bbq. A dead man pays no debts.
Taban's red rimmed eyes crinkle slightly at the edges, a grim smile edging to his mouth, "A little girl with a knife and a gnome with a bit of fire? Pffff. I've fought Dinosaurs children..." He cracks his knuckles. He glances past them, assessing Barty and his dog, Sickle, and Sir Darak. (Silas did not come) His eyes widening as he recognizes Sir Darak. "Sir Darak! Well now...this becomes more interesting....the one man I should have bet on. You know, I was just...." with an explosive and unexpected motion he lunges forward, his fist flying out and connecting with Tairo's chin, followed by a fierce kick that launches Tairo across the alley way past Kasaaptu and Badger and slamming into the wall where he crumples.
Taban has essentially won initiative and taken his first action. It's now everyone else's turn. No need to roll initiative, please take your actions.

Kasaaptu weaves dark magic, a spectral hand whisping out towards the muscle bound man who steps forward into the fray. He ducks aside from it and is flies wide. As he side steps that however, he takes the strike of two magical attacks that hit him square in the chest. The flame arrow and electrical orb fly from Badger, the ball striking with an explosive amount of energy, the smell of ozone and burned skin fill the alley. To everyone's surprise the warrior is still up and advancing, though he looks a bit jerky from the electricity coursing through him, and his chest is crackling from a bad burn. Sickel steps up and wacks him but he keeps moving. Kasaaptu being next closest he lays into her with his fists.
Fist Attack: 13 Damage: 11
Elbow Attack: 10 Damage: 10
Knee Attack: 23 Damage: 10
The fist flies wide, but the elbow strikes Kasaaptu in the temple and she goes down in a heap. His knee is aimed at the next in line, Badger, but the Mastiff gets in the way, taking the knee strike and yelping loudly in pain and tumbling to the pavement unconscious.
