Yroc freezes in his tracks when Sickle calls out the spiders. A chill runs up his spine as his eyes make out several of the creatures, the multitude of eyes all focused on the group. With an Orcish curse he throws his arm forward to unleash a blast of black-purple energy at the nearest of the bigger creatures, his hand already moving towards the sword at his side to defend himself if necessary.

Mechanics:

Badger grips his pouches as he sees the webs and spiders crawling above. When the enormous spiders burst out of the brush, he rapidly waves his hands in front of his chest in a tight circle and incants a spell ...

Leather, metal, plate, or mail; magic defend where others fail!

Initiative: 12. Action: cast Mage Armor

Sir Darak Darkhall: Arachnids descending from the trees all around him, the Knight remains calms as he examines the spiders. Having experience with similar creatures while serving as a Deep Warden in the Underdark, Darak shouts, "Stay together and beware their webs and poison!"

Positioning himself ready to engage the nearest spider, the Paladin raises his Shield as he says a prayer to Tyr for protection and strength against his enemies. To Darak's surprise, something else answers his prayer as well.

Bonus Action - Hexblade’s Curse  - Target: Nearest Spider

Sickle sees the spiders getting ready to drop, and instinctively, the power of the Ancients courses through him, and he feels himself being transformed into a creature very much like the ones that are dropping on his head, a Giant Wolf Spider.

He will move to try to engage one of the spiders in the tree if he can reach it before it drops.

(nobody will know if you can, because you didn't roll initiative!  lol.  here, i'll roll for you:  14 ) 

A flame like blast of flame rips down onto one of the large spiders, catching some web, lighting it afire and sending small spiders scattering in different directions.  (Dex save :  12 ). 

Sickle's body shimmers and morphs into that of a wolf spider, smaller than these giant attacking spiders, but big and very hairy all the same.  Boris who is near him shouts in fear, "They're transforming us into spiders!!!" He screams and leaps out of the line, running into the jungle.  Sedrik reaches for him, "No!  Boris, he's a druid!!"  but Boris isn't listening and leaps and jumps, pulling away from sticky webs all around him.  

Yroc releases a blast of dark energy that flies past a spider, ripping into leaves and web behind it.  Dark energy seems to swell around the spider all the same.  His sword is drawn with a deadly sounding "shhhnkkk". 

Sir Darak, dead calm amongst the chaos, says a prayer to Tyr, and then glares at another of the spiders, a dark shadow seemingly passing across the creature. Meanwhile, Darak Sickle and Silas all seem to glow with early beauty for a brief moment. 

Badger summons his magical energy to him, encasing himself in it's protection. 

Then the spiders attack.  A shot of webbing sprays out from one of the spiders as it dangles above you, spraying all over poor unlucky Hammu. (Web attack: 23 )  Another one drops onto the small vulnerable looking Gnome, using it's venom dripping mandibles to try and bit the gnome : 7 Damage: 9.  The last one swings away, seeing it's potential lunch fleeing into the jungle, dropping onto Boris who is 45 feet away, and tries to bite him. 21 Damage: 9

Hammu is covered in sticky webs, as it bleats in fear, struggling against the webbing that covers one side of his body.  The gnome, small and agile ducks away as the giant mandibles clack and grab only air.  Finally, Boris (I screwed up the attack roll for Boris, but that's why it shows manipulated rolls, but it's fixed).... is grabbed in the leg.  He screeches in terror as the spiders mandibles sink deeply into him.  His body goes rigid flopping back and forth as foam is spit from his mouth. 

Everyone, except Yroc, take your next actions (Yroc's first action came after the spiders, so he's 'already gone').  One spider dangles above, is cursed by Yroc, and can only be hit by ranged attacks.  One spider is on the ground next to Badger, is cursed by Sir Darak, and fare game for melee attacks.  The third spider is 45 feet to one side of the group, standing over a poisoned, unmoving and badly injured Boris. 

Azaka release an arrow towards the dangling spider.  Attack: 15 Damage: 10

Also, the DM can't count to 4 apparently.  A last spider emerges from the leaves and, dangling, fires a web at Azaka. 14

Azaka is entangled in webs, her bow and arrows all wound up against her (after loosing her first arrow).  She growls in fury as she struggles against the webs.

OK, everyone except Yroc can take their 2nd action now. (Yroc's first action just resolved after the spiders went).  Kasaaptu, you can take 2 actions if you get back to us in time. 

Silas will try to get close to the third spider near Boris and cast Sacred Flame on the third spider, nearest spider if that #3is out of range and cast Healing Word on Boris as his bonus action. 

Dex Save: 12

Damage: 5 radiant damege to spider.

Healing Word: 5 to Boris.

Spider Sickle clambers up tree and web, traversing it with ease, to bite at a spider in the tree.

Sir Darak Darkhall: Shaking his head at Boris' lack of discipline, Darak turns to assist Badger. Moving to stand at the Wizard's left side, he says, "I'll distract it while you get back!" Raising Onyx high over his head, the Paladin calls upon Tyr once more as he brings the blade crashing down upon the cursed spider.

Action - Attack: 15 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.

Divine Smite - Damage: +9 (Radiant)

Bonus Action - Shield Master Shove(5ft) - Athletics: 13

Movement - Remainder of Speed toward Boris

Badger casts Chromatic Orb at the spider in his face.

Round 2. Attack: 23. Damage: 12 acid.

(Please use my portent roll of 7 as the attack roll on the next spider attack on Badger)

(Edit: actually, if Darak just killed my spider and there's none else attacking Badger, then just use it on the next spider to attack anyone)

Silas leaps over a log and gets close to Boris, extending his hand and releasing his holy energy.  A blast of flame flashes down at the spider (Dex save: 8 )  In that same instant he speaks a single word and extends a hand towards Boris.  The bloody wound on Boris' leg ceases to gurgle blood as the wound partially heals, but Boris remains rigid and unmoving anyway. 

Kasaaptu releases three rays of energy that lance out towards different spiders. The first two are struck, screeching in pain as the heat hits them. The third ray hits a part of the spiders thick chitinous hide but seems to have little effect. 

The wolf spider clambers up a tree with ease, leaping onto one of the dangling spiders, biting deep into it's back.  It screeches, betrayed and surprised by it's own kind. (Poison save: 21 )  

Sir Darak leaps to Badger's side, his black blade whistling through the air, it's midnight steel surrounded by a corona of holy energy as his strikes the spider.  The creature shrieks in pain and agony, but Sir Darak slams the creature aside with his shield (9.   Finally he takes a few leaping bounds towards Boris. 

The spider near badger is knocked onto it's back, but all of it's legs are still thrashing about and it looks angry so Badger releases his magical spell, a green ball flying from his hand and spraying across the giant spider which suddenly halts it's thrashing as it's body smokes and sizzles.  It's legs spastically curl up in towards it's body as it dies. 

The spider being bitten and attacked by Sickle, pulls itself away and clambers up 30 feet into the tree cover above.  (Disengage + move)

Azaka pulls and tears at the webbing around her trying to escape. (22 ).  The spider hanging above her drops onto the guide and tries to bite her in the arm.  Attack: 15 Damage: 10. 

Finally the one near Boris grabs Boris by an arm and scuttles away as fast as it can into the woods, dragging him across the forest floor.  (Free action pick up something, Dash plus Move) Note, the area this spider moves into is more heavily wound with webs, and counts as difficult terrain (except for Sickle, spider man extraordinaire). 

Everyone (including Yroc, but except Kasaaptu) can take their next action. 

The spider bites hard into Azaka's leg but even as she fails to escape the web, she just growls in kicks at the spider whose bite is unable to injure her. 

Sickle will let the spider retreat into the canopy and try to move back down to go after the one taking Boris.
