Meepo is uncomfortable so close to the sad wizard. It only reminds him of what might happen to his own magic if he does not get this curse fixed. He peeks out through the opening, trying to see if anything has changed outside.

As he finishes writing and waits for a reply, Mordekai repeatedly mutters under his breath, "Not again... not again..."

Chance of Mordekai’s message being lost getting to the Demi plane they’re hiding in : (lost on 0-5). 58
Meepo pokes his head out and looks around. The undead are still present in droves, however with no obvious enemies they are no longer pressed up against the wall of force trying to scratch through and instead are just sort of milling about. He hears Mordekai’s message in his head.
Mordekai sighs deeply with relief, before standing up tall once again and saying to the others, "Meepo says he's out of danger, he's hidden behind a force wall - for the time being. What's our next move? How do we go and get him? Try to lure the undead towards us out here?"
Mordekai will cautiously proceed down to the bottom of the stairs, looking out for undead.
The group moves down the stairs and gets to the bottom of the shaft. Still looking rather banged up, but determined to rescue Meepo. Mordekai peers around the corner into the library. Through the entrance chamber and the dug out collapsed area he can see into the dark library. He sees numerous undead shuffling about slowly in a milling way. Amidst them in the middle of the table room stands a large stone figure, unmoving. The scraped of the shuffling undead are like a strange whisper in the air. Quinn, who briefly had turned into a glowing spear was back to himself. He vibrates with anticipation and muttered, “You do things that may result in your life stopping. Yet you do it anyway. Is the word for this…..stupidity?”

"Well, now, you of all people should know it's not so simple as that! It depends on the narrative you want to create. If it's the main character of your narrative, the words are heroism and bravery. If it's a sidekick, the word is loyalty. If it's your enemy perhaps, you could call it stupidity, yes. And in some stories, the greater narrative is more important than the individual character. The word for that is purpose. But whatever the word you choose, we're going back in. We need those keys, and we need to save Meepo. From the undead surrounding him, and from that curse. And I'd really appreciate your continued assistance, if you would still give it."
Ulthan staggers from the many words spoken in quick succession as if he's taken another hit from the giant. He heals himself a few times coming down the staircase. 71012..... sigh screwed up last 2 rolls, single rolls... so I'll take first number of the 2 dice.
Ketch tosses the necklace to Lionel as he approaches and advises it was from inside the golem. “You’re better sorting out the puzzles so you hold it while we find the others.”
Ketch would quickly head back down the stairs, though slow and use more caution once Meepo’s safety is relayed. “I suppose we should head to Meepo’s room and free him first. Get the gang back together, and all. I could try rushing to wall opposite door and try to turn them… might get most of them to flee the room. We could then set up a more positive position and have the UB turned more or less all coming at us from one direction?”
(I’ll assume say 5 rounds for polishing off golem, getting necklace, heading back down stairs? Just guesstimating for HP ring regenerates for Ketch…))
"You want to fight all undead and the golem from the ground again? Not lure them here where we can drop them the stairs and shoot from above in relative safety and while protecting those not so suited to melee combat?" It was a question, Lionel fully assumed he could miss something and righting in the room was better.
"I will add that it's odd that all the undead didn't pursue us. I wonder if they have some magical obligation to defend this place, and once we left they had no obligation to follow? Although the golem clearly did. Is that even possible? Do such magical contracts exist?"
Mordekai will once again get the Tome out and write a message for Meepo. "What can you see? What are the undead doing? Did they not follow us? Can you still teleport?"
"I liked the lure the undead plan while we thought they were able to be lured. Perhaps they did not see where we went, but they definitely haven't pursued us yet. We could try though..."
Nobody "ran out the front door"....so its very likely the undead have no idea where you went. The battle with the golem occurred quite a ways up the shaft, and when Ketch plummeted down the shaft then ran back up, it's possible they didn't notice? They don't seem to be paying attention that way anyway. They seem mostly focused on the door room, clambering against the invisible wall keeping them from protecting the door.
(6 rounds now worth of chit chat and movin around for Ketch)
Quinn nods to Mordekai, "Yes, words are important. In so much that they are meaningless, but also mean everything. I think I understand. But, answer me this. Why do you wear clothes?"

Mordekai casts Disguise Self to change the appearance of his clothing to tattered rags. "I would have said, 'Who says I'm wearing clothes?' but I think you can probably see through my illusions. But look at me now - or at least the version others see. For one who deals in altered perceptions and deceptions, clothes are essential tools of the trade. First impressions are everything, and in many cases clothes are your first impression."
"Unless you can do this, of course..." and Mordekai casts Disguise Self once again to revert back to his normal clothes - still with the tattoos on his body, but this time taking into account the flaws the ghost had pointed out, trying to make them even more convincing. "...in my case, the clothes I choose to wear are to convince myself. It's hard to enact the illusion of a prince when you still wear pauper's rags, no matter how princely your illusion."
Mordekai turns to the others, seeing Ketch gradually look stronger with every passing moment (and every casting of Disguise Self - if Mordekai's not interrupted, that conversation would take up another 2 rounds. But since we have a lull in the danger, I figured buying a few more moments for Ketch to heal is no bad thing.). "Is it time to beckon more foes out towards us?"
"Let's see if they bite." Lionel stepped forward from under the staircase towards the golem - the main source of danger and potential treasure. "Be ready to go up again!" He, himself, intended to move back as soon as enemies will show some interest in the party.
It does not take long. Lionel steps out into the doorway. From within, a silhouette fills the entranceway from the bright stairway. The undead and the guardian all turn. The undead run forward, the swarm ready to attack, while the golem moves forward at a more measured pace.
