Armor's turn

Detecting some activity in the substructure behind Alden, the rather sturdy suit of armor  turns its arm to the new arrival and swings its sword at Alden.

Hand bolt vs Giant Hyena Attack: 21 Damage: 4

Longsword vs Alden Attack: 19 Damage: 7

They hyena yips as a bolt hit it in the flank (4 piercing damage) and Alden is caught off guard by a swift swing (7 slashing damage)

Oswin can take his turn.

 Alden is down to 9 H.P. 

Oswin buries his spear deep into the fierce construct's back. Clanking and rattling are heard from within as it eyes flicker wildly until they finally fade completely and it collapses under its own weight (9 damage and destroyed).

As this is happening, his own creation noisily moves its pieces back into place (12 points healed).

Metal wolf is next.

Metal wolf's turn

Even though it's surrounded, it still attacks the dwarf before it.

Bite vs. Gulgus Attack: 18 Damage: 6

The jaws grab hold of Gulgus' flesh again (7 piercing damage).

Alden can take his turn.

Alden

Alden will Disengage from combat as a bonus action .

With his action he will dash his entire speed behind him, putting that distance from him and the robot.

"We need a new plan." he yells out. "These things are going to kill us all if we do not do something coordinated."

Alden retreats and calls for a regroup by the substructure. His movement is too quick for the machine to do anything about it.

 Lia and Gulgus can post their turns

Lia sees her use of bless be simply ignored as her companion turns and runs, instead of making use of the fact she had just blessed him.  With a growl of frustration she unleashes a firey trio of blasts at the armored figure...

Gulgus

Gulgus reaches into his Tan Bag of Tricks and pulls out another furry object, tossing it 20 feet toward Alden exclaiming, "Ne'er fear...Gulgus be here!" and with a wink he summons a Bear Spirit Totem (not sure how to link a class ability...I tried action, skill and spell) near Alden (at M16).

The furry object transforms into a Jackal.

(Everyone within 30 feet of M16 will receive 9 temporary hit points.)

The Giant Hyena, being compelled by Gulgus to defend the party, attacks the metal wolf with a bite attack.

Hyena's Attack: 8
Hyena's Damage: 12

Lia conjures three fiery lances and launches them at the sturdy suit. While one seems to splash off it, two others cause it to stagger (16 total fire damage).

The adage, "the more, the merrier" comes to mind as Gulgin uses his bag to summon another, smaller carnivore to aid in the fight.

As this happens, the Large hyena tries to snap at the metal monster (Flanking rule is in effect, so attack gets advantage. Advantage roll: 16)

The hyena is able bite onto the construct, but no noticeable damage is seen (miss).

Afterwards, an aura all of the party members.

Armor is next

(The one on the map by Oswin and SD is dead, right?)

Armor's turn

Regaining its bearings after the magical attack, it approaches Lia. It attempts to strike at her with it's sword, but its swing is rather strange and cumbersome.

Longsword Attack: 10 Damage: 6

Longsword Attack: 10 Damage: 5

Despite the awkward swings, both still manage to make contact with Lia and cause grievous wounds (18 slashing damage)

Oswin can take his turn.

Lia casts shield to deflect the attacks. Plus, I did not realize she was in a movement's reach of the robot. Not exactly sure why she would have been that close, as her ranged attacks have reach of like 120 feet... I can waste a round to disengage and move away, but that seems pretty dumb with how difficult this encounter is ending up being. Can we just have her be further away? Probably behind something she can stand behind. I realize the robot can dash and possibly reach her still, but that is something else she can deal with if need be.

(I’m not sure how obstructive those things on the map are to movement, can Oswin and SD get within melee of the other wolf creature?)

(Lia did stumble into a situation in which is harder for the suit of armor to hit before the fight even started. Maybe you guys could use it to your advantage?)

Lia's reaction

Seeing the swing coming, Lia erects a magical barrier to prevent what may have been some terrible wounds (no damage)

(@ Oswin: The rubble can be considered difficult terrain if you want to cross it.)

Oswin sees Lia in melee with the armor while his new found friends have the other thing surrounded and moves to assist her. Sending SD ahead to in melee and defend her if necessary, he moves as close as he can and throws his spear.

SD to N10, shove to push it away from her. Athletics: 25

Oswin attack: Attack: 19 Damage: 7

Opposed athletics: 19

Coming to Lia's aid, Oswin and his steel defender rush out of the sub-structure. Oswin throws his spear at the suit of armor as his creation continues on to ram it. The spear goes in one side and out through another. Not long after, the smaller construct makes solid contact with the suit, causing it to stagger back a few feet (7 magical piercing damage and pushed back 5 feet.)

Metal wolf is next.

Metal wolf's turn.

Feeling the hyena's jaws on it, the remaining lupine robot, snaps at it.

Bite vs hyena Attack: 15 Damage: 7

It jaws sink into its shoulder (hyena takes 5 piercing damage).
