Pizazz's Ravenloft and Beyond

"We are all here, it seems." He did the same thing, checked for the people's presence first, then healing Meepo 2nd lvl Cure Wounds on him for 12. If hearing did not return to the kobold yet, he uses Lesser Restoration too.

"Let's get through the portal, we can return later." He did not move, though, intending to be the last one leaving and cover the exit. Right now he was watching the passage entrance - the dragon would not fit in there, but it did not exactly need to with its magic either.

Mordekai comes to, laying just within the cave system. A big waves comes splashing up over the group and spills into the closet and alley way back in Sigil.  

Meepo feels Lionel's healing pour into him....but his ears are still numb and ringing. Its not until Lionel casts Lesser Restoration that the rush of sound comes flooding back into Meepo.  

You do not seem to hear the dragon's pursuit....at least for the moment. 

"hrmpfh maybe fog not all time we wait later fog back hrmpfh" "hrmpfh attack now after fog gone hrmpfh".

Mordekai splutters as he comes round, only to get a wave completely cover him before he can stand. "Thanks for the save, that was a close one." He thinks for a moment, "Maybe I should've written my own name in my book. Not sure how that would work. Eh, probably best to chalk this up to not smashing an angry dragon's stuff in future. It really didn't like that, did it?"

Noticing the silence, "Is it dead? Meepo, I'm sorry. I didn't intend to put us in the position of having to kill such a magnificent creature."

"You should not have angered a dragon in its lair," nodded Lionel, "we could talk it out. But now, unless you know the way to calm the beast, it is fight or flight." He generally shared Ulthan's very surprising enthusiasm of attacking the dragon again, but the group was quite beaten up and the quiet alley of Sigil, visible in the still open portal, had its appeal as well. "We need to get past that dragon one way or another." Lionel did not add that the dragon made it personal now and now he is truly determined to see this quest through.

     "I want that dragon dead," Ketch said quietly. Determinedly.

     "But this moment may not be the time to get it done," he admitted. "My highest healing blessings have already been tapped and we're all ragged and damaged.  We should return when rested and with a plan... Perhaps interrogating the book genie could shed some light on what we encountered, where the true wizard may be, or if there is anything in that area that we could use to help us."

Meepo didn’t have any skeletons in melee with the dragon, they were all as far as they could be away, shootting into the fog with bows.  Not certain how the dragon could reach them, but maybe it is just my misunderstanding of the terrain.

Out int he alley again, Meepo looks sad as he glanced back to the portal.  “Dragon no let this be.”  Meepo says with a glance to his companions.  “Dragon be mad now, that we fought in its home, and escaped.”  He sighs as he nods to the others.  “Meepo think best deal with dragon too, as it otherwise be certain to hold grudge and find way to work against us now.”

The group sits at the threshold of the portal back into the storage room and alleyway of Sigil. The storm outside continues to roar, with rain pouring down and waves crashing heavily into the coast, spilling into the cave with foaming crashes. Looking down the cave towards the entrance, you've not seen nor heard sign of the dragon yet, but with the waves, rain and wind and being so close to the entrance, you'd doubt you'd hear anything before it emerged around the corner. One small blessing is, this hallway may be too small for it to get down. 

The group glances at each other. Though Ulthan is talking, you see blood draining down his cheeks from his ears and he isn't' responding to people's voices. It's clear he's also deaf. 

Luckily there's blood pouring out otherwise his reactions and responses are pretty much the same as always. He awaits for the group to do something other than what he says and he'll follow along, not like he's going to solo the dragon himself.

     Ketch urges all beyond the door and back to the closet and alley beyond.  Little protection from a dragon but a barrier, no matter how flimsy, gives great psychological comfort…

     Once there he starts healing what he can:

Ulthan 18
Mordekai 15 plus 13

Meepo 12 plus 12 plus 10

Assuming not interrupted yet, Ketch will look over the group and see if he can save his last few prayers or not…

Lionel was all for leaving and as fast as possible. He still intended to be the last one to step through, but before everyone was ushered out, "tsk" -ed at Ulthan, concentrated and touched the big man with the golden light of his anger. ("Harness Divine Power" to restore the spell slot and "Lesser Restoration" to restore hearing)

"I would prefer planning from here." Lionel first leaned at the wall then just sat down on the road. "Not the best of our fights, but now we know what we are up against here. We can rest right here and repeat the attempt or return home" (somehow that Inn felt like home by now) "and truly plan our next move." Lionel looked at everyone firmly. "The dragon chose to fight. This is what we are planning."

Ulthan hears the keen "pop" of sound in his ears and the rush of wind and once again he can hear.  The group withdraws into the alleyway of Sigil. The hazy cold air greets you all as, soaked with sea water, you splash onto the cobbled dead end alleyway.  Another wave of water washes out of the closet and into the alley. The sound of wind and rain can be heard keenly through the portal. 

     "I will teleport us home...  After time has passed to see if the worm crawls through after us," Ketch says.  "It would be rude to draw the beast out and then leave it for others to handle."

     After 15-20 minutes, if there is no sign of the dragon, or anything else, following us out then Ketch will reach into his pouch, pull out the appropriate rock, concentrate a moment and then Teleport everyone back to the inn...

     (After, of course, making sure Meepo has tucked all his skellies into his hole nice and tight...)

The seventeen remaining skeletons clatter into Meepo's hole. However you don't get fifteen minutes to yourselves. Perhaps five minutes later, a thick fog seeps forward filling the main cave area....and then begins to creep down the narrow cave towards the portal. 

"Can we close the portal? Which of us opened it? Does the same command word close it?"

"This is what the genie said." Lionel was not the one who opened the portal but concentrated and tried his best to close it, stopping mid-sentence, though. "If we can hide, the dragon comes out, we get in and close it from the other side - do you think the dragon would know the word to open it again?"

Lionel did not see it as "unleashing dragon on unsuspected" and with so many portals around was pretty sure officials know how to deal with dangerous beings, but should others disagree with the idea, he would say the magic word now. "Ugalthyenkmoore szzilliar" He kept repeating the command until he could get it right.

"Dragon just person." Meepo says with a frown. "Meepo no think dragon, good bronze dragon, destroy city. Dragon be upset, but dragon no be evil."

He frowns at the tunnel though. "Meepo no think dragon fit in tunnel, or through portal." He cocks his head to the side. "Maybe dragon change into human form to come after..."

((Clarification on which side of portal we are currently on?  We still in the cave/water world or back through to our most recent “reality” through the janitor room and in the alley?  I think post 5793 had me thinking we left waterworld.))

     If the dragon is coming, Ketch believes it is their duty to deal with it.  The town may have people to deal with incursions but inevitably innocents would be hurt until they do…  we started this, we shouldn’t just hope someone else cleans it up.
