You can make a Medicine check greater than 10 on your next turn. That will stabilise him until he can be healed.
Roar's first strike misses the goblin, but her second slices through flesh and armour, until it hits bone. The enemy falls to the ground bleeding badly.
Turn 2
Enemy Group (Initiative20)
Bow Goblin A (on the bank, defeated)
Bow Goblin B (on the bank)
Sword Goblin A (in melee range,d)
Sword Goblin B (in melee range, ruined face)
Sword Goblin C (in melee range, seriously burned by radiance)
Sword Goblin D (on the bank, fleeing with Gundren)

Now that the immediate danger of the goblins has lessened, Tallanvor rushes over to XiaLong and Gundren. Again he seeks the void and delves into the body of the wounded man searching for the wounds using the healing magic that he has found. He weaves a spell concentrated on healing the worst of the wounds.
"These creatures are relentless!" Siloqui mutters to herself. Fueled even more so by her frustration, she sets up to fire her bow again, but this time at the Sword goblin. Multiple arrows she swiftly sends down towards her target.
Tallanvor's spell illuminates Gundren, his eyes open and he puts his hand to his head obviously in pain "Oh my, everything hurts. What happened?"
Siloqui's arrows find their mark and the final goblin attacking SIldar collapses, arrow passes straight through in it's leg, through the other one tearing both off, recoils off the ground and ends up stuck in it's throat. It gives a gurgle before crashing to the ground in a pool of it's blood. "My thanks. Gundren?", he looks up the bank and sees Tallanvor and XiaoLong beside Gundren, and appears relieved."So that leaves one more"and he looks in the direction of the final goblin on the bank. It manages to avoid Humblodt's stone, but it looks very worried, as if it has realised the danger it is currently in .

The shard of ice hits the final goblin directly in the chest causing it to stumble and roll down the bank to where the rest of the party are standing. The goblin screams "Mercy! Mercy!" and holds up it's hands. Sildar drops to the ground and catches his breath.
Ro moves to the unconscious (and somewhat burned) goblin and raises a sword. She's about to bring it down on the goblin's neck when she sees Twiglet crying on the ground out the corner of her eye and hesitates. Lowering the sword, she steps over the prone goblin and crouches, turning her back to Twiglet so he can't see what she's doing. And with a quick movement, she slits the goblin's throat.
No mercy.
She stands up and takes a few steps towards the surrendering goblin before a sob from Twiglet makes her pause. She looks back and forth between the surviving goblin and the distraught halfling, her fists clenching and loosening around the grips of her swords.
The roll didn't work unfortunately, but the only strange thing physically about the goblin is that it's teeth have been filed into points. You notice that the other goblins from the ambush have the same filed teeth. Maybe you could ask it some questions?
TODO: check on browser if that is a Nat 1 and do something silly
What are the rules for people rolling perception a bunch of times in a row? Can each of the party members roll perception until one of us gets something decent. I mean obviously I can't just roll perception again, I would just do it until I got a natural 20.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Elves and Dwarves too nice for this.
Ro dips a finger in the blood on one of her swords and writes a message across a goblin corpse's chest. The one without legs. Then she grabs the corpse by its hair, drags it over to where the surviving goblin is being interrogated, and drops it unceremoniously at the prisoner's feet. * She glares at the prisoner for a few seconds **/***, spits on the ground, and heads back towards Twiglet.
The message reads: "When I come back I kill you. If you talk, these people maybe stop me."
* Not sure if this should be an intimidation check (5) or help for Tallavnor's persuasion check?
** Insight check: 12 - Does the prisoner look like he's actually going to cooperate or does he look like he's more likely to just drop a bunch of lies?
*** Perception check: 15 - Do their teeth look like they were recently filed or was this done some time ago? (different surface discoloration on the front vs the filed sides, visible nerve ends, rough edges that haven't been worn smooth yet?) Do they have any visible clan tattoos or markings on their clothes?
I rolled the perception check with disadvantage (high roll was 18 total) because good luck inspecting teeth from several feet away unless the answer is super obvious, and she's not from around here so she probably wouldn't recognize the clan anyway. Whatever happens, she's still raging and none of the party members watching the prisoner know sign language so she'd keep the answers to herself until she calms down and can write a note or ask Twiglet to translate.
When she gets close to Twiglet she closes her eyes and tries to force herself to relax. She lets out a long sigh and sets her swords on the ground, wiping her bloody hands in the grass. As the last of the rage drains away she gingerly takes away Twiglet's dagger and helps him to his feet. Then she leads him around the back of the wagons to a spot out of sight of the carnage. Sitting against the spokes of a wagon wheel she tries to find and sign the right words but after a few tries it becomes obvious that it's not going to happen. In the end she shows him the sign for "sorry" and gives him a weak smile - it's all she can do. He shouldn't be left alone in his current state so she sits with him while he cries.
The goblin shrieks as it reads Roar's message. "Stop, please. I tell you everything you want." Looking at Tallanvor, "Boss Klarg The Mighty get message from Big Boss Krol yesterday. Say we hired to capture dwarf and human on way to town. We keep watch of track and lay trap like we do on all wagons. But we not told how many of you. We outmatched by your might."
Insight tends to be the useful check for seeing if a creature is lying etc.
Perception is for observing physical things around you, like traps or stealthy creatures.
Investigation is for actively looking for clues, like finding hidden doors or tracks.
As to rerolling checks, I think one check per interaction is reasonable. Otherwise like you said people would spam until they hit a Nat 20. Remember that you can use passive versions of all your abilities (10+ modifier) instead of rolling.
Roar's investigation of on the dead goblin's teeth shows that the filing down was done a while ago. Based on the fact that all the goblins have the same teeth it is likely it is some clan marking. Looking around, the goblins are wearing a mismatch of different colours, fabrics and clothes, almost the exact opposite of a uniform. It appears that they might be wearing whatever they can scavenge from their victims.

In that case the investigation check for looking at the teeth and tattoos would have been 12, or 16 without disadvantage.
