The Valley of Ends

Sabasatian sees floor to ceiling bookcases lining the walls with a small, unlit fireplace in the corner. The sehlves are in disarray and only half-filled. Books, scrolls and papers litter the shelves, floor, small table and a chair.

Salys will enter the room carefully and search the papers, trying to get some idea of the content or focus of study for the room.

Investigation: 17

Fingolin follows Salys if nothing jumps at him, and scans the room for any danger.

Perception: 14

As most of the part remains in the hallway, Fingolin seems a little jumpy but nothing jump back at him as he followed behind Salys in his search. Salys for his part, searches the mess, one by one he looks at the stacks of people. On the tables he finds half inished letters to knight orders, books on nercomancy, alchemy and conjurations as well as a very old fashion antique key among the mess on the table.

Salys will take the key for now before rejoining the others in the hall.

Onyx will take a closer look deeper in the library. 

Perception 22

Fingolin follows Onyx, but stays 10ft behind and tries to be stealthy, using the stacks of books and tables for cover.

(Switching it from Perception (+7) to Investigation (+1). )

Onyx switches with Salys as he explores the room while Salys moves to safety of the hallway. Onyx looks closer to the fireplace's area to find half brunt books  titled Order of the Radiant Heart, Modern Chivary and Oathekeepers of Cormyr. Looking around the rooms, Onyx notices two spell scrolls and even recognizes two rare valuable books (250gp each), Phantoms Of Perfection & Of Blood of Demons.

Gotch moves through the library, taking a quick scan for anything magical before his detect magic runs out.

I will take the books and scrools and put them in my pack for later.

Gotch catches something which is a mix of auras as he moves into the room. Takes some climbing of shelves to get to the magical book but a quick look seems to show it's some kind of manual.  

Gotch puts it into his pack for study later. As he gets a look fromt he others he shrugs.  "Can't rightly leave such a thing behind you know..."  He sighs.  "Probably should just take what we want as we go, not like we know if we are coming back this way again."

Onyx looks around what Gotch is doing climbing the shelfs.

Onyx just sess more random books, nothing notable, just mix of alchemu, nercomancy, knight order and such.

Leaving the thoroughly search library to find some interesting books, scrolls and no door, it leaves the party with two option if they want to move forward as the hallways ahead turn to the left while there's a heavy closed iron door on the right. Could be a trick of the lights but the partyseem to see the hallway is darker as it goes on despite the lights orbs being same distance apart as the rest of the house. 

"Anyone want to check that door for traps and such?"  Gotch asks, nodding to the iron door.  He will 'help' anyone who does so.

"I can do that, if that's where we go next.", Fingolin says. He approaches the door to check for any signs that it might be trapped.

Investigation: 17

(changing Investigation to perception which adds +2)

Fingolin determines thtere's no traps on the door through it's also locked. He looks behind and can see the corridor going left. A broken door lies at the far end, twisted off it's hinges. The open doorway flickers with erractic white flashes in time with short sharp buzzing noises.

"No traps, but it's locked. But that's much more interesting." Fingolin says, pointing down the corridor going left. "And potentially dangerous. What do you think it is?"

Does Fingolin have any clue? (Arcana? 22)

Salys will move up to try and pick the lock.
