zzzzzZZZZzzzzzork! I'm awake! Fight! Edmond looks around. What? o! That was last night? o yeah.
<voice of sergeant in his head - calm and unruffled on surface....> Edmond takes a deep breath
We ought to also figure out a way to keep the bad guys at a distance while we sleep. We all got in solid whacks at the enemy, - especially you, Hati that was good shooting - yet 5 of us were seriously injured. We live and learn, or we don't live long.
My thought on the Goblins is that we find whether or not they have other entrances, and then plug them up. That stream will be their water supply. Plugging the stream whether it is entering or leaving the cave will mess those foul Goblins up real good.
Finnian is fiddling with his pipe when Gerrack shows him the letter. The sailor-turned-wizard shrugs and just says, "Aye, so it seems. Got to wonder who it is... question for later, methinks."
He nods at Gimble's suggestion. "Sounds plenty reasonable to me, might just be wise to have someone scout ahead. Mayhap two winged someones." He waggles his brows at Hati and Gerrack.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gerrack replies, "I-I will do my best when we arrive there. I-I should scout ahead no matter our decision as we t-t-travel." He gathers his things together, readies himself, and takes to the air, but only after he's certain everyone else has finished addressing him.
Stealth w/ disadvantage: 16
Perception: 22
Also, Gerrack just keeps his eye out for any small game to hunt for food while he's up there:
Gimble stands and dusts himself off. "Ok, well if we are moving on, I'll stay at the front if anyone wants to tag along."
Perception 20
(OOC: Gimble will keep an eye out for any perceived threat, but he will also keep an eye out for any potential thieves cant leading to any hides or drop locations)
"I'm never goin' to live this one down, am I?" Finnian sighs as he matches Misty's pace, his spellbook open in his hands. In spite of the sailor's attempted studying, he can't help but reminisce about a pair of vibrant blue eyes framed by auburn locks...
He shakes himself and shuts the book, holding it in one hand as he wraps the other around Misty's shoulders. Probably best to put such things out of mind for now, he thinks. Goblins, Redbrands, and who knows what else should more than keep a foolish former sailor busy.
"The day I lack a good shanty to share is the day ye'll know the end times're upon us!" With a good-natured smirk and a twinkle in his eye, Finnian takes a deep breath and obliges Misty's request.
"Now we are ready to sail for the horn weigh hey, roll and go! Our boots and our clothes, boys, are all in the pawn To be rollicking Randy Dandy-O!
Heave a pawl, o heave away weigh hey, roll and go! The anchor's on board and the cable's all stored To be rollicking Randy Dandy-O!"
the party completes its morning activities (getting dressed, having breakfast, etc) and begins their adventure for the day.
(OOC: the marching order as far as i can tell, Hati and Gerrack are fly scouting ahead of the party. Gimble is leading the group semi scouting being in the front. followed next by Misty and Finnian walking side by side. then conrick [because he hasn't posted i just put him in this slot], and finally Edmond bring up the rear, watching for any dangers from behind.)
Hati is a sneaky one, despite the conditions he knows how to hide even when logic would dictate it is impossible. Using clouds, trees and groups of birds when available, no one looking would notice hati is actually a tiefling adventurer. sadly the extra effort of trying to be stealthy has kept him from keeping an actual good eye out. Plus Hati was thinking of last night, from the battle and what came after. All the more reason he should pay attention.
Gerrack, on the other hand less sneaky, and arguably less perceptive, was a little easier to see, his breakfast failed to satisfy his hunger and went hunting instead of scouting ahead like he had told the group. finds a hare in the grass not far from the road and goes to hunt it. after about ten minutes he catches and kills it. (OOC: make note you can add a hare to your inventory Gerrack, it will still need to be skinned and cooked.) He then returns to the party.
Gimble, leading the party and keeping your eyes peeled for danger, you watch as your two airborne allies sort of make fools of themselves not doing the job they said they would do. You do not see any danger, but you see a wagon on the road heading towards the party.
the rest of the party hears Finnian's merry shanty, keeping a good marching tempo. (speaking of which is the traveling speed still at normal? or are we increasing or decreasing the speed? i can review the speed rules with you all if you have forgotten what i posted when you left the city.)
(OOC: @ everyone what do you do?)

As he lands and tucks away his kill, Gerrack hears singing coming from the group. He tilts his head, trying to understand why anyone would bear ill-will to the good-natured man, who seems to naturally be able to bond with the others. Seeing that they're pacing away from him as he stares rather quickly, Gerrack returns to the sky and continues scouting - this time with his full attention on his surroundings.
"Excuse my friends here for their drawn weapons, but we had a band of bandits attack our camp last night." Misty says as she steps forward to meet the wagon. She looks over the wagon to see if there is any reason for them to worry about it.
“He guys, we gotta wagon coming up here. They are moving towards us. I suggest moving off the side of the road to just let them by. Unless of course they seem to be these Red Brand fools.”
With that Gimble will move back towards the front but dip out of sight just off the road. Waiting and watching.
Conrick is great exactly where you placed him. From where he is standing, Conrick would like to see if he can determine how many people are in the cart that is approaching, and whether they are goblins or have the Red Bandit attire on.
“Let’s not psych ourselves out friends, I think staying vigilant after our last battle is important but we don’t want to let our nerves get to us. Sometimes a passing cart may simply be a passing cart.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Finnian steps off to the side of the road to let the caravan pass, content to give the passersby a friendly wave but little else given last night's excitement. He keeps an eye on them as they approach, his arcane focus tucked out of sight in the palm of his hand.
Hati, despite not noticing the coming traveler is still stealthed from earlier.
Gerrack returns to the group and then tries to hide, the only real spots to hide is off the road, so after returning to the group leaves immediately to hide in the tall grass, not too far from where he grabbed the hare. he looks around, sees things in the distance, nothing of danger. He does see the party looking at something and talking.
Gimble, (OOC: just so you are aware the road is big/wide enough for both the party and the wagon to go on it and not bump into each other.) being an expert at stealth you have no problem hiding just to the side of the road. from what you can tell its just a rider and their wagon. the wagon is being pulled by horses and not oxen.
Misty, she waits for the wagon to approach. (OOC: i'll have your dialog after the wagon approaches. [DM's comment, just trying to set the scene rather than all these actions the party is doing in a certain order.])
Finnian, (OOC: like i told gimble the road is big/wide enough for the party to be on it and for the wagon to go on by. but the person is likely to find you polite for moving aside.) Moves to the side of the road but not far out. Finnian is off from the road from Misty, not disrupting Gimble and Gerrack's hiding.
Conrick, stands near Misty, he sees only one person in the wagon, as the wagon draws near he believes the rider is a human male.
Edmond, Gimble tells you that he sees a wagon heading your way on the road, sadly its not a very detailed answer. Edmond pulls out his warhammer and shield. As you approach the wagon heading towards the party you see a human male, somewhere in his 40s. The wagon doesn't look all that special, it does not have a full load. Thats suspicious but not suspicious like he is a crook or a danger.
The wagon continues until its not too far from Edmond. the rider stops his horses. Hammond: (to Edmond, Misty and Conrick) "Hello there, haven't seen many travelers. Its a little worrying the road to the capital is so empty. I've heard rumors of attacks and raids on merchants, so i was a little nervous until now."
Misty says her greeting. (OOC: read misty's post)
Hammond: (to Edmond, Misty and Conrick) "To be perfectly honest i was a little nervous to see armed strangers approaching, but your friend there is a servant of Tyr." Hammond says indicating to Edmond's shield. "A soldier of justice is always a good sight, particularly so given the rumors of attacks in the area. Before i get too carried away, my name is Hammond, a traveling merchant."
(OOC: @ everyone what does everyone do? [DM's comment, i ask instead of just let this play out since two of you were rolling initiative. I'll say this bandits and crooks don't usually use roads or ride in wagons, unless they already got loot from someone or something. and as an additional note its saturday so i probably will not post until this evening even if all seven players post something.])

Seeing the rest of the group stopping to talk to the wagon, Gerrack comes out of his hiding space and lands nearby, listening in on the conversation. His feathers settle as he hears Hammond praising one of the Triad, Tyr, and he approaches awkwardly, keeping to the back of the group.
(OOC: Usually, Gerrack would prefer to take his turn speaking after someone else did first. So theoretically this post can occur in the timeline anytime after someone else also gives a greeting.)
"G-greetings," he returns to the merchant quietly with a respectful bow after the introduction. "My name is G-Gerrack, a servant of I-I-Illmater. ”Well hello there. Sorry I was hiding but ya can never be to careful on this road lately.”Gimble says as he leaves his hiding place and approaches the wagon.
