Ilduarana gets closer to Twiglet, smiles st him and says to him" in nature we all have a place, big creatures are not better or more important than small ones. You understand things... "
Twiglet blushes with embarrassed pride at suddenly being the centre of attention. He has no clothes more than the ones on his back but they can try to form a disguise from what they have.
Twiglet relays Ro’s words (mostly, where he understands) to the group and the prepare the goblin as best they can.
I don't remember if I explained how casting spells works. You have cantrips, which you can cast as much as you want, like Frostbite. And then you have level 1 spells like Ice Knife and Faerie Fire. These require you to use your spell slots to cast. I like to think of it as spending a spell slot like money to cast the spell. You have 2 spell slots right now as a lvl1 druid, so you can cast two level 1 spells, like you did with Ice Knife in the last fight. You recover your spell slots every time you take a long rest.
You will get more spell slots as well as stronger ones that let you cast even better spells as you level up.
As I am not sure if you would have cast Ice knife if you had know this, I am happy to let you have your spell slots back.
”Is anyone hurt? These may help dull the pain, and provide us sustenance to fight these Cragmaws.”
Humblodt retrieves some sour-odoured berries from a pouch and hands them around. There are ten berries in total; everyone gets at least one.
He then places a gnarled hand on Twiglet’s head and, eyes closed, mutters some incomprehensible words that, to Twiglet, seem to drip with morning dew, mingled with honey and pine. All of a sudden, he feels less daunted by these unfamiliar wilderness surroundings.
These are goodberrys that Humblodt made last night. They restore 1hp apiece. He also casts guidance on Twiglet in order to boost his next survival check.
Twiglet had never had divine magic used on him and is initially panicked; but a warm, calming sensation quickly flows through him, washing away his fear, as the grizzly dwarf rests his hand on Twiglets head.
Of course, he’d watched the clerics at the temples working their everyday miracles, healing the sick and helping the needy. At least, the needy who could pay their requested donation to the temples work. He certainly didn’t fit into that category.
There had been one kindly cleric who had come to the gang lodgings, sometimes bringing food and telling stories of her god’s goodness and so forth. Twiglet had liked her, but one day someone gutted her for the small holy trinkets she carried as she walked back through the rat’s warren of alleys towards her temple. Twiglet had never known who did it and doubted he would have been able to confront whoever it was. Maybe if he sticks with these adventurers he could learn how to stand up for himself....but maybe he’d always be just Little Twiglet.
As the dwarfs magic sunk into him, Twiglet started to see the woods around them not so much as a hostile entity, but as a source of possibilities. Paths, bushes, roots and animals. Maybe this wasn’t so bad after all?
"Sildar and meself do have armor, twould be best for us to lead" Tallanvor says and takes the rope. "If you raise the alarm" he adresses the leashed goblin "ye'll meet the creator afore your call reaches their ears"
They carefully follow the path with a weary eye for traps
The goblin looks terrified of you all, but starts walking along the trail. After 15 minutes it stops walking, turns around, shaking it's head. It steps off the trail and walks through the undergrowth on the side of the path for a few metres, before stepping back onto the path. It looks at you all, seeking approval.
Tallanvor and Twiglet notice a loop of rope on the path with fallen leaves covering it, with the trigger set right in the middle. The rope leads off to a nearby branch which is bend over. If someone were to step on it, they would be snared and the branch would swing up and hang them from the tree.
After another 10 minutes, the goblin stops, looks around carefully, then steps off the path and walks around a large tree before getting back on the path, SIldar follows close behind hold the leash. Tallanvor notices that the path it avoided, looks very flat and even, compared to to the rest of the track which is quite worn.
Finally the path ends in a clearing outside the entrance to a cave. A stream flows out of the cave's mouths and along the clearing's edge. On the other side of the stream is a hedge and a dry path leading into the cave.
Apologies, I have a map on my desktop but am out. I will post it later.
“There’s two things you can do with a trap,” says Twiglet, a bit more confident on this subject. “Actually, three of you are armed. “You can go round it if you want the guards to not notice you; disarm it if you need your...less nimble friends to have easy access; or deliberately set it off” the halfling looks at the leashed goblin “if you want to draw out the guards into an ambush.”
Sorry, by the time I posted this thought, the story had gone past its usefulness :)
"It do appear we have come upon the cave we sought. Twould be best if someone could scout the way ahead unseen" Tallanvor says and looks at Twiglet. "Do ye think ye'ed be up to the task, lad? We must needs know what lies ahead afore we burst through the front door"
Twiglet has a passive stealth of 17 and is smaller than anyone else. He would make the most sense to move forward and report what he sees.
Ro points at Twiglet and nods emphatically. Then she starts signing at him so he can tell the group:
[Tie his hands, stuff his mouth, and put him in clothes. Then he walk in front. If goblins ambush us, he dies first.]
[...or I kill him now.]

Why don't we prepare a trap for the coming goblins...and I think Twiglet is right... He gave us a bit too much information... Too freely..

I'm going to be out a few hours so this is what Ilduarana will do.
She will be very aware of her surroundings waiting a trap. If we think we are near the door they
Cast Faerie fire to discover hide objects and invisible enemies (surrounding everything in purple fire)
(Ilduarana)

Ro offers her cloak - it's the right size and it has a deep hood to hide the goblin's face.

Ro ties, gags, and leashes the goblin. Then she drapes her cloak around its shoulders.
Tired of waiting, she points the goblin toward the trail and prods him in the back.

Sorry, I can’t do a die roll on my phone. Can DM do it?

If you turn phone horizontal (landscape mode) you can get the roller button etc. But it's incredibly fiddly.

"Pit huh?", grumbles Humblodt. "Sneaky. Best be on our guard and keep quiet, if they put a trap they might also have laid an ambush."
