You can get your rest after the talk to the Captain.
In that case, Choir washes up, burns some incense (that should help cover the stink of the cultists' lair) and spends time in meditation and prayer to Akadi.
After that, she enjoys rolling agates around the tabletop.

Eavesdropping on Adray addressing Nibs' suggestion, she'd nod in agreement and interject a suggestion of her own. "May not be popular opinion, but I could melt some down, repurpose it too." She'd shrug.
"Aye. We can wash up an' do a little studying. I got a project I'd like teh tinker at later too." Fran would look around, thinking about how much room they're going to need to spread out and complete their work, preferably in private. "Definitely wanna refill the med kit. Curious about armour reinforcement or upgrades. Oh! An I wonder how hard it is teh get our hands on a real bag of holding." She'd start thinking out loud when he'd suggest making a list.
“I’m sorry Adrey, but it looks like you will have to bond with it to see all of it’s properties. I can’t tell you if it will ba dangerous or not but from what i can tell it was made with evil intentions.”
“I would like to use the few hours of break we have before seeing the captain to wash up and study one of the books we found. Maybe I can even learn a few of the spells in there, so I’ll be in the cafeteria if you want me!” And so she skips away as happy as you have ever seen her.
Adray clucksbhis tongue a few times while thinking. "It may be dangerous but I'll give it a try. Just in case though, maybe we should have someone else present and I'll put some manacles on.. just incase..."
Ordrag volunteers to supervise Adray's investigation of the mask. He sources some manacles from the bailiff, and stands guard seated on a bench with his scimitars drawn.

How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
For Ordrag that was not a very exciting hour, unless things that exciting you include meditating monks. The mask was a very fragile at a glance and beautifully crafted, imitating upper part of a white dragon face. Cool on touch and light on the head, it nevertheless obscured vision as many helmets do. An hour of meditation with this mask on did not fill Adray with rage or desire to search nearby dragon and pledge his life to the creature. The only physical effect was feeling of warmth in the cool enough air of the barracks, but Adrays mind was suddenly filled with strange words - sounded like tonal growl in his head, that he could fully understand and most likely pronounce out loud.
(The mask gives cold resistance and allows to speak Draconic, when weared)
With a look of grim determination, Adray holds out his hands for the manacles and let's them be put on. He the grabs the mask, puts himself in the corner and sits down. Staring at the mask, the takes a deep breath and puts it upon his face and starts the process of attuning to it. When done he looks up at Ordrag and says, "I feel no different about myself than before with the exception of two things. I heard some slight growls and believe I can understand dragon speech now and I think it offers some protection against cold, which seems logical as white dragons are the icy kind." He stands up and slides the mask off and asks, "would you please take these off now?"
Assuming he does, he stretches a bit and says, "Even for me that's a long time sitting. Whose up for a walk and some coin spending?"
At the mention of shopping, Choir stops rolling the agates around and looks up.
(OOC: Can I ask what the agates and crown are worth? For the second-level spell Augury, Choir needs a set of augury sticks/bones/dice or something worth 25gp, and if the agates aren't too valuable, I think it would be cool to use those. If she keeps those and the crown, of course, she would pass on any share of the coins. But need to know the value to know whether that would be fair.)

Eye agates - 10 gp each (Choir fished out 10 of them out of the chest), crown, though non magical, is worth quite a lot - 250 gp.
(As much as I want to save time on a mundane tasks, selling that stuff (or any other, actually) within HQ looks unreasonable. Some magic-shop, probably?)
Fran would leave the boys to their mask task and she'd head for the showers too. Once all cleaned up, she'd set out to find Polly in the cafeteria, "Aye! I hope yeh didn't get too far ahead without me." She'd wave the wizard down on the way to her table. "I'd like teh see if I can learn a thing or two from you an' these books." The artificer would smile, taking a seat beside Polly.
Copying a Spell into the Book When you find a wizard spell of 1st level or higher, you can add it to your spellbook if it is of a level for which you have spell slots and if you can spare the time to decipher and copy it.
For each level of the spell, the process takes 2 hours and costs 50gp. The costs represents material components you expend as you experiment with the spell to master it, as well as the fine inks you need to record it. Once you have spent this time and money, you can prepare the spell just like your other spells.
Price we can skip (we agreed that you buy something serious and do not care about mundane, right?) but level and time are taken into account. Plus, you would need time to learn "legit" new spells - those you got with level.
Fran would take a moment to review what book she’d want to study from first. There were a couple things that caught her eye from a couple of them, but she thinks she’s decided to go for the necromancer’s book first. “Thank you fer sharing this knowledge Polly. I was strongly considering the 3rd book.” The artificer will point out. “There are a few spells that I think I’d like to learn more about: Darkvision, Cloud of daggers, magic missiles... Detect magic being one I’d like teh learn a little later on. Teh maybe back you up with.” She’d add.
[Edited because I already know shield lol for some reason I didn’t think I did.]
Ordrag sniffs his armpit and shrugs, not seeing any problem. Most of the blood seems to have ended up on his chain mail or the padding underneath, but he supposes that a quick wash couldn't hurt. He then mentions that there was a shop across the way from the Elfsong named Sorcerous Sundries, which sounds like they deal in magic items...

After a real quick clean up, Adray is ready Ordrag and Chior to go shopping. Not sure where Polly and Fran are they do a quick check for them. Finding them studying the books he says, "We're going shopping, you lot coming along or ya wanna pass us a list?"
Just as Ordrag and Adray are heading to quarters to pick up the coin and take it into the city, Ordrag sees some movement in the courtyard, and realises that some of the soldiers are conducting a sparring session, ostensibly for training purposes, but he can tell they is also some casual betting going on. Ordrag nudges Adray and points...
Eh bro. I know us had our share of fighting already, and yous just got cleaned up, but me would like to watch this. Might even have a scuffle meself. Never know, me might pick up a few moves too, eh? What you say?
(An alternative way for the non-scholars to pass the time, If DM approves.)

Being as big as the city is, I'm sure there is at least one magic shop.
Adray looks at Choir, then himself and then Nibs. "Maybe a quick bath or at least we should wipe some blood off our clothing."

Adray, stares at the men for a moment and back at Ordrag. He was about sigh when he sees some men at the side pointing and exchanging some coin.
He shrugs his shoulders and says, "Not such a bad idea. Plus, we got the extra coin. Let's make some bets."
