@ Gerrack and Gimble, both of you trying to hear if anything is on the other side, it is silent. Gimble does the secret trick to open the secret door, and it is a stair case, on your left it leads outside the base, and on the right it leads to a dead end, Gimble does figure that there might be another secret door there.
"Wait!" says Casmir urgently to the group. "Someone is coming, and they don't sound very happy"
He moves to the door leading to the corridor - if it is still open he closes it - and holds it closed.
@ Casmir, you race over to the previous rooms door, and you can see bandits with weapon drawn heading your way. You manage to close the door and press your back against it preventing it from being opened or smashed in. (OOC: give me a strength check)

Gerrack hides behind the bed, ready to attack if something bursts in, but also ready to flee if the tunnel looks promising.

He will reward anyone who brings back proof of their destruction [reward: 100 gold from Harbin Wester the Princess' Steward] 4/secondary quest: The Emberhorn Kingdom is struggling to negotiate with centuar tribes across the kingdom over land disputes. Convince the Princess or her steward to participate in the negotiations. [reward: ???] 5/side quest: Try joining the Fists of Justice Adventuring Guild [reward: Fists of Justice membership] 6/side quest: Investigate Thornton's Shop and Exchange [reward: ???] 7/side quest: Investigate Sister Garaele [reward: ???] 8/side quest: Bring the lionshield coster's crates to the lionshield coster shop. this quest has grown increasingly difficult due to the party's poor reputation. [reward: 50 gold per crate] Alternative: tell other interested people about the lionshield coster crates location. Alternative 2: Investigate Linene Graywind for possible Red Brand Bandit connection. Though Gerrack would keep his eye trained on the door, he is more than willing to follow the party if they flee the room. "I-it might be v-very c-lose quarters f-fighting in the s-secret p-passage though, if we a-aren't q-quick," he whisper-warns everyone from his hiding spot.
"Think we are going to have to fight here." Misty says, drawing her rapier. She glances to the group. "As soon as that door is released those bandits will be in here, and I doubt if we can all get away cleanly." She squares her shoulders. "Let us take care of this here and now..."
(OOC: OMG, an Athletics fumble! So much for holding the door...)

As far as he can tell, he can't figure out how Gimble even knew it was a secret door, and backs away in confusion.
“Hey guys,” Gimble whispers, waving the group back to him. “Um, secret panel....shall we try this approach?”
"Just as well take a look." Misty says, stepping into the room and over to stand near the secret door.
