Fingolin takes one of the pins, too, thinking it might become useful if he needed to deceive Kolyyt's soldiers.
While they wait for Arell, he asks Elyse: "Where does Cembessa's power come from, do you know? Does it originate from the Sundering, or was she always like this?"
Fouder looks over the soldiers, taking note of their belongings, but decides there is nothing he wishes to take for himself. It would feel insincere to even take possession of one of the gauntlet pins, as though he was accepting the new world order, and he's not ready to do that just yet.
He looks across to Elyse. "That sounds like our best option," he returns. "Do you know the approximate area of the entrance to the tunnel? I'm sure one of my companions would be able to detect the magic concealing it. Perhaps we could then find our way in."
Elyse whispers back to Fingolin (loud enough for the group to hear but not give away your position) “Some say she was one of the angels that fell, others think she is Nature personified once the sundering occurred to bring balance back to the world. I don’t know where her power comes from, but she uses it for a true purpose. I have seen her perform miracles, she is mighty.”
Arell can barely breathe for the stab of panic that just shot through his system. If Kolytt himself was hunting for the egg, this expedition just got a whole lot more dangerous. In an effort to think fast, he draws upon the power of the Fae Lord to conjure up a cloth overhang above his head, shielding him from view while letting him openly gesture at the rest of the group to get into cover, indicating the danger looming in the skies above. He desperately wants to rejoin the group to come up with a plan, but for the moment he does not see a way of getting to them unnoticed.
Mechanics:
Using my other Eldritch Invocation (I made some really good choices, haha) to cast Silent Image to create a cloth overhang, big enough to hide me from view from above. Spell DC is 14, should anyone decide to investigate.
Not sure if/what I should roll to make it clear to the group that they should get under some cover..
Following up to Fouder’s wuestion. Elyse replies “I know where the tunnel is, it’s next to where the mage’s tower fell. There isn’t any magic that covers the tunnel, just in the forest after the tunnels.”
Arell heart pounding in his chest, sweat cascading down his brow holds his breath in anticipation. Wondering if he is spotted. The moment feels as decades as he watches a large shadow cover the ground and continue out of sight. Knowing his party is under cover a block a way, it seems Kolyyt hasn’t noticed him and has continued his flight.
"I misunderstood you, then," Fouder returns. "Either way, it sounds like the best way for us to escape while keeping that egg safe." He looks around the area. "Which way? And where is Arell?"
Arell breathes a sigh of relief upon seeing the critter making his way over to him. Awkwardly, not knowing if his words would come across, he explains the situation to the tiny animal. "I think he has moved past us, but we should keep a close watch on the skies. But for now it seems the coast is clear, head on up here."
Tennezaz will stay over to the party with his weapons at the ready, nodding as he sees the weasel goes ahead. "We should keep a look out for enemies or if we are fortunate allies of our new aquaintances._
Fingolin, hearing Arell's explanation, tells the party: "Arell says it's clear, but we should keep watch on the sky. I think Kolyyt is looking for us himself. Let's rejoin with him."
Fouder nods. "Let's stick to the sides of the alleys," he suggests. "That might grant us a little cover. Shall we carry on to the mage's tower and try to get out of this city?"
Solomon grunts in approval. "The quicker we see this egg to its destination, the better for all of us, I think." He begins closing the distance between himself and Arell, occasionally glancing upwards.
(Sorry guys went to Legoland yesterday and worked today, trying to find the energy to do anything)
Through Ekkwie’s ensuring the coast is clear and Arell giving the all clear. You travel from alley to alley, alternating who takes lead to always be keeping an eye out. First person takes watch and waves others on to the next spot. You find yourself turning and twisting down the streets by Elyse’s instructions. Reginald is stomping around as it’s difficult to be sneaky and carry a giant egg. The sounds of marching feet have slowly echoed away the further you get north. Elyse points out a large pile of rubble In the distance. Just to the right of there, an old shop has a basement. When the Sundering happened something landed and took out a chunk of earth. Then the towers fell, making a new entrance into some tunnel system. Elyse sticks her head around the corner to ensure the cost is clear until she ducks back in. Her face - terrified. Panting frantically as she beckons everyone to hide. A large shadow coasts by as Kolyyt continues his search. Appearing to by circling the area.
You have about 200 feet (two open areas without cover for 50 feet each. So open area, alley, open area, building). The Angelic form angrily lapping the area as he scours grounds for any sign of presumably the egg. How do you get across without being seen.
Arell:
You recognize the shop the tower fell into, it is your old jewelry shop half caved in on the left side. Door still intact to inside.
"My shop! I have not been back there since the Sundering, and I had to leave in a hurry. Perhaps we'll find something useful there, if the place isn't looted yet. There were plenty of gems in storage, and a few pearls. Mages used to covet those, I had at least five laying around the shop at the time."
He looks longingly at his old place, his heart wrenching with memories that seem like so long ago, but also re-living the terror he had felt when he had to flee his home, his pride and joy. Everything he had achieved, his hard work and dedication, was now a crumbling ruin, barely recognizable even to himself. The cozy little bakery to the left of his shop was completely collapsed, crushed by the tower and parts of his own shop crumbling outwards. He could still smell the wafts of freshly baked bread and pastries that drifted into his shop in the early mornings, although by now the only smell that carried there likely was the same musky smell of dust and decay that covered the rest of the city.
He has to fight the instinct to simply run across the squares, which were once bustling with life, people going about their business. Instead he ducks for cover once more to hide from the terror swooping the skies above.
"I can hide us from sight with an illusion, but my mind falters on ideas. A rolling cart could work, but does not really make sense, does it? It might even attract attention, rather than keeping us from sight as we run across."
"I hope we live long enough for you to tell us more about that life you left behind, Arell. In the meantime, I think I have a plan, but it requires our new friends to trust us.", he says nodding towards Elyse, and loud enough for her to hear.
"This would require your knowledge of the shadows, Tenezzaz. I believe Kolyyt won't pay much mind to a lonely tiefling skulking about. Can you make it safely to the other side on your own?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"It should not be much of a problem I believe. Let us simply hope that he does not suddenly decide to smite me down..." The rogue says as he moves towards the end of the alley, pulling his cloak around himself to hide his weapons. With one last look at them he moves out.
"Wait, wait..."Pan says as Tenezzaz makes to leave, "You will be taking the egg with you... in this." He puts the Handy Haversack down and eyes Elyse. "The rest of us will follow in two groups, a few minutes apart as to not raise suspicion. If Kotyyl received the latest from the fleeing soldiers, he would be looking for a large group. The egg would be safe, and we will have better chances of crossing safely. This is my plan, Elyse. I hope we've proven worthy of your trust."

"Very wise, Fingolin," Fouder comments. "That should help us get across without drawing too much attention to ourselves. I'm happy to head over towards the end, in case I draw attention with my armour."
Solomon, conscious of his own armor, nods and stands aside to let the others go first. "Elyse, you and you companions should not linger, Tennezaz will need to be shown the way, so you should proceed after him. Do not wait, for if Kolyyt sees any one of us, the egg must be gone from here."
Elyse agrees as she gathers her people and plan to run across when told. Elyse tells Reginald to hand the egg over to Tennanaz with the handy haversack. The large 3 foot egg is quite cumbersome to get into the bag. Taking out the clothes and others goods into the other pouches. The top of the egg still pokes out of the top. There is a flap that can cover it , but the egg won’t be magically concealed.
(Sorry guys that egg is just barely too big to fit in the haversack, by about 1 cubic foot - do we still go on with the plan? Which is as I understand it. Tennanaz goes first, followed by the other group, then the party?)

Ekkiwe appears and leaves cover, heading over towards where Arell is.
