Polly, were in a floating conversation with a fellow shortie when Adrey comes up an explain the situation. She had been calculating the chances of winning in the different games and quickly realized that the house always wins in the end.
She bid the stranger good bye and joins up with Adrey and Ordrag.“I might have a way to make Amrik more complacent to our cause, but it is a bit risky. However if I am to try it, it is now or never. The more suspicious he gets the harder it will be to get him to come with us quietly. What do you think?” She whispers to Adrey before heading over to Ordrag. “Or I can try to read his mind. It is a trick I have been trying out lately.” And since they are on a ship she will don the eyepatch she took from Deadeye.
Choir is tagging along with Adray, so pretty much right beside or behind him.

(Fran’s by the bar still, making sure not to acknowledge Polly, Choir or Adray. Trying to play up the naive noob to this atmosphere, seeing if she can get anything off of this sleepy eye guy. Can she insight him while she’s patting Brutus and trying to engage him? I’d like to see if she can tell if his interest is malicious, genuine curiosity or something else.

lol completely, utterly clueless. She’s just winging this!)
Fran could as effectively bump her elbow in a wall (reaction-wise, red-haired thug was still a bit softer). She did get another intent look from him, but kenku bartender said in a lazy male voice "I do not pay you for flirting, Gazg" and winked to Fran with both eyes. Red-haired man narrowed his eyes and turned his gaze back to the Amrik's table. Whether he was andry or relieved Fran could not say for sure.
Meanwhile, Ordrag was about to present his interesting plan about double extermination of two cults, but was interrupted at a very beginning: "Mortlock, you said?!" Amrik looked as if he was about to throw up. The devilish creature whispered something to his ear and Amrik got a hold of himself. "Sooooo... It was my brother, who recommended me? Now I can believe in all that talk about cultists and what's not. That scar-faced hulk is consorting with the lowest of the low in Baldur's Gate to bring ruin to the family. What a curse to share the blood with someone so hateful and undeserving!" Amrik theatrically covered his eyes with a hand as if he was in pain. "On behalf of the family I have to apologies for whatever no doubt disgusting conversation you had to endure when you meet my "brother". Are these your friends?" Amirik looked at the approaching Adray, Polly and Choir with the face of the most trustworthy and virtuous man you have ever saw. "Then my apology equally belong to them too. When did you happen to meet Mortlock, may I ask?"
Adray raised his glass with a slight nod and moved next to Ordrag to join the conversation. "It wasn't long ago that we met your brother. He was a little gruff, but wholly straight forward and simple. Anyways, yes he was the one who brought up your name and pointed us in this direction," he said before pausing. He then looked at Ordrag and then back at Amirik. "I apologize, I'm a little late to the party. I'm not sure what you all had discussed before I came."
On their way over Polly will cast Detect thoughts to read the surface of Amriks mind. She will not prob deeper though so that he knows what she is doing. She is primary looking for signs of hostility.
She walks in a little behind Adrey so to cover up the spell casting and whisper “Atra eka hórna onr hugin”(let me hear your thought) and touches her forehead.
Ordrag breathes a little easier knowing that Adray and the others have arrived. He realises that Amrik is not taking the bait, and the half-orc is trying to keep his cool, but can't help letting a little impatience and hostility into his voice. His voice becomes progressively more agitated as he replies to Adray:
Us was discussing terms of your loan, the security, your need for secrecy, and such. But I don't think he want to do business with us. Says he don't deal with cults and all that. But me think it funny to accuse others of 'consorting with the lowest of the low' when one loans coin to drunks and gamblers in the basement of a dockside casino!
Ordrag glares at Amrik, tensing his jaw muscles. He then turns to Adray and says: Maybe you should talk to him yourself! then sits back with his arms crossed defiantly.

How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
OOC: I love that very special spell - [Tooltip Not Found], so helpful! :)
Polly got plenty of hostility in her readings even on a very surface level, though, not directed at the party, but at Mortlock. It seems, Amrik genuinely deeply hates his brother.
The couch in front of Amrik was meant for two. But as a good host (or wishing to look like one), Amrik gave a signal to the red-haired man by the bar, and two additional sits were provided right away (the man - Gazg, apparently personally saw to it, that everyone was seated). Fran kept her ruse and was not associated with the group, not yet.
Amrik looked at each of you with an open amusement in his eyes. "I did suspect you are not as dense - if you forgive me the term - as you wished to appear," he smiled to Ordrag, "but I must beg to differ on the definition of the "low" in this context. If you are truly familiar with the cults you mentioned, you would agree that any pirate - and, yes, there are pirates among my clients - looks almost innocent in comparison."
"Now, unfortunate incident of your meeting with my brother (which is indeed, "simple", glad we agree on that) aside, who are you really and why are you here? Is it truly about some loan?"
Adray shrugged before saying, "No this is not about a loan... Dont get me wrong it has to do with your just not so much a loan. You see, your brother had a lot of interesting things to tell us. Alot of incriminating things about the family, your family. Things that would not sit well if the public knew. As in mobs rioting outside your door. Things that could be kept under wraps so to speak."
"Glad we can talk openly - you can not imagine how refreshing this is!" The smile remained charming but intonation betrayed some hidden behind anger. "That my brother is capable of dishonouring his family even more - I have no doubts about. That is his very special talent. But even he understands the boundaries, when things he is saying begin to hurt him more, than the rest of us. Where is my dear Mortlock now, dare I ask? I would love to discuss this things with him personally."

And continues, "well that could possibly be arranged, afterward. Not really my say. We are just middlemen really. Here to request a meeting with our employer... tonight to discuss the information your brother provided."

"So, you are meaning to say, you were sent here by someone who wants ... what exactly? Talk about my brother? About things he was saying? I am all ears but so far do not fully understand what exactly are we discussing here. Though have to admit, that employer of yours sound very intriguing."
Polly leans in to Adrey and whispers to him what she has learnt from the mind reading. And finishes with “if you want me to charm him, use a nod as a sign.”
"My employer wants to discuss the information he has and what it means to you," Adray responds with emphasis on the word means. "Maybe it's of importance or maybe it's not but if the man thought it was drivel than I doubt he would have sent us."
Amrik gave each of you a long intent look and suddenly suggested: "I am at disadvantage here - you know my name, but I still do not know how to even address any of you. Why don't we get some drinks (he snapped his fingers attracting attention of bartender and made some gesture, probably meaning "wine", because his red-haired guard immediately delivered five a touch more fancy glasses than the mugs you used, filled with something ruby-red and quite aromatic. The guard put one in front of everyone) - and not that gut rot they serve to usual clients, but something real, for those with a more refine taste." Amrik took his glass, gave the wine a swirl and smelled the bouquet. Then took a sip. "Good year, good indeed. Now, why don't you tell me a bit more? You must understand - since you know who I am - my family have a lot of enemies. A simple statement "I know something, come and I tell" can be a trap. Your employer could truly thing it is important, if he or she sent four people to deliver it, but unless I believe in that importance - there can be no deal. So, may I know your names and the nature of the information we are talking about here?"
