"Aye it were this group of lowly adventurers that cleared out the goblins. Nasty lot that." He shakes his head. "It do be a pleasure to make yer acquaintance." Tallanvor bows formally and introduces each of the party in turn. "We have heard that there do be some ruffians in this town that ye may be glad to rid yerself of."
After all the excitement of the last few hours Ro had almost forgotten about the goblin cave. As soon as Halia mentions the goblins she freezes for a moment and then tries to hide behind Tallanvor's leg.
Stealth check: 6
She tries to send "I is thinking I should buy a big hat or a disguise kit maybe" to Twiglet but she's still learning how to use the necklace and she accidentally ends up broadcasting it loud enough for Halia to hear.
"That is true. They are bad for business" She smiles, "and I am sure someone would be willing to pay handsomely whoever could remove their mysterious leader Glass-Staff"
Hearing Roars' outburst, she looks down at the goblin, reaches behind the counter and throws a big floppy straw hat and scarf at her. "Those may help my dear"
"Thanks be to ye fer understanding on behalf of our Goblin friend Ro." He pats her on the newly donned hat. "No all goblins do be evil"
He focuses his attention back towards Halia. "Do ye know where we can find Glass-Staff? O' do ye know of one who do?"
He'll wait for her to finish and then add
"One other thing. We've got ourselves a bit o' a situation here. We've captured a Dark elf who may be in part responsible for the death o' a Rookseeker lad. We'd like t' deal with these redbrands and keep 'er safe from harm and out o' trouble until we can deal with 'er. Trouble is we s'spect she do have the ability t' channel... err cast spells.... She do be a sorceress is what I mean t' say. We do need a cell that can hold 'er."
"He isn't seen, but my guess would be he is holed up somewhere in the old Tresendar Manor on the hill out to the east of town. His thugs seem to wander that way after they are done bothering folks. As for your companion I am sure I can find somewhere she won't cause any trouble until you return" she smirks looking at Zeerala, who looks visibly uncomfortable.
If someone was paying attention to her hands while she spoke they would recognise her sign [welcome] like Twiglet does.
On the way out Ro steps in close to discretely send a message to Halia
"She is liking to be called Zeerala. Please be taking take good care of her. Already she is fearing and hurting and I is worrying am worried she will hurt herself."
Ro walks to the door, stops, and scoots back over.
"Is Are you having here any books for learning to speak Common maybe please?
She doesn't get to hear the answer though because she notices Twiglet heading off to scout the Sleeping Giant and runs off after him.
With Halia clearly (but still only to Twiglet) versed in thief sign, Twiglet offers up his plan.
“I know this type of operation. They are thugs, not professionals. If they are hanging out at the Sleeping Giant, they are either welcome or not. I’ll go into the tavern and see what’s occurring. No one will be bothered about an urchin boy sniffing for unfinished plates of food. “
Twiglet begins to remove his armour and weapons, but keeps his tools and two daggers in pockets.
“I’ll see if the tavern owner looks happy or not. If they look happy, I’ll come back. But if they look unhappy, I’ll find a way to talk to them and suggest we cooperate to remove the thugs. If the tavern staff can distract them or let them get drunk, we can knock their heads together easy. “
With the agreement of the others, Twiglet and Ro head for the Sleeping Giant. Ro hides near the back door with Twiglets bow and short sword. Then Twiglet enters the tavern through the smaller of the two entrances for customers. He keeps to the edge of the room and watches closely.
Im hoping maybe a stealth roll with advantage and a perception roll? But I can’t add them on the phone. Then a persuasion roll with the barkeep if it looks like it’s worth bargaining
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tallanvor heads off towards the Lionshield branch to visit Linene.
"Mighty generous reward 'twas that ye gave us fer the supplies" Tallanvor says as he approaches the counter. " 'eard ye may have some special stock in store fer the lot that rids this town o' the redbrands. We've a mind to help out in that endeavor. What special stock do y' 'ave in mind?"
If she intends the special stock for only after we've completed the mission, He'll try to convince her they'd have have a better chance taking them down if they had the items before going after glass-staff and the thugs
The Sleeping Giant is a ramshackle taproom at the east end of town. Six human ruffians linger inside, perched on empty ale barrels or leaning against the wall. They all wear grimy scarlet cloaks, but pay no mind to the halfling who enters and blends into the wall. Behind the bar is a grim looking dwarven woman, her face locked in a permanent scowl, who serves any of the thugs who comes to the bar.
Meanwhile in the Lionshield, Linene looks unimpressed with Tallanvor. "You would be wise to hold your tongue about any special stock. However I have seen you in the company of the last one I mentioned that too." She gestures you to follow her to a rear storeroom, which she unlocks, ushers you in and then locks the door behind her as she follows. "You can buy anything from the crates around you. If anyone asks, this doesn't come back to me, agreed?"
Twiglet attempts to sidle around the side of the taproom without drawing attention to himself. Out of habit more than anything, he takes any uneaten food he passes that isn’t too disgusting.
When there is an opportunity, he slips into the back rooms, ready to put on his wide-eyed starving urchin face if confronted...barmaids are usually...usually...suckers for it
Tallanvor thanks Linene for her kindness and heads out on the town wondering why his typically winning smile doesn't seem to be winning over the maidens in this land. He must be losing his edge in his old age.
65 is still barely a juvenile among the Asamir, he tells himself. Half or more of his race at this age would still be living with their parents back in the olden days.
He chuckles to himself as he heads to the Stonehill Inn. A couple or seven pints of grog should sooth his pride. Plus he better make sure he's around if the others need him tonight.
Twiglet see only one door at the back of the room. Moving around the dirty tavern room, he slips through the door finding a stressed older halfling running around a grimy kitchen trying to cook.
Twiglet puts on his best angelic urchin face and offers to help in the kitchen in exchange for a meal of scraps

The cook looks unimpressed at this vagabond sliding suspiciously easily into her kitchen. She’s seen scams before and isn’t so ready to let some kid with a thief’s darting eyes loose amongst the stock.
"What do you want lad? Another order from those idiots Grisa has let in? Always after different food! Back in my day you ate the food that was on the menu and you were happy for it"
"Scuse me m'lady, I'm not with those horrid thugs outside. I actually represent a group of adventurers who would be willing to run the Redbrands out of town. I may seem small, but my companions are heroes all, skilled with the blade and the arcane arts. I try to support them in more....secretive activities...like getting in here to talk to you"
"I have no proof you are some adventurer, but I don't care. If you are going to deal with those tools, I won't stand in your way. Grisa don't care what they do as long as she keeps getting coin, but I've seen what they are doing to this town. Was supposed to be a fresh start for me here, but with them here it is more of the same. I will do what I can to help, but I am not risking my life for you."
