      Polly spurs her Boneheads on with promises of glory, destruction... but most importantly, promotions! “Every one you kill is one more step up the ladder, boots!”

"Fight harder!" Choir shouts to her myrmidons. "For AKADI!  For fresh air that does not stink like demon bottoms! For Elturel!"

Sometimes heroes need a good punch to the guts to realise their potential, as it seemed to be the case here. Ordrag's fire-shooting unit finally managed to land a good strike - demons on U19 melted under the fire rain like a butter but not all of them, to much regret of warmachines.

In fact, one of the Fran's unit machine was damaged severely and now the crew was repairing it as fast as they could, but the rest did not wait and following the commands Managed to push forward far enough to grind the remains of the demons to the paste.

Polly's devils, still in defending mode, successfully deflected everything demons of U18could through at them, but failed to retaliate - may be realising that promotion (even if they get some) only useful a an alive devil.

Adray's abishai were less lucky - demons hit them hard. Did not destroy, but casualties were quite numerous, weakening the unit.

Lastly, Choir's myrmidons, still adjusting to the unfamiliar  plane, nevertheless managed to avert the attack and even answer the threat, but could not move too far yet.

Now the demons truly noticed attacks from the flanks and turned around:

U17 vs Polly 9, U16 vs Polly 18

U18 vs Adray 8 ,

T18 vs Fran 22, T20 vs Fran 17

U20 vs Choir 17

 Fran, Adray your BR is now 2 (roll d20 + 2), U20 is weakened.

At the rear of the attack Ordrag could see the casualties in Adray's draconic group. Hoping to relieve the pressure on them and also widen the breach in the demon line, Ordrag directs his devil shooters against U18.

     Polly also directs her Boneheads to attack U18 - Cutting a diagonal slash down a bit might allow them to skirt past some of the deepest packs of the enemy and have an easier path.  Or at least that is the hope.

(Can Fran spend a round repairing/defending?)

Choir directs her Myrmidons at U20

(Then I wouldn't wanna bottleneck us, we'll press forward again this round in hopes to blaze the trail just a little more :) )

"Must keep the momentum!" Fran would grunt, making the call to press forward.

Ordrag's unit continued their rain on U18 not allowing those demons to take a breath between attacks.

At the same time Polly's devils, still maintaining their incredible defenses, saw the chance to finish what remained of the monsters off and moving in their space following Fran's machines.

Adray's abishai got hit hard again ( 8 ) but the dragon unit was not that easy to demoralize. Their attack could be weak but they did not flee.

Fran's machines learned their lesson and moved forward more carefully, defending precious mechanisms.

Choir's elementals, meanwhile, cleaned up another piece of the hellscape of the demons and now the small army was moving forward in a perfect wedge formation with warmachines cleaning the path ahead.

But the demon army was not destroyed just yet and devils had to deal with the heavy opposition, if not for the other devils around, it could be worse but the chaos on the battlefield allowed

T18 vs Polly: 11, T20 vs Choir 15

 The goal was still far away but but the party was moving forward!

With U20 cleared, Choir and her flying monkeys elementals move on to s20

((How does movement work?  Can two not occupy same square?  Polly would be looking to go from U18 to T19...  To support, or follow Fran. If more movement possible, then T19 to S19...?))

Fran would continue to keep pressing forward, riding the momentum as long as they could. Her and her team were able to blaze a bit of the trail for the others, but they could still use a little more.

Ordrag's devils continued sending fire death from above, burning demons on R19to the crisp. Still there were too many and Fran's machines could not grind all that mass just yet.

Polly's bone devils had to fight against T18 to move forward, and proved that police force even of the Hells is less effective on the battlefield than regular solders. They escaped but not without casualties.

Unexpectedly, T20 proved to be quite the strong force and despite combined effort of abishai and elementals, did not budge - that obstacle still had to be dealt with one way or another.

New enemies - Ordrag's forces coming to close enough - distracted the naturally unfocused demon forces enough to take some heat off other units and now barbed devils had to prove they can do more than just shoot:
