Gerrard Feldren - Human Noble in Ghosts of Saltmarsh
Kerric Brightblade - Elven Warrior in "Apocalypse"
The warrior begins to move his hand but you read his intentions. It may be the quick look he gives to the inside of the church or the glint in his eyes. Then you all burst in action.
Gerrard ready rapier leaves a large gash. Sir Qelroth and Varrick weapons hammer down the man before his mace even starts to move upwards.
Inside the small church, there is a scream of rage and a commanding voice that shatters the silence. "Take them."
You all hear feet running toward you.
( Those who didn't act can still prepare actions before the others acolytes arrive )
( I think Gerrard is using up all the good rolls. Lol)
Sir Qelroth:
" He said they worship death, now we have helped him to receive his glory. Looks like the others wish a similar baptism. Bahamuut's will be done and the glory of the light"

Alkaios:
(Initiative: 5)
In the blink of an eye his companions cut down the guard at the entrance as he tried to reach for his weapon. The whole situation turned sour quickly, as the Ranger watched the other members of the church approach them with violent intent. "Careful now!", he exclaimed more to himself than to anyone else. His two trusted swords in hand, Alkaios readied himself to jump on the next attacker that came would come into his vicinity.
Alkaios takes the Ready Action. He will usw his Reaction to attack the first cultist which comes close to him.
To speed up things I'll roll the attack in case some accolyte triggers it.
"Disable them without killing them if you can," suggests Gerrard. "They may just be brainwashed or otherwise controlled to act this way," he adds as the temple forces descend on them.
The cultists come at you with daggers. The four who step out open their mouth to scream but no sounds comes out. It takes you a second to realize that they have no tongues before the first one, a raging lunatic with a maniacal face upon you.
The first one who approaches is cut down by Alkaios. The others are close behind.
(Init for them is 5 )
You can all make your moves.
Asher readied his action ? if so he can act twice but can only attack once.

Gerrard:
Gerrard steps up and strikes at the nearest cultist, shuddering at their self-mutiliation. He strikes at the legs, trying to disable the man without killing him.

Eleonora
Finally. This is what she had been waiting for. She would much rather leap into action instead of try to smooth talk their way past the guard. So in a way she's glad the diplomacy failed, because now they can take out these cultists, like they deserve.
Swinging her halberd, she moves to attack one of the one exiting the church, placing a hex on them as she does so.
Initiative: 8
Hex: Disadvantage on str checks.
Halberd: Attack: 12 Damage: 12 Hex damage: 6

Alkaios:
In one swift movement Alkaios had cut down the first cultist that came to attack him, his last breath revealing that he had cut out his own tounge. The Ranger knew that these people meant business. Fanatics couldn't be reasoned with and these people appeared beyond redemption. He turned towards the next enemy closest to him, seeing his companions already involved in vicious fighting of their own. Alkaios immediately vaulted at the attacker bringing both of his swords to bear.

Alkaios:
"We need to stay focused. This might have been only the first wave.", Alkaios said still very much on edge. He scanned the room to identify any approaching reinforcements. "Seems like we hit the jackpot. I think we should go ahead and clear this building. With any luck we put this cult down in one swift action.", the Ranger stated.

”Fear not, good citizens. The Flaming Fist shall deal with the evil this false church has brought to your doorstep,” Gerrard says to the frightened townsfolk. He then turns to Alkaios and responds, “Indeed, let us enter,” suiting action to words as he strides into the strange, silent building.

Smite the evil from this church and take the first step in cleansing this city of the infestation of evil Gods and twisted people. And maybe whe we are done burn this building to the ground to ensure evil has no place to hide or come back. It could have been made into a demon gateway or something "
As Sir Qelroth talks about burning, the others can see a slight reddish glow behind his breastplate and a small puff of smoke exits his mouth as he speaks.

"I agree. Burning this place to ash and cinder is the best way to ensure that what they were doing here cannot spread further."
Eleonora doesn't wait to enter the church or even seem to notice the crowd that's begun to gather outside. She stalks inside, halberd at the ready, looking for any signs of more cultists or what evil they may have been up to. With the recent happenings in Elturel, this ritual of the silence or whatever they were attempting doesn't sit well with her.
