Hati furrows his brows, knowing he doesn't have enough, "Can you lower the price?" He also contemplated just killing the bird and taking the items, but he recalled his companions chewing him out the last time he tried killing a shopkeep....
Finnian looks to Misty and says, "I might stick around a little longer and wet my whistle, but if you're wandering some more, could you do me a favor?" He leans in a little closer, and speaks more quietly, trying to limit any eavesdropping. "Keep your eyes and ears open for any news on the Redbrand Bandits, and see if you can't find someplace called Thorston's Shop and Exchange. I'll share more when we have the whole party together again, but I think we may have an opportunity if the wind is with us."
Having said his piece, Finnian pays for a mug of good ale and heads towards Lanar. "Ah, sorry for interrupting, but I couldn't help but overhear something about orcs on the Triboar Trail! I've got a buddy of mine heading that way soon, and I don't want him getting caught off guard."
(OCC: if you bought something make sure to take off the appropriate gold amount)
Elmar Barthen: (to Rilvar) "That will be 10 gold for 10 rations and a healers kit."
After the transaction Rilvar leaves and heads to the Sleeping Giant Tap House.
Elmar Barthen takes the three gold pieces from Korhil and hands Korhil his rations.
(OOC: is Korhil going with Rilvar to the Sleeping Giant Tap House or is he going to the Stonehill Inn where most of his party is at?)
Gimble, Misty, and Finnian section:
(OOC: if you rented a room make sure to take off the appropriate gold amount)
Gimble does not see anyone playing cards. Gimble does over hear a few things while chatting with Toblen. (OOC: read the spoiler)
Put your spoiler here. Narth: (to the person he is talking to) "I heard Sister Garaele, that elf cleric who works at the Shrine of Luck, recently left the city for a few days. A bit strange no? Considering everything going on around here.” Narth's Friend: (to Narth) "Thats not that strange is it?" Elsa: (to one of the patrons) "I heard that Daran Edermath, the orchard keeper, is a former adventurer. Maybe they should get him to go deal with the goblins or the bandits." Lanar: (to his buddy) "Orcs have been raiding the towns north of the city, the ones in and around the Triboar Trail. I actually heard the steward is looking to hire someone to go deal with them. Who would be foolish enough to go deal with some Orc Raiders?"
Toblen Stonehill: (to Gimble) "Couldn't say for sure why the bandits started getting worse. Perhaps its cause they know how little we are protected outside the city walls. The Great War is why there isn't much infrastructure outside the major cities. The Peace Treaty hurt our kingdom more so than the others. The knights of the kingdom are too few. Supposedly there should be a member of the Crown's guardians handling the situation, but i haven't heard anything about it. For sure most merchants and business here in the city aren't doing too well. If suppliers are getting hit people start to run out of things to sell.... So, can i help you with anything other than chatter?"
Misty goes over to the bar where Gimble and Toblen are chatting.
Toblen Stonehill: (to Misty) "A weapon shop, well there's the Lionshield Coster, for sure quality items there. There is also Orccheck's Removals, it doesn't look pretty but Grumm has never screwed me over. (OOC: he also tells you the directions for both locations) You could always ask one of the many smiths in town, i don't have specific one in mind but im sure they would love the business given the current situation. As for the general goods store, Barthen’s Provisions is where you should go.

Toblen Stonehill: (to Gimble) "So, can i help you with anything other than chatter?"
Gimble smiles and replies, “No, you’ve been most helpful and most informative. I appreciate your help. I think I’ll venture to the shops with my friend here”, (tilts his head towards Misty).
On the way out with Misty, Gimble says to her, I know that we have already been offered a job by that Greg character, but just by overhearing a few things I think we may be able to make some decent gold here. I was already planning on going into cave where I met you all. But if someone is going to pay me, um, I mean us, to do it, well then we should seriously consider that as an option. On a side note, thanks for helpin’ me get to the Inn. Now that I have seemed to clear the dust out of my eyes, it will be good to really take in all this city has to offer. Ladies first,” and Gimble gives a slight bow and holds his hand forward as if to let her pass.

(OOC: roll was to look for more Thieves Can’t sign/marks if it wasn’t obvious sorry)
Misty nods to Finnian and then heads out. She would shop around, seeing if she could find any deals on rapiers, and using her short sword as a trade item. (Let me know how much it costs with the trade in of the short sword.)
While walking between shops and smithies, she will keep her eye open for the shop Finnian mentioned. She is not asking questions about what is going on in town, but paying attention to what is being said around her as she goes. (Passive perception is 11)
At the general store she would want to purchase 10 days of rations.
Rilvar enters the Sleeping Giant Tap House. It is located in a dark alley in a bad part of the city. when you enter every stops what they are doing to look at you, but then goes back to your business. You look around the Tap House and you find who you are looking for. A man sitting by himself in a dark corner of the establishment. You sit at the same table as him.
Mr. Chin: (to Rilvar) "Your back. I expect good news?"
(OOC: i'm still waiting to hear if Korhil was going with Rilvar to the Sleeping Giant Tap House or if he was heading to the Stonehill Inn.)
Finnian section:
Lanar laughs at Finnian. Lanar: (to Finnian) "Then i hope your friend has a good head on his shoulders. Anyone heading north of the city better be careful. Goblins and Bandits are one thing, but those Orcs don't mess around. Tell your 'friend' its not a good idea to go up north." he says still sorta laughing. He then returns talking to his friend.
Gimble and Misty section:
(OCC: if you bought something make sure to take off the appropriate gold amount)
(OOC: Gimble, you do see a few a few signs in thieves cant as you are walking the streets with Misty.) (OOC: read the spoiler)
One sign you see is, Sleeping Giant Tap House is safe. Another message you see is, don't mess with the Red Brand Bandits. A third message is, city is watched too closely, steal from people on the road or in the towns.
Misty, a rapier would cost you 20 gp with trading in a shortsword. (OOC: if you want to try to get a better price you will have to try interacting with an NPC, a persuasion check or what have you, if you are really interested in that, let me know which location you wanted to try that at, the Lionshield Coster, Orccheck's Removals, or some blacksmith)

Gimble walks up to the counter next to Misty. He asks, “Or is there any chance for a deal to be had if we make some trades and purchases together? I know I would love to grab a Hand Crossbow from ya today if possible.”
Rilvar will take a seat, “News, found the goblins as promised, and slew some, but more remain. Its possible I could round some people up to remove them, but it will cost extra.” And he’ll lay out where and what he found.
The crossbow and 20 bolts would be splendid :) Possibly four healing potions too? Is there trouble elsewhere, too? I am very interested in hearing more...
Mr. Chin leans back in his seat a bit, not enough to tilt the chair but he is in a more relaxed position. Mr. Chin: (to Rilvar) "Extra?" he lets out a little laugh. "Did i give you the impression that you are in charge? The job was to find and eliminate. You found and killed some. Which is good, and you'll be paid for it. Do not think a job well done gives you the ability to tell me what to do." Mr. Chin digs around in one of his pockets and grabs a pouch. he tosses it at Rilvar. (OOC: just for fun give me a dexterity check.) [i'll edit or say in the next post if you caught the pouch.] the pouch contains fourteen gold pieces. "I'll give YOU double if you wipe out this cave. if you want to hire people, thats your business. I don't care and i don't want to know. You do this right, i'll forget this exchange, and maybe i'll have a new job for you." ... "Tell anyone about me, or bring one of these people here to meet with me and you'll regret it." Mr. Chin then slams a dagger into the table. It gets in deep to the point where its stuck in the wood. Mr. Chin gets up from the table and talks with the Dwarf bartender. Mr. Chin passes the table as he is leaving. "I'm going to be out of the city for a while, if you need me tell Grista, and she'll tell you if im available or not." He says as he walks passed you.

Do we have a deal?" (OOC: incase that is worded weirdly, Misty gets the rapier and Gimble gets the hand crossbow. not you both get two items.)
