Renata agrees. "There seemed to be an abjuration spell guarding the place, however the magical barrier is weak with so many years past it. Reasonable that giving it a little push might just do the trick."
She looks over at Kysdiane, "A hand?" She beckons.
Even though the door had some give when Lia pushed against it, it is still an extremely heavy stone door. It takes the effort from everyone before it, at first, starts to swing open. After getting free of its stony jamb, a couple of metallic snaps are heard before the newly revealed three-feet-thick door falls to the ground, away from the group, with a heavy thud.
Beyond the now-broken door is a much more cramped room (around 10 feet by 30 feet). Six metal chests on shelves cut into the rock. Although a couple of them had fallen out of them and broke open as a result, giving the party a good look at their contents that had spilled onto the floor. A large number of coins.
Avia's weasel scurries about the small space for a very small amount of time (around 30 seconds). The party watches with bated breath to see if anything happens to the creature or if it triggers anything.
But nothing happens and the weasel climbs back up to Avia's shoulder.
She raises her shield to give a bit of more light ahead, stepping past the broken wooden door, entering the small room to search the metal chests and the coins on the ground.
Kysdiane would offer some guidance to Renata as she seems to be leading the search, but he would also help out and start searching the metal chests. The coins do not immediately intrigue him as he is instead looking for something that might help them decipher the riddle that this building is.

Renata takes the initiative to look into the chests around the small room the small room.
The chests are almost completely filled with different denominations of coins (800 CP, 5,000 SP, 2,000 GP, 100 PP). This room must surely be where they keep their funds for materials, wages, and any other kinds of expenses they may have had to keep track of.
One of the chests also had a smaller lock box tucked at the bottom. It is unlocked and inside are some sheets of parchment that are in surprisingly good shape. Perhaps being separated from the elements three separate ways allowed them survive this long. Some are inventory lists and other business-type manifests. But a few others seem to be more correspondence.
Summary of the correspondence:
The patron was a eccentric wizard named Thenrican who seemed to be haunted with portents of the emergence of an evil who could remake reality as it pleased
The effect these visions had soon alienated him from his peers. As a result, this project was paid entirely out of his own coffers
There are many mentions of an "overseer" that nobody except him has spoken to
He had commissioned the six flying machines to not just get to the reality-warper, but also combat it. The now-dismantled Heron was merely a proof-of-concept to show the flying machines could handle being in a separate realm
In the most recent letter, he was pleased that the "master craft" is complete and undergoing final tests and will be taken out of aerodynamics
Roughly counting the stash of coins in the chests, Renata puts them down onto the floor. "They would be about roughly 4000 gold pieces." She tells the others and leaves the chests on the floor so her companions can decide on what to do with them, herself more interested in the parchment that is securely protected in the other box - someone apparently went great efforts to make sure the ink is preserved even after years had passed. "This room must be where they keep all the funds, then. Explains the secret entrance."
She reads through the parchments, her brows furrowing as she learns the bizarre experiments by this wizard, and how he was haunted by evil visions to produce these flying machines. She relays the information to others and hands the parchments out for others who are interested after she has finished reading. "Do we have any clue what is - 'master craft' - he may be referring to?"
"Perhaps it's another flying machine? One that might actually be made for combat in another realm?" Kysdiane suggests. Once Renata is done reading and offers the parchments, he takes the parchments from her and begins reading them himself.

Avia nods in agreement. "I wonder who this overseer is, or was." Avia muses, "Perhaps there might be remnants of this master craft, still lying around? If we can find it... It must be a mechanical wonder."
