While Badger is talking to Mal, Grenk leans down and presses a finger gently to the bottle. Sometimes when he does so, he can see into the objects past.
Using grim psychometry to try and gain knowledge about the item.
Visions flash suddenly and powerfully into Grenk's mind. He sees the creature that is inside the bottle, but it's outside and large, and the land around appears to be full of rocky canyons. Grenk sees a grim, undead creature with a skeletal hand holding the bottle, the other hand gripping a gruesome looking staff topped with a skull. The creature has unholy glowing eyes. A Lich. It weaves magic and you see the stone creature trying to weave its own but it's overpowered and sucked into the bottle with a 'fffmpph'. The vision ends.
Meanwhile, Badger hears the hollow tiny voice of the creature speak, "Very well you evil disgruntled greedy little creature! You wish to extract the greatest worth you can before you dole out any kindness to those that are trapped and enslaved. Fine, I know your soul then!! You shall get the gems....but I will also promise to send you and your allies anywhere they wish to go. Anywhere in this great grand universe." She pauses....a grim look on her face.....waiting to see if he quickly accepts, but when he doesn't she adds, "...AND...I will not cut off your head when I get out of this bottle."
"I don't know what you are saying," Grenk says to the creature. He stands up and scratches his head. "Well, it's some sort of rock creature, from a craggy rock canyon. And a lich put him in a bottle. Thats all i know."
A dao, to be specific, Badger wiz-splains to Grenk. And the lich is likely Acererak, unless he obtained the genie from another lich. Badger smiles again and says, The tactic seems to be working. The genie is now offering to transport us anywhere, as well as the treasure from before. However, I'd rather hold out for something that will better suit our immediate needs. He looks into the bottle once more and smiles while making an exaggerated servile bow.
The rock like grumble that reverberates from the glass bottle gives everyone a moment of pause, and for a second Badger wonders if he's pushed things too far. Then the dao speaks again, "Worm. I'll smash your head in with a maul before I bow to one such as you. But. I will give you three days worth of my ...service...." she spits the word out, "...for my freedom, in addition to what was previous offered. But there is nothing else I can offer. Take the deal, lest you have none of it....and instead you'll just be leaving behind a long lived powerful elemental with a grudge."

Badger's smile vanishes and he nods in agreement, hoping that this indicates that the negotiations are complete and that he accepts the terms and expects them to be adhered to. He quickly conveys this to his companions, and with their approval (or at least in the absence of any fierce objections) the little gnome grips the bottle hard and .... passes it to Grenk to remove the stopper.

Grenk holds up the bottle and says to the creature, "I still don't know what you're saying but you help us and you'll probably get some satisfaction out of it. We are here to end the treat in this temple and that is something that lich started. Don't you want to mess some of his shi* up before fleeing?"
Just as in all the old legends, smoke begins pouring from the bottle. Brownish red smoke bubbles out and then forms into a creature with brownish gas for a lower body, but very solid looking rocky arms and face, a large maul her her grip. She glares at Badger as if her gaze could end him....but it doesn't. Instead she shakes herself a bit, places the Maul against the wall, and raises her arms up and back in a massive stretch, while her body makes rocky grinding sounds. A sound which you assume is relief grumbles out of her throat as she does so, ending with a big exhale. Then she glances around at the party, and waves her arms a bit, casting a spell on herself and says....in a language which you're all able to understand now, though she's not speaking common.
"Well then. I'd thank you for my release, but since I'm paying for it with three days of servitude, plus powerful magic, plus giving up my precious gems....not to mention lacking the satisfaction of crushing the pathetic little gnome....I will not... and simply begin your payment. Do you wish me to transport you to some new mystical strange place? It must be on another plane of existence than where we are now, and I must know of it, those are the only limitation."
She gently pulls of two sapphire cords from around her neck, tossing them on the ground (worth 1250 gp each)....pulls two platinum armbands engraved with duelling dragons from her arms (worth 750 gp each), and plucks out her topaz belly-button gemstone, also tossing it to the ground (worth 500 gp).
Then she picks up her Maul. "Your 72 hours of servitude has begun. Of course there are certain proviso's....I will not willingly risk my life on your order, I will not under take any tasks I consider beneath my talents such as washing your dishes, nor tasks I consider distasteful, such as undertaking sexual acts or rubbing a gnomes feet....no matter how attractive you find me.." She flicks her dark black dusty looking hair over her shoulder. (she looks like a big rock creature so....?).
"Lead on master," she directs this to Grenk, "...as the one who released me I will prioritize your commands. Oh, also, I can only speak with you like this for an hour at a time, and only thrice each day."
you can hear Silas slap his face in frustration in the background.

Mal laughs at Badger when the creature talks and makes the slight alterations to the agreement, then she pushes herself off the wall and grabs the jewelry. "Grenk can you word a request to the creature to takes us to a key on a level we do not have yet?"
'The creature' looks at Mal, "You. Inferior being. I can hear and understand your words. What sort of key do you seek? What sort of level? I do not even know where I am."

Mal glares at the creature and then purposely turns her heads directing her words to Grenk, "Keep a handle on your new slave and be careful how you ask it to do your bidding." Then she will walk away continuing to ignore the creature and study the little passageway in the northern wall of the pentagram room.
If Grenk knew how to roll his eyes, he would have done so after Mal. "Right, let's catch you up to speed. We are in a maze of sorts created by that light that caught you. He's created something that sucks up the souls of the dead to someplace deep down here. We are here to end it. There are six levels and each level has a skeleton shaped key. We've got some but need all of them to get further. If you know a way to find them then that speeds things up. If ya don't, then I guess you're just going to follow for now."
He takes a step to leave stops and turns back. "What is your name? Also do you speak giant or infernal? Could use that if you can only speak common a few times a day."
She grimaces as Mal turns and walks away, but then playfully punches Grenk in the arm when Mal's not looking, "I like that one, but don't tell her. Oh, my name? What an interesting way to begin a relationship." She turns and glares at Badger. Then she turns back to Grenk, "My name is Keshma al-Wazir. And I believe the 'light' you're talking about is actually a 'lich', and that Lich was none other than Acerack himself. Planeswalking, schemeing, aspiring god himself. No lesser being could imprison Keshma al-Wazir! I speak only the true language of the multi-verse....Terran. These other languages shall all pass in time as the deep earth brings all back into it's loving grasp." She pauses poking around a bit with her smokey body and arms. "I should be able to move freely through these walls. Clearly Acerack has enchanted them in some way." She begins pressing her hands against the walls....and then tries to push into it. "It resists my attempts to create tunnels through it, or mold it in anyway. Irritating."
She turns back to Grenk, "Alright, you know this place, lead on then."
Mal walks over to the crawlspace in the northern end of the room. It slants downwards into the dark...and smells strongly of sweet tangy red wine.
Sickle stands off to one side. He is leaning casually against the wall. He seems to be playing with a blob of....ice...which moves like a bunch of slime, but is clearly hard like ice...and it is slipping and draining from one hand to another as he moves them up and down, pouring it from one hand into another and back again, paying little attention to their new ally. Frost steams away from the cold ice as it moves.
Grenk looks at him. It's been a while since he really looked at Sickle. A thin blue veil of frost seems to cover his friends eyes, though doesn't appear to interfere with his ability to see.
Badger is a little miffed that the genie is taking orders from Grenk instead of him, especially with the goliath in his current unpredictable and reckless state. Of course Badger could forsee the potential risks of opening it himself, but that doesn't mean they always eventuate. Divination is a tricky business, otherwise anyone could do it. Instead he would have to keep a close eye on the situation...

Keshma looks at Silas, then puts a hand on Grenk's shoulder and slowly edges closer to Grenk...not taking her eyes off of the priest. Out of the side of the mouth she says at full volume, "Is he simple? I just said Acerack, and now he's asking if it has meaning for me." She pats Grenk on the shoulder and looks at him with fake pity, "I'm sorry you've found yourself stranded in a place like this with these people."
She turns back to Silas and in an overly loud voice says, "ACERACK BAD. KILL ACERACK...YOU CAN NOT. YOU WOULD JUST DIE. YOU LIKE BUG. HE LIKE BIG BOOT." She turns back to Grenk, nodding to him, and adds, "There, that should settle that. Though, I have to admit, no idea what a Soul Monger is. Sounds right up Acerack's alley though."
Mal rolls a torch down the passage. It's not slanted very much...so the torch just sorta slowly rolls down a ways until it reaches near the bottom. Some sort of dark liquid fills it. The crawlway may continue, but it's submerged beneath a layer of red liquid. The torch goes out once it rolls into the wine.
