(Plaugg is happily following the group and continuing to make mental notes of the city and it merchants as they travel. City hall sounds good to him if that's where we're headed)
Seeing that everyone seems to be prepared to leave, Gerrack leads the group out towards the City Hall, which he had visited once before while trying to collect funds for the poor in the name of Ilmater's Temple.
Our compliments all around Elsa, thank you, see you guys for supper...

Elsa: (to Edmond) "Why thank you. A generous tip. See you this evening." (OOC: do not forget to have your mid-day meal/lunch)
The party using both Gniff's directions and Gerrack's knowledge the party makes their way over to city hall.
(OOC: date July 24th. time 9:10 a.m.)
Once the party arrived at their destination they can see the building itself is quite crowded with people waiting to get into the front doors. two city guard stand next to the entrance. one on each side. the sound of people talking (angrily) can be heard from near the entrance.
(OOC: @ everyone, what does everyone do? [suggested options: wait in line, inquire what the deal with the crowd is, or push your way to get inside])
"A-at least you m-might determine why there is s-such a long l-line h-here," Gerrack says with confusion, eyeing the buzzing crowd with a bit of nervousness.
Gimble just people watches. Crowds are a good place to learn information and also a good place for pick pockets. He keeps his gold close while watching and listening.

“Hey guys look, a squirrel. I think I have an idea for another clockwork device.”
Gniff marvels at the capacity of people, looking around and even futilely going up on his toes to see over people. "Wow, look at all these people! Why are there so many people? This is amazing, is this normal," he asks no one on particular. Seeing the guards along to sides he fearlessly attempts to cut through to them. His faith in local guards giving information very high.
"Good morning sir! Wow, what is going on here," he asks the one guard he may be able to approach.

city guard: (to Gniff) "Due to the number of problems around the capital, plenty of people of things to complain about. So here they are going to the Steward to complain about their problems. Most days are like this. Merchants and craftsmen complaining about suppliers not making it to the city, Refugees from the northern towns fleeing orc raiders. I'm not sure but i think there has been a few farmers complaining about the centuar tribes, No shortage of problems here in Emberhorn. Thankfully thats all above my pay grade as a guardsman. I heard a member of the Crown's Guardians was suppose to look into the problems around the city, but clearly nothings come of that."
Misty walks up to the closest person, guard or person in line.
"What's up here, why so many people in line to get into the city hall?"
person in line: (to Misty) "I haven't gotten any supplies in over a week. how am i suppose to sell wares when i don't have what my customers want? The Steward is gonna hear about it. The Kingdom is suppose to protect and take care of its people. I imagine every else is here to complain about the same sort of thing."
the group approaches the hall, Gniff starts chatting with one of the guards, Misty starts chatting with someone in line, Edmond goes off to look for a cart and is out of eye sight from the group (due to he crowded streets of people going about their business.) Gimble gets close to the line and tries to over hear conversations but can't make anything out. gerrack, branch, and plaugg hanging behind Gimble.
(OOC: @ everyone, what does everyone do? [DM's comment if everyone wants to wait in line i'll advance the story until you guys get inside.])

Misty pulls back and tries to gather the others back together. "Do we want to wait, push our way inside, or go somewhere else?" She asks. "If it is like this every day I doubt we will find any better time to wait it out, if that is what we want to do."
Gimble sees Misty grouping the others and leaves the line. “I think either the line approach or somehow sending word to Sildar. It may be easy enough to get a guards attention if we worm to the front.”
Dang, I should have grabbed lunch at the Inn when I had the chance. this is going to be one of those days...
(OOC: go ahead give me another perception check and give me an investigation check with it too. [DM's comment, everyone except Gniff ate breakfast around 7:00 a.m. so it is a tad soon, but if you really want you can have your lunch this early.])
(OOC: @ everyone, it seems like the party wants to wait in line, if that is not the case let me know or i will likely advance the story to the party is in side the building.)

The arrival of a random squirrel seems to be no large consequence to the halfling as he is speaking to the guard. He unconsciously reaches up and scratches the squirrel as he listens, "Thank you so much for your help sir. I came to report that I and my friends just cleared the roads of a clan of Goblins. We will hop in line and wait out turn to let the Steward know of the good news."
With a smile and a small wave he steps back through the crowd to rejoin his fellows, relating his conversation to Misty and the others.
